Anyone hear Cookie. Thought he described exactly why Ratten failed.
Basically when picking chris scott; they started with type of coach they wanted. And for them most important was ability to manage (50% weighting) as the role included 12 direct reports and leading 120 staff. Ability to technically coach came third in their assessment. Reading between lines, cultural fit came second.

Ratten ok with 2 and 3; but not good enough with most important.
MM 1 is covered. 2 is no, but thats good thing. 3 competent.

Yep,Brian Cook.He was our first choice CEO wasnt he ? big mistake not getting him.I would still try to get him.And if that proved impossible i would scour the land to find a new up and coming potential Brian Cook. Not Brian Cook, but the NEXT Brian Cook. Its not so much as who is the best, but who is the young up and comer who is gonna go on and become the best.

And Brian Cook/the next Brian Cook would want to work under Kernahan and his board? Not likely. If you're the best, or you aspire to be the best, you make a conscious decision to only work with the best. I'd love to have Cook, but why would he want to work at Carlton?

What's so bad about the coach delivering a short message to a group of supporters pre-game?

Not that I'm full of praise for waste management kings, dodgy doctors & pokie barons, but do you reckon Mick's telling them anything different to what he's just told the TV cameras?... The only difference between our coterie group & those at other foundation clubs is ours is in the media more often.

Like i keep saying... its no coincidence this guy has been around the club for the duration of our very darest era.
He is our Hird.. just Hird completely brought them down fast... this guy is doing us slowly.

This is what happens when you confuse a bogan footballer with a president.

And he never comes up from the bunker.. hes hiding.... he wants that 15oth season gig.
He is Sticks!!!

Hello,
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone home?

Come on
Now
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again

Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
But I can't hear what you're saying

When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like
Two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain
You would not understand
This is not how I am

I... Have become comfortably numb

O.K.
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more aaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick

Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working
Good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on
It's time to go

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
But I can't hear what you're saying

When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye

I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I... Have become comfortably numb

IT's more than that. We've prostituted ourselves. We have the Edelsten Cafe, the Edelsten Pool, the Zac Fried Shop, Visy Park and the debt being paid off by pokies. Brynne Edelston parading her dogs in view of the players as they're warming up pre-game and a board that wouldn't know the first thing about 21st century governance and transparency.

If we want corporate governance for Essendon*, we need corporate governance for Carlton.

We like getting stuck into lack of corporate governance at the scum, but think about Carlton for a moment.

Who on the board was present at the club whilst the club cheated the salary cap with brown paper bags?

Of course performance enhancing substances and salary cap cheating are different, but still, think about it...don't be hypocrites.

That Edelsten story sickens me. Disgusting. Amazing that we're still beholden to '80s dinosaurs like Sticks and the quack

Our board are a bunch of egotists with no spine - all with individual interests as their priority. The club is being run like the modern day equivalent of the 70's & 80's, headed mainly by ex Collingwood staffers, or past Carlton champions. The politics at this club is bringing it down, whilst externally to the media may not seem the case, it is alive and eating it away.

Can someone with decent business nous and true leadership step up to the plate and save this club before they start losing their members and supporters!!!

He should stand down (not by his man) as we failed to make finals on the back of more expectations.

All Directors resign and let the Members decide by a full election after a proper election process with candidates nominating.

Too radical idea?

I'm not likely to walk into the other clubs' facilities, but I'll bet they've all got some sort of name on them..... What if he let you motorboat Brynne's twins? Would that square the ledger?

I don't like the pokie money either, but only because the goal posts are due to shift, potentially leaving us with a sizeable hole in revenues.
