One more week closer to 2015...
One more result that makes it slightly more likely it may be worth watching.

I'm satisfied with the idea that Malthouse will leave us in a position similar to that of Barassi at the Swans.

Not so certain that we'll be smart enough to get our Eade to take us the rest of the way though. Bring on the off-season.

We may even get Eade then. He'd be late 50's around that time.

Pretty sick of our players standing around watching the opposition run away with the ball. Put some flower pressure on the ball carrier and don't try to anticipate where the ball is going to be passed to.

Interesting comment from mm in his press conference, along the lines of....the team walked down the race pre game with the game plan in their minds, then failed to execute it in the first quarter.

Dumb players.

Why not a young gun with new fresh ideas ala Hardwick?

It was a reflection of our previous coach hunting where age was not a concern. Tongue in check, sorry Warburton

I'd like to think someone comes along from under the MM wing to take control but obviously not within the current group.

Anyone who has played or coached knows that excuse is nonsense.
1 player doesnt make that much difference. Look at Gold Coast. In their first year they had the best player in the game but they were still woeful. 1 player can improve your stocks marginally but to suggest we were a competitive finals team because of Judd is ludicrous.

without Judd I don't think we would have made those 3 consecutive finals series

the last two years with his decline has shown what little depth we have in the midfield

Judd of 2010 would've dragged us over the line against the dogs.

Top post Blue Vain. Well done? Sorry I should have explained that there were other players out on the field too. What-a-mistake-a-make-a.

Back to the real world. Look at our ladder position in the two years prior to Judd to see what an immediate impact that he had. His rapid decline in output has alot to do with that load he carried. I hope the desire is still there because he will pull the pin if it isn't.

Murphy is a good enough footballer to have stepped up to take over from Judd to some degree and his form this year is deplorable and not acceptable from a Carlton captain. Like Johnston in the 80s, he should be a 1 year captain. We may need to move on him in the trade period of 2014 and we can't if he is captain

Henderson should be captain

I think Murphy has proven he isn't soft, he does go when he needs too, and against some serious hard nuts in Hodge and Danger.

His year has been very poor by his standards, but I believe next year after an interrupted Pre-season he will be back.

Hopefully he also addresses the feeble attempts to beat a tag

Not saying that Murphy is soft, however he is cutting corners at the moment. He has always played for frees, but he is doing this as first option atm, rather than winning the ball. Why, injury? Low in confidence? Who knows. But removing the captaincy may actually help him and it makes it easier foe the club to pull the trigger next year if that form does not come back.

He's not soft, but he's not Captain material.
It's effecting him, and it's effecting the team. Time to own up to the mistake, and give it to someone else.

The worst part for me is that I have no confidence that the club will do a re-build properly. We'll likely take short cuts AGAIN.
