Whatever you think of warnock we win when he plays
How often was ratten able to pull off a win like that
Criticism of bootsma on rewoldt, well I thought that was what you call player development
Maybe the mc should get some credit for dropping casboult so he comes back a better player
I am concerned that all the recruits turn the ball over and have disposal efficiency in the 50s. When will we recruit some players who can kick?

At end of 1st quarter thought I might be taking the little bloke home early.
Only highlight at that point was we were directly behind the goals and the footy landed 2 people away

2nd quarter great, Brock the saviour
From then on just a good hard game

Nice to go to a game expect not to win, get flogged in the 1st quarter to cement that expectation and leave the ground singing the song after a great turn around :gift:

Today we played like a football team. Relentless attack on ball and pressurising to keep the ball moving forward. There was run and carry from every contest and the boys really put their bodies on the line. All the doubts we had about our endeavour were gone and replaced with what we've been waiting to see all year. Two more weeks like that and we play finals. Unbelievable. Go Blues!

Have just finsihed watching a recording of the game (I know, its about to start again on Foxtel). I wasn't able to watch this afternoon as I was at work, but I did have streaming radio and TC happening, so kept up with results.

Lots of very negative posts on TC which I did not think were justified from the replay. We seem to be a negative bunch on here when there are issues. OK, we got opened up down the guts early, but the effort was pretty good after that. certainly can't complain from qtr time onwards. Some positive moves by MM, players put in, took marks, helped each other, sort of what we should do every week!!

Hope we bring this game next week

Go Blues!

It has to mentioned that the tigers have probably lifted their training over the last few weeks to prepare for the finals. Would explain their inconsistent effort today.

Not saying we didn't play good but we should take into account our oppositions position.

So, what you are sort of saying is that Richmond's performance was affected negatively by an alleged tougher training regime.

Sorry, I don't buy it, and thats putting it politely

I was wrong I interpreted playing with no confidence as not playing for the coach early on.

We still have a lot of talent on our list, we will still turn over 8-10 at the end of the year but if showed we have enough talent existing that can be added too.

Also this will have done Warnock's trade value no harm (if we can get something worthwhile)

Why would you want to lose Warnock after his great tapwork today?

You must be joking. Getting your hand first to the ball and dropping it at your own feet is NOT tapwork. Hitting it to a Richmond player, including the opposing ruckman is NOT tapwork
He is not a tap ruckman's bootlace.
How many times did McLean have to dive at Warnock's feet to get the footy?
Not sure myself but he got pinged twice for htb because of it.
His five around the ground disposals were a bonus, though. He usually only gets one.

And for all the Malthouse lovers, they won that playing the Ratts game plan, which is why MM was trying to break the desk and frothing at the mouth. This list was gathered to play open footy and when they do it, they play good footy. MM likes close in, around the boundary stuff. He'll be spewing at the number of goals we got by playing the corridor.
Great fighting win by the boys and it bodes well for the future. No changes next week and we beat the drug cheats to boot.

Menzel will be a class act.
Graham didn't get many chances but he didn't disgrace himself.
Bell got plenty of it but needs to get used to the pace of the game.
Robbo was Robbo and that's what you get with him. 100% effort with a few shockers thrown in.
Casboult is a better prospect than Rowe but that last kick for goal was a shocker.
Bootsma looks as though he needs a few years in the gym and a suntan and was a bit out of his depth early and didn't really recover.
Touhy very good again
Armfield a good negating game and got it a bit himself.
Best game I've seen from Gibbs for a while. he actually went in and under a couple of times.
Yarran's kicking skills have deserted him. he's like Garlett last year. He did get a few touches and tackled better but his disposal by foot was awful
Hendo great.
Murphy serviceable
Simmo gutsy
Walker serviceable
Jamo killed Jack
Waite up and down
Betts tried to get in to it but lost the handle.
Scotland will be hard to replace
Curnow shut down Cotchin except for about 5 minutes all up, great run with game
McLean will get another contract. Great game from him.

And congratulations to the umpire for his 400th game. Now flower off you're shit.

Except for the backhanded comment about Ratts and Malthouse. I agree with the rest.

How about the last week of the finals?

If that's possible?

Give me a break ffs, the game is played just as much above the shoulders, particularly by the Carlton Football Club

Let's worry about getting there first.

A bit worried Mitch might get a few weeks off. In the first quarter at a ball up he landed a soft but sneaky punch to Martin's midriff, and in the ensuing handbags he appeared to rake his fingers down Martin's face.

Pretty much. You see these sort of results towards the end of every season. Why wouldn't the tigers be doing everything they can training wise to make sure they are prepared for Sept. Hardwick knows what's going on. Hints at it in his presser.

I reckon you will see a different Essendon** next week as they come off their little training booster. Hopefully they are " geared "
to " peak " the weak after next.

Port are not in a position to mess around with their training loads. They need every win.

Hope we don't get too ahead of ourselves after today. Enjoy it but realize our problems still exist.

Good point. Maybe we are geared to finish the season well. Freo and Dogs game sacrificed for a big run home.
