? Even if he isn't producing?

So we can't can't drop him when he is working hard but he needs to work harder? :yikes:

If it's purely about hard work then Duigan & Joseph would play every week.

I said i thought he was ok. He ran up and back all day.
Someone may have to go for Garlett and i guess it may be him.

It's not PURELY about hard work. It's about working on your deficiencies.
I don't think he deserves to be dropped.
Duigan and Joseph are not best 22. Their deficiencies are plenty.

I am with you on this one Choo. Yazz is also a confidence player. I thought he worked harder yesterday. I wouldn't drop him on that performance.

He's nearly 23 years old with 80 games under his belt. 11 kicks yesterday with 3 clangers and no goals.

When does it become about productivity and output and not talent?

Working hard should be the minimum standard for any AFL player.

True

But I wouldn't drop him either.
I could see it turning around yesterday with his tackles.
He needs some coach love and maybe MM will give it to him.
I agree Yazz is a confidence player.

He may just cut those Bumbers up next week, but your point Psych is that we can't rely on him being productive.
MM might turn him a round. If MM drops him then his tenure at CFC is doubtful.
I reckon...just a hunch... MM would want to keep class like Yazz on the list.
I love Yazz at HB, but it looks too easy for him and feels he's wasted back there.
There's a spot in our 18 for him, but that's up to MM.

Freo will do their sums and work out where they can finish in the top 4 win or lose. They will rest players if they think a loss won't hurt them. We probably helped them in this regard by dispatching Richmond yesterday. Having said that, I think they'll want to continue winning.

We need to win this and next week. Port is out of our control but as a matter of priority we have to beat Essendon* for all the reasons stated so eloquently earlier but also because we need to finish the season strongly now. A month ago I was advocating playing the kids win or lose an take whatever draft picks came our way if we fell to as low as 14th. Well that didn´t happen and now we are faced with maybe making up the numbers in the eight one way or another. I think it´s important now to finish as strongly as we can to get a springboard for next year. Up until this week, wins against teams above us were pretty scarce. We have the chance to win two more against top eight teams so let´s do it. If we get eliminated in the first week, so be it.

If Kreuzer is fit, he will play, no doubt. Warnock got a few hit outs and one uncontested mark last week but he was overall pretty useless. I watched the replay specifically because people thought he had done well but for the entire game, there were only THREE occasions when I thought, ´that was a good clear tap to one of us´ Most of the clearances were from secondary efforts by the mids after his taps fell at his own feet, some were from Maric taps that went astray or were turned over. Some were reasonable but just those three really clinical ones.
Kreuzer won´t get as many hit outs but his work around the ground makes up for it and his last two games were pretty good.
Garlett is an interesting one. If he´s available, Graham will probably be the one to go back to the NB. It won´t be Yarran. Bootsma I´m not sure but any more than two changes in a winning side is most unlikely. Graham will get his chances, plenty of them next year. He´s had a taste. He´s sung the song. But he has t be the first out IMO.

I´m hoping we flog them. I don´t want a one point win after the siren. That´s for Collingwood and a great game of footy. I just want to flog them from the first bounce and humiliate them.

FWIW, I REALLY like the idea someone posted somewhere of the supporters turning their backs on Essendon* when they run out. That form of silent protest would be a truly awesome thing if it could be done. How does it get organized? Not enough people to do it here. Facebook? The club couldn´t be seen to be encouraging it.

Make a Facebook event page, find a code to invite all the people who like the carlton football club official Facebook page. Ask them to forward it to all their carlton supporting friends. Wouldn't take long to circulate. Then if even a couple of thousand do it at the game, others will see them and join in pretty quickly. Just like how one person starts a Mexican wave, next minute 50,000 people are doing it.

The other option would be to obtain the carlton membership mailing list somehow.. Someone must know someone who works in the membership department

How about if the BF posters casually ask over there if it's true that carlton supporters might turn their backs when Bummers run out? that they'd heard a rumour somewhere? :sly:

Thanks for the effort. I'll leave it to someone a bit more tech savvy than I and perhaps lives in Oz. I do think It's a great idea, though.

Surely its as easy as a few supporters buying 10 reams of paper (that's 5,000 sheets) and printing in large navy blue type:

*
Stand by Hird

Then hand them out on the day with instructions on when to display
What's that gonna cost - $100? I'm sure many of us would tip in some dollars.

Carlton are auctioning off tossing the coin on Saturday night. Thinking about raiding the bank account so I can have a little word with Jobe* pre-game. What would you say if you were out there?
