Saturday we had; Armfield, Menzell, Yarran, Simpson, Walker, Tuohy, Gibbs, Watson, Henderson, Waite, Jamison, Bootsma
Betts, Garlett, Scotland, (15) players make no contribution in the midfield.
I wonder why we lost

Who had the last laugh?

Grigg was an average player who needed to some time to develop. He is now playing regular football and has developed into a good running midfielder who can kick goals.

Collins was an average player and a hack. He went backwards by getting delisted into the Rookie list and is certain to be removed completely by end of year.

That is just one chapter of the miserable Recruitment that we never seem to get right :(

Grigg decided to walk out of the club and was going to Richmond via the Pre Season draft - not a lot our recruiting dept could have done in the circumstances.

Except fill the spot on the list with a decent player

Richmond game plan (saw it against freo) they like to get back and crowd the opp fwd line. Then run it out towards there fwd line with all the space for there fwds to lead into. This is why we must chandge our game plan no more long kicks to our congested fwd line turn the ball over and away rich go, change it mick?

Ratten's style always blew the Tigers away, even when we adopted it in the 2nd half of Round 1. Something to ponder.

Drop Jamison.

Rowe on Vickery/Maric, Waite on Reiwoldt, McInnes on McGuane. Henderson, Casboult and Duigan up forward.

Drop Jamison and keep Rowe - I must have missed something because whilst Jamison hasn't been playing well rowe in the last 3 games has been almost our worst player - slow to recover when the ball hits the ground and hasn't taken a mark to save himself leyt alone crash any packs or make a mark - will be dropped for casboult - expect Mcinnes if fit to play

At least this thread should "out page" the GC, Freo and Doggies pre-game threads.

Rowe has been awful. That has been as a forward relief Ruckman.

Prior to being brought back in he was playing as a key defender in the Northern Blues and performing well.

Jamison is performing poorly and we lack some real size in defence. He is also a good match up for Vickery & Maric as they rotate through the forward pocket.

Worth a shot.

Rowe has been inept. If / when he drops it, he throws his arms out and falls to ground, whilst the opposition clears. Casboult >>>>> Rowe. Watson's stint forward recently >>>>> Rowe.

Listening to Walker on SEN, a few home truths have been discussed internally. We will win :-)

We hear something like this every time we have a shit game. I'm sick of talk, we want action.

Ratten also knew how to beat Geelong and Collingwood

But without Judd and Jeffy will be very tough. Novel idea that might catch the Tiges napping....start Yarran on the ground. All I want to see is some pride in the jumper and no bombing down the line. What price both those things happening ??

Graham, Levi in for Judd, Rowe
McIness for Watson
Bell, Robinson for Garlett and Scotland(injured)
Tell Bell and Robinson to take no prisoners.
At least hurt them

And just for the record, we are still 3 Midfielders Short. Add Judd to that and its 4....

We need at least 3 midfielders to come straight into the Side. Graham, Bell & Ellard should come in....

Ellard does offer something..... he is a forgotten man at Carlton!!!

Bloody Malthouse

I Pray for Malthouse to take charge of Recruiting and clean up our list. He has a proven good record of recruiting average players and turning them into robots.

I am excited and I have full faith in him that he will bring some decent players to Carlton. However the damage has been done, and now it is a reality that its going to take us another 3-4 years to see some results.
