Good luck young Graham.Good to see Levi and Tommy back in.Extra grunt..................Tigers all credit to them, they are playing well.A good side, but not that good and far from a champion team. There is nothing to be afraid of.Take 'em on boys. This is a game that we can win and i believe we will.

I really like this team.
Glad Casboult's back. He CAN mark. Assett. Can't last 4 Qtrs.
I reckon if 3 talls forward works and creates headaches for them then we can swing Bootsma as a tall lead up target.

Great about Graham. This is senior footy and he has a had an interupted season, so I'd go easy on him and have him as sub.
I wont mind at all if he starts in the 21.

I'd like to see Waite as the 3rd tall.
I'd like to see Walker and Waite swingmen back and forward: weapon.
Mix it up.

Here's my take:

Bootsma Jamison Armfield
Tuohy McInnes Walker

Simpson Murphy Scotland
Warnock Murphy Curnow

Waite Henderson Yarran
Betts Casboult Menzel

Bell McLean Robinson Graham

I really like this team....miss Juddy and kreuzer though.
Would have liked to see what OKeefe could dish out against the Tigers bodies.
Bell will test them out. I hope a few more put in and put off their opponents with toughness.

The spotlight is on Warnock Casboult Betts and Yarran...Walker to a lesser extent.

We are probably going to win this, and if we are allowed to show some flair and endeavour through the midfield I'm sure we'll cut them up...as we did in the 4th Qtr in round 1 encounter when Yarrans last 3 shots at goal could have won it for us, but didnt because he wanted to be fancy.

Come on Yaz...show us what youre really made of.

Good luck toi Graham. If ever a rookie deserved and earned his spot its this guy.
Graham showed up everyone in the preseason, so he's been ready in 2013.
Hope he steals the show.

Waite in defence
Tuohy, Gibbs around ball. I want to see us play offensively around the ball and try and grow our midfield.
Yarran on a wing.

Do you really believe we can win this one?

I give us buckley's chance of winning. Which means no chance.

http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/essendon-players-were-to-receive-1500-injections-according-to-afl-charge-sheets/story-fndv8gad-1226698051540
Quote:
Essendon** players were to receive 1500 injections of AOD-9604 and Thymosin, according to an AFL charging document seen by the Herald Sun.

The document also states more than 16,500 doses of Colostrum and 8000 doses of Tribulus were planned.

The revelations come as lawyers for Essendon** and club officials James Hird, Mark Thompson, Dr Bruce Reid and Danny Corcoran prepare a strong defence to charges they have brought the game into disrepute.

In an echo of the Essendon-commissioned Ziggy Switkowski report, the charging summary says Essendon** and officials had engaged in conduct prejudicial to the AFL because the club had implemented a "scientifically pioneering program".

The charge sheet also says the club allowed the administering of prohibited drugs or alternatively is unable to determine whether players were administered substances prohibited by the AFL anti-doping code and World Anti-Doping Agency code.

It is understood lawyers acting for Essendon** and club figures will argue that few if any of the grounds for the laying of charges can be sustained because:

THE AFL must prove there was conduct - which became public - that has discredited the game.

THE Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Act does not allow for a joint investigation with the AFL.

THE AFL or ASADA must prove the central substance in the Bombers program- anti-obesity product AOD-9604 - has not been passed fit for human consumption.

THERE are legal impediments - including privacy reasons - that do not allow the AFL to use ASADA's 400-page interim report as evidence in hearing the charges.

It is understood that AFL investigators recorded their own information during the joint AFL-ASADA investigation, with a strong focus on governance issues.

The league is comfortable with the amount - and level - of information it has as a basis for hearing the charges, separate to ASADA's report.

Lawyers in Essendon**'s camp may now argue information collected during the period of the joint investigation should not be used, and are also questioning the validity of the Switkowski report as evidence.

The document alleges some at the club engaged in practices that exposed players to significant risks to their health and the use of supplements prohibited under the WADA code.

Other allegations include:

THE program was to push the legal limits.

THE program involved the use of allegedly "beneficial" and "exotic" compounds.

THE program's fitness strategy and use of supplements varied sharply to previous practices at Essendon**.

IT involved injecting players with abnormal frequency.

THAT club figures were aware that the implementation of the program was determined without meaningful input from appropriately qualified people.

An AFL Commission hearing is set for August 26 - but sources on both sides of the case have indicated that a court of law, at a time yet to be determined, is the more likely venue.

It is believed lawyers for the Bombers will maintain that AOD-9064 is approved for human therapeutic use in Australia when supplied by a compounding pharmacist and therefore has Therapeutic Goods Administration approval in Australia.

This would not allow for it to be banned under WADA's SO category. WADA has maintained its stance that the drug is banned under this category.

The summary does not elaborate on whether the Thymosin referred to is the approved Thymosin Alpha or the banned Thymosin beta 4.

Colostrum is extract of cows' first milk while Tribulus is a plant extract purported to boost testosterone levels.

Walls two years ago told carlton hierarchy that Robinson, armfield, weren't good enough so how is that a malthouse problem.

He also said in his column or on 3aw last year that Carlton's kicking efficiency out of the back inline was a major weakness so in this article he criticises the move of Simpson an walker back, who have improved us and says Duigan and laidler should be used as support. Duigans kicking was a problem last year and pace this year. He isn't the solution. Laidler was shot at the start of the season. Why do you think malthouse persists with bootsma and Mcinnes? Because they are reasonable kicks.

Walls criticises only playing 3 new players under 23? Malthouse isn't responsible for having 6 picks in 2 years and using 1 on Rowe

He criticises selecting Rowe over casboult. Casboult has more upside but in 4 of his 7 games has gone missing. Rowe deserved a shot and mm is trying to get the consistency, fitness message through to casboult

We offered Roos the job. He said no. He doesn't want us and one year wouldn't make a difference.
The people he refers to as money men were asked to help by sticks and they would be happy to leave if someone was willing to throw there back in. Walls shouldn't infer that Matheson and pratt's are on a power kick. Why hasn't walls stood for the board?

Pleased to see Bell and Graham in. Especially Bell. Casboult for Rowe was overdue. Cachia's looked cooked for a couple of weeks as well. Always like seeing Robbo in the team. Whatever happens, can't see us being absolutely steamrolled at clearances like we were last week.

Don't mind this ... except I'd swap Murphy for Graham. Put the lad in the middle and simply tell him to go get it.

Agree.... let him loose! :fight:

About time with these ins!
Graham has been going gang-busters but last week in the vfl he just looked a bit tired for the first time - probably why he is sub.
EDIT: Hope what I said here holds - didn't realise that wasn't the official team!

Analytical, methodical and precise.

What about his article he wrote prior to our friday night game against Essenscum that stated we could win the flag.

Walls is a bitter fool who was a mentor to Ratts and hates MM.

Ive so missed The Bulldozer Bell. Need that added Grunt around the ball. He was in great form last year as he was getting games and his confidence grew, this year hasnt had a look in? I dont know why?

Bell has been winning heaps of hard ball in the vfl and breaking tackles. BUT his use of the ball by hand and foot is too often poor - he's similar to Robbo but suspect he might be a bit smarter and can improve this.

Henderson, Touhy, McInnis, Menzel, Graham and Bell - hopefully they can show some heart, skill and most importantly leadership.

After these inclusions there is literally nothing left in the twos. The cupboards are bare, so our hope is left to these guys to take us forward, as the others have failed to deliver when given the chance.

They are a semblance of our team for the future - at the moment it's slim pickings.

He doesn't have the greatest leg speed but I am sick of yelling out 'TACKLE!' at games so at least he can take care of that.
