Sitting there last night with some coach/recruitment mates the discussion was that MM has given up on the season and is desperately trying to teach us the defensive side of football.

Players are being told to shut down on players and work on specific things.

I honestly believe that MM has realised quickly that our list is extremely poor and is looking at the big picture. Gibbs is working on his defence with the idea of becoming and elite mid.

Henderson staying up forward, Walker at HB, Bootsma/Menzel getting games etc. are all about the future.

Last night was a farewell for Duigan & Joseph.

MM was keen on getting a win last night. Said so in the presser.

At the start of the season, when we lost to Essendon*, it was about the process, not winning.

When did the result become more important than the process?

Was he happy with the process last night?

I applaud Mick for giving Hendo the #1 KPF spot and sending Waite, who's finishing up his career, down back - it's a decision for the future.

I also applaud Mick for his handling of Bootsma. The timing and handling of his re-signing was spot on. Boots will be a very good key defender for us.

I think Mick has given Hendo and Boots the big tick in his plans and structure going forward.

A joke of coach who should retire immediately.

Tactical abilities are limited and inflexible.
Blames everyone but himself.
Taken the team backwards.
Does not inspire the players.

... not to mention his brilliant decisions at the selection table.

PATHETIC ... and should be held responsible ... he had a better team to work with than last year and the season has been a disaster.

GRRR ... 2 more years to go.  :hitcomputer:

9:22 is nothing to do with coaching and everything to do with a soft football club producing soft footballers.

There was some shocking kicking last night, but MM's style of going wide means we're going to have a lot of shots from flanks, rather than directly in front if we went down the middle.

Pies under MM often kicked bags of points.

The second quarter against Richmond last week was reasonably accurate, but we were going down the middle for that term

if u are saying his teams kicked points ...u also must achnowledge they were highly succesful...especially compared to our achivements in the last 10 years

Spot on.

Many of those shots were right in front or slight angles.

Also some of our players try to make the shot look difficult. For example Eddie ... fall down ... get up ... spin around ... bend the ball hoping to get the goal and then watch replay on the big screen. Why not try holding your feet ... lining up your belly button with the centre of the goal and shoot ... simple and reliable.

Essendon* don't beat us ... we lose to them.

Or should they not need inspiration from others?

Whats the opposite of inspiration? Probably thats a better way of putting it. Leaders don't behave the way Malthouse did on Saturday night. Leaders take responsibility for poor team selections and poor tactics that have cost us games this year.

We have gone way backwards with a better team than last year ... weak pathetic effort.

We don´t use the corridor.
We don´t defend the corridor.
Other teams use the corridor.
We are vulnerable to this.

Against Richmond we went all over the ground.
Last night we went wide but this is where I differ from the other anti MMers.
Many of those missed shots were gimmes from 25-35 out on 45 or less degrees of angle and if we kicked 3-14 from set shots, I´m prepared to say we should have comfortably kicked 8-9. Even that isn´t flash but it does give us a 5 goal win.

Shit kicking from set shots can´t be laid at the feet of MM, no matter how much you dislike his game. It´s just shit skills and one that should be easy to improve with practice. So practise!

LOL Can you please enlighten us to how we have a team which is better than last year?

Did you not notice our non-invvolvement in the Draft period last season?

Its not like we have many new players, so the team is wait for it the same!!

Has been the toughest year of being a Carlton fan ever for me. Essendon** saga could bring it back.

Micks behaviour in the coaches box and in press conferences this year has been a disgrace. No wonder we don't have any cool heads out on the ground. Terrible example of someone playing it cool and executing a plan. He is all over the shop. Lost his way big time and panic looks to have set in.

Not a fan at all. It is going to be a tough few years.

So you are inferring that it is mm's game plan that is the cause for us not being able to kick straight. I thought I heard them all but this one takes the cake.
