The expectations of the club vastly outweighs the personel on and off the field at this club.

Dont expect alot... we are nowhere near what is needed to have these inds of expectations.
They fail because the club has failed.

Dont blame the players...

Anyone who has watched the CFC over the past 10 years you should know better, mentally soft.

Can't handle pressure, weak as piss but then again there is so much you can achieve with a list like our. Anyone feeling confident in trading Yazz or Gibbs for an early pick, God knows what our great recruiters would bring to the club!

nah we arent good enough.... not weak as piss.

people need to stop and take in a dose of reality.

till we do this.. we will always be disappointed.

the hierarchy has let this club down...not the players

can quite easily still make it - which is a massive joke in itself

brisbane should lose to geelong
north should lose to collingwood at the G
eagles need to totally smash adelaide and wont

and we can then lose and still come 9th

sick joke

As I mentioned in the Port pre-match thread, filth might let North win.

Who cares??? We would be smashed anyway!!!

Essendon** have been to hell and back. As a club they've copped a reaming from every angle imaginable. They had lost 4 in a row, their coach to be suspended, I mean seriously they've copped it badly. You would think they'd be finished. Just go through the motions of playing the last few games out and put 2013 far behind themselves.

*snip*

This is the litmus test of a team that means business. They take their sworn enemy when their at their weakest and shows them no mercy. We have a team of weak minded boys who either don't know our history, or simply don't give a shit about it. Playing for Carlton is supposed to mean something. Are we known for our pride? Are we known for our winning culture? When winning is everything and second is failure. Because the current team we field is nowhere near the type of team we need to win premierships. Nowhere near it.

Good win Essendon**, you've got some pride in yourselves and your jumper.

I very rarely feel moved to post here, but idle's post summed up *exactly* how I felt/feel about today's loss. I'm angrier than I can ever remember feeling about my team and club.

I can't help but feel that we have a list that generally doesn't hate losing as much as we hate it - and don't seem to feel the pain after losses such as this as much as we feel it. Until the club as a whole make it clear that losses such as today's are totally unacceptable and won't be tolerated, we're never going to progress.

Bring on the end-of-year trading period.

Out 10 guys

In 10 guys

Net result?... same

Its not about playing personel for a few years...3 years of drafting mids.. will see us ok in 5 years

no silver bullets.

Im expecting us to be worse next year

Let me remind you.... 2nd or 3rd wose midfield in the competition....

Alot of ground to make up.....3 to 5 years worth...

Not all that surprised. Sitting at the game, you could see it happening a mile off. I was more disappointed the first time we lost to them. The amazing thing is, there is still quite a good chance that we will play finals!

Incredible performance by Simpson.

With or without our new new messiah Watts?

Give it a rest, Effes.

Watts?

We need a genuine beacon forward....not a flanker like Watts.

We CAN draft a good tall forward and at the same time replenish the midfield.

Dodged the usual bizarre paf volley nicely.

You think I'm bizarre - last year, we had to wait for the official word from verbs on the 'correct' way to express ourselves after each loss. I just think I got the poster mixed up who wanted us to trade our first round draft pick for Watts, is all.

Effes is right that we need a good tall forward as much as we need more midfielders but our list problems run deeper that simply having the balls to use a good pick on a tall forward.

Double win for carlton this week.

Bombers gone and blues need to reshape their list.

Tigers were training up for sept.

The anger isn't abating. Don't think I've ever been so filthy at a loss. We have a team full of squibs and half wits. Who the @#$%&! ran into Simmo to gift Zaharakis the winning goal?

Cons:

Again we butcher a game with poor kicking for goal. Again we butcher a close game. Again we butcher a close game against the Cheating Doping Scum. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Do we have a mortgage on players who choke or are just dumb, and don't know how to finish out close games? Scores are level, Robbo has it 45 metres out and he handballs to Casboult. Why didn't one of them think it was a good idea to have a ping, even a point would have put us in front? And why does McInness go the spoil when he's clear to mark, with 30 seconds left? :banghead:
Clearly we've got a problem with running out games. That's 3 times in 4 weeks, where we've stopped running in the last quarter. Is it a problem with personnel? Or game style? Or fitness program?
Tackling was poor.
Feel sorry for our defenders, and how often they're caught one-on-one in space compared to the opposition. Hopefully this is part of a long-term plan to teach our players to play accountable footy. Because we're making it far easier for opposition teams to score against us.
Another injury early in the game. Haven't had a lot of luck in this area.
Finally got a good run with the umps, and we still didn't win. :hitcomputer:

Pros:

What an incredible game from Simmo.
Curnow was fantastic as well.
Gibbs had a good 2nd half.
Yarran tried really hard again. He's still down on skills, ball handling and confidence. But at least he's tried pretty hard the last couple of weeks.
Menzel, Bell, Graham showed good signs.
Warnock was good. Unlike last time, we didn't lose at the clearances.

Pretty much; Blue4ever contradicted him or herself by saying that our list could achieve much but then inferring our drafting was s***house. That doesn't add up on a couple of levels. Why do some people ignore causality?

Our biggest worry is where the game gets played... between the arcs... we are really.. really light on for talent..

I seriously cannot believe thats our midfield..

In the reserves our mids are Preston guys....

but we do have a few hbfer types....

question is......... how did we get here???

who is responsible??... Cacchia?.... Bell???.... Robbo???.... Armfield???....Curnow??... Lucas???...McLean???....

Whats coming through???

It was McInness, and it was a rare mistake from him in the desperation to outpoint his opponent. I think the greater concern is the ease in which they had pegged us level earlier in that quarter.

Finally we will be forced to address the midfield. It`s only taken 10 years.
And please, can we add a decent midfield coach.

a midfied coach needs a midfield group to coach.....

we dont have...

we have a couple... murphy.. who needs a lenny hayes .. or a dangerfield.. or a chris judd from 3 years ago ahead of him....
and after murphy.. who is more like a dal santo type (needs others in there so he has room)... we have nothing...

mclean is a battler...
and the others are rookies or were rookies...

or not pure mids.

wont win flags with this set up
