Hopefully now with Geelongs previous 2IC and the experienced Malthouse we will get things right but I suspect success is not realistic for the Judd, Waite, Carrazzo, Simpson, Scotland, McLean era

McLean is only 27.....28 next year; and playing the best footy of his career....he's not finished.

I remember when we recruited Robinson club said he's a really good kick ??!!!!!

WTF Hughes!!!!

Obviously poise wasn't a recruitment criteria

Good on Mick this week saying hardness isn't the only thing needed !

I still maintain 20 players need to go, more if you include the older Gen

The scary thing is Murphy will be 30 in about 5 years

Are we starting over? Not exactly but it's certainly a major adjustment of the plan

The articles are right in so far as club over estimated the list. Else club sprinkling the virtue of the list was little more than propaganda to sell memberships

Yes but he's slow. Needs to be hidden in a FP half the time

My point is he may hit the wall sooner than later hence he arguably goes into that group

Won't get any quicker you realize

These articles are very basic but one other good point is we haven't drafted any match winning types

Where's our Dangerfield?

Lets face it without Saad issue and obviously the cheating of BUMMERS there would be more of these articles
Another pre-season and season of underperformance - diabolical approach to recruiting in the off season -really poor start 3 -0 before we start -inability to win games in a row ,loss to stkilda earlier -inability to beat good sides, inability to win close games, inability to have working forward line ,not enough rotations in the middle - poor skills and kicking for goal - getting regularly smashed out of middle - either muddled game plan or failure of players to adhere to it

Another lamentable September watching other teams/enemies -Collingwood hawthorn bloody Richmond playing deep into finals

Yeah, why don't we just grab 3 Dangerfields in the next draft, that should solve our midfield problem.

Sorry BB... I agree with most of what you said except this part... we've had a decade to overcome these penalties

We've all seen the evidence ie. recruited list of players under Hughes and co. Pick the right players as other clubs have done (without the luxury of several number one picks), and those initial penalties would be a distant memory.

"The Champ" aka the gameplan turns 30 this year and is a shadow of his former self... has been since Oscar was born last year tbh

Now others have to pick up the slack and our weak underbelly has been exposed... Carrots & Simpson are aging... Murphy & Gibbs ousiders... McLean is limited... Lucas & Armfield just ok... Curnow, Robinson, Ellard, Cachia, Joseph, Bell etc are just plodders imo

That's just the mids... we also have issues with kpp as well.
We need to get it right this offseason otherwise we could find ourselves in a world of hurt

Not just a really good kick, I distinctly remember Hughes also stating he was the ninth best player in the whole draft according to our list and we were stoked to get him at 40.

Just a blast from the past, here's his U-18 highlights

Couple of good disposals but a lot of them are still high blazes which are all too familiar characteristics.

Perhaps this is why G.Ablett is now the better player. Children after you've finished your career please.

Sorry are you taking the piss?? Or are you just clueless??

How many draft picks have we had over the last decade? How many high picks?

Ok, now you've got your head around that concept, how many stars who regularly can impact the result of a game by their own deeds have we recruited???

I'd argue the last two players we had who fall under this category are Judd and Fevola

Get it?????

Why? He is right. Players couldn't even respond today to prove him wrong

Another MM failure I'm afraid.

He's turned an average side into a shit side.

Malthouse has tried to teach a team the way to win finals, the players failed. They will suffer as a result.
