Good side in.
1 tagger (Curnow) and let the others win the ball, Mick.
Great to see Graham and Bell get a guernsey. Just hope Graham doesn't get the vest.
They fell in against us in Round 1. If we're fair dinkum, we should win this.

Glad Casboult's back. He CAN mark. Assett. Can't last 4 Qtrs.
I reckon if 3 talls forward works and creates headaches for them then we can swing Bootsma as a tall lead up target.

Great about Graham. This is senior footy and he has a had an interupted season, so I'd go easy on him and have him as sub.
I wont mind at all if he starts in the 21.

I'd like to see Waite as the 3rd tall.
I'd like to see Walker and Waite swingmen back and forward: weapon.
Mix it up.

Here's my take:

Bootsma Jamison Armfield
Tuohy McInnes Walker

Simpson Murphy Scotland
Warnock Murphy Curnow

Waite Henderson Yarran
Betts Casboult Menzel

Bell McLean Robinson Graham

I really like this team....miss Juddy and kreuzer though.
Would have liked to see what OKeefe could dish out against the Tigers bodies.
Bell will test them out. I hope a few more put in and put off their opponents with toughness.

The spotlight is on Warnock Casboult Betts and Yarran...Walker to a lesser extent.

We are probably going to win this, and if we are allowed to show some flair and endeavour through the midfield I'm sure we'll cut them up...as we did in the 4th Qtr in round 1 encounter when Yarrans last 3 shots at goal could have won it for us, but didnt because he wanted to be fancy.

Come on Yaz...show us what youre really made of.

Good luck toi Graham. If ever a rookie deserved and earned his spot its this guy.
Graham showed up everyone in the preseason, so he's been ready in 2013.
Hope he steals the show.

Do you really believe we can win this one?

I give us buckley's chance of winning. Which means no chance.

We're up against the tide but....

there's lots of reasons why we can win:

Because we are expected to lose now we're (sorta) out of the finals race we might try and show we were worthy of finals.
Players know they are under the microscope and under pump to stay on CFC list and therefore try.
MM may let the boys off the leash at half time rather than last qtr when we faled by only 5 points against them.
Warnock may pull his finger out and show some real desperation to compete like he did in 2011 to increase his value.
MM may go for an attacking midfield.
3 tall marking options for the first time this year with Waite Henderson and Casboult. All very good overhead.
Menzel has shown something as a medium sized forward (ala Hamill), and 2 small forwards is all we need to do the job.
Ability to throw Bootsma and Walker forward and Waite and Hendo can play back...able to mix it up and confuse them.
Richmond making the finals may have gone to their head.
Graham and Bell may make the difference in the middle and feed it out to the runners Murphy, Simmo, Walker, Armfield...
Robinson might show he can play good footy.

Boys might come out and play for a change...with the same desire as the Bulldogs did last week...ie moreso than the opponent.
Things might happen that should have happened this year.
The media has been scathing of the players, and Wallsy has written a negative article about the Bluebaggers.

There you go...plenty of reasons we could win.

Do I think the Blues will win? No. They've let all supporters and themselves down too often to have any confidence.
Do I believe in miracles? Miracles do happen in footy: Refer to 1968 GF, 1970 GF, 1972 GF, 1979 GF, 1981 GF, 1999 Prelim.

COME ON BLUEBAGGERS lets beat these punx.

Waite Hendo and the Bolt in the forward line..... I think this has only happened once during the Port Adelaide game?? I'm not sure. Anyway, two talls yes, three talls, I'm not so keen on.... much like the 3 ruck experiment. Wish we got Kurt Tippet.

I'd play Henderson back, as good as he is forward, he's our best tall defender by a mile. Armfield to be the sub please.

They have Reiwoldt and Vickery up front. We are one tall defender too few. Maybe Hendo will have to go back.

How do you get one? If Hendo goes back and plays on Jack, who plays on Vickery? Simmo? I reckon we're TWO tall defenders short.

Play Waite down back. Hendo up forward.

Graham deserves a full game!

Agree.

The option may be Jamison, Waite, McInnes, Bootsma in defence and Henderson, Casboult & Walker up forward?

Agree...and of that lot of talls MM can easily mix it up....Menzel is similar height to Walker and is a good mark and lead up player with goal kicking skills.

Lets get Richmond on the back foot. Looks like in this game we will have good marking targets

It all boils down to what we dish out in the midfield...without Kreuzer Judd and Carrazzo.

Come on mids fire up

So we get it in our 50 and press up. So they throw 80% of there team in their back half absorbing what our pressure (which is not much pressure). They gain possession and the slingshot is on (they like to play like this). They break our press and burst forward. Our last line of Waite, Jamo, McInness and Bootsma are left bolting back, tracking their runs and trying to remain goal side. Somehow I don't think that is going to work. We will be stuffed. A disaster and not the way the modern game is played.
We might stop one or two goals via spoils in attacks different to the one described above but we will pay big time not being able to keep up when they break and spread.

We will get overrun today with this lineup. Not enough true run in the team. Our best hope is that the tigers have ramped up their training and have an eye to the finals and we catch them off guard. Upsets against top 6 teams at this time of the year are not rare.

I don't think we need the extra tall but we have to play one because henda or waite cant play ruck.

So for starters I would use Jamo, Bootsma and Mcinnes as defenders and surround them by mobile running players. Touhy Walker Simpson or Gibbs.

Play Henda, Waite and Casboult up forward.

Have we got extra talls? I don't class McInnes, Bootsma as key talls. They are mobile players and should be developed that way.

Jamison on Reiwoldt, Waite on Vickery & McInnes on McGuane. IMO that matches up fairly well. Really like to see Bootsma as a running HB/Winger.

The key is the mids, Curnow on Delidio and back Gibbs, Murphy, Tuohy, McLean, Bell, Graham, Robinson to win enough ball.

What I hope happens is the small forwards saw what Whitecross, Rioli, Puopolo, Bruest did last night. Their tackling and pressure was fantastic. It creates goals, lifts the intensity of the side and enables more rest for mids if ball is held inside 50. It's vital and we haven't done it all year.
