Warnock's Round 4-9 was excellent. If he can reproduce that form our mids don't have many excuses.

..with our current mid set-up, tapwork is wasted.. ..Knockers one decent trait [not great but he's decent] is wasted.. ..same reason why some didn't think much of krooz tap work.. ..the mids are off.. ..knockers needs to improve what he does after the tap, cos thats the only real gain we get out of the ruck..

Couldn't care less about this game generally, but it will be good to see Menzel / Graham and any other kids if they play

I wouldn't be surprised if morale is at an all time low at the moment...Judd / Malthouse saying the list is ordinary, threats of culling the list at the end of the year, negative media attention etc...

I thought Warnock beat Minson last week (and given Minson is being talked up as all-australian that's a pretty good feat from our number 2 ruck) ... our mids were just too p!sspoor top make any use of it. The one time Murphy did get the clearance (3rd quarter from memory) he kicked it to the advantage of our forward who marked and goaled.

I'd be playing Warnock for the last 3 weeks as first ruck. Kreuzer can be rested for another week at least, Carazzo has proved calf injuries take more than one week to recover from anyway. If Warnock can get the scalps of Maric, Bellchambers and Lobbe it'll boost his trade value immeasurably. We don't need three ruckmen on the list taking up over $1m of the salary cap when you can realistically only play one at a time given the three man interchange set-up. Kreuzer as first ruck with Hampson in reserve, supported by Rowe or Casboult as the secondary options on gameday, should suffice. We then rookie list a ruck as back-up on minimum wage (which Collingwood and Richmond have done this year to good effect) or take someone late in the draft as a development option.

We need to start playing the long game here and that's trying to improve our list through the trade and free agency period. Overloading on one area (ie rucks) whilst we have so many other defficiencies is just poor management.

Don't mind this ... except I'd swap Murphy for Graham. Put the lad in the middle and simply tell him to go get it.

IMO he wasn't excellent but he was the best ruckman of the 3 we had playing at the time.

The game with the 3 ruckmen against Saints in rnd 7, I thought McEvoy won that battle handsomely.
McEvoy was jumping into Warnock to great effect.

I've been a fan of Warnock as our first ruck, but he'd have to show more desire and strength than he did last week for me to even want him at Carlton.

Compare his upper body muscle development in the WCE 2011 final and last week and it seems he's lost body mass and definetely was easy to push off.
Doesn't seem to havethe strength he had and definetely not the strength required to battle it out with most 1st ruckmen IMO.

can we please finally get rid of the cancer that is Brock Mclean on this club. For too long he has been the cause of bad things and we will never be anything with him in the team. he does some good things on field but overwhelmingly stuffs up more times than not. to make matters worse it was his wayward kick to chris Judd in the pocket that injured his knee. No Brock, judd would be playing. I wont go on any more about this but please ppl stop sticking up for this selfish mug

Brock McLean rarely makes a mistake ... and has been close to our best player this year.

On another issue ... surely the MC can't stuff it up again this week. Is it too much to ask to have a bit of vision and courage. With all these outs ... surely surely surely we will see something this week.

Does anyone else actually get the feeling that we might play better without Judd??

Yes, I do- I believe this is where MM's salient quality as a coach will shine. To eventually spread the load amongst the 22 players......

I feel the same way about Eddie Betts. Perhaps they may kick it to a Key position player for a mark, instead of the forward who is 3ft and supposed to be crumbing.

Well for starters, how many tackles does Judd average per game?

Patrick Keane ‏@AFL_PKeane 1m

Carlton has re-instated Patrick McCarthy to the senior list from long-term injury list. Jaryd Cachia now upgraded in place of Simon White.

Are we playing this weekend? When? When?

I need to fit it in around my obsession with the Essendon* drugs saga.

If the boys could play roughly one quarter before meekly succumbing so I can then turn my attention back towards Windy Hill then it would be greatly appreciated
