What a joke!!
We always shit ourselves every time we need to make a statement.
Too physically and mentally soft.
Can't wait to trade one if Yarran, Betts or Garlett. Bwtts thinks he's worth 600,000 ? See ya!!
Robbo should @#$%&! off back to the VFL never to return. Most annoying Carlton player at the moment.
Murphy is a shit Captain and is mentally soft.
Gibbs is a downhill skier personified.
So very disappointed!! Once again we let ourselves be bullied.
Season as good as over!!

Have stayed out the debate, as can see the importance in both but tonight the points went to midfield. Easily.

Name Freo's above average tall forwards that won the game for them tonight......

I thought for 3 and a bit quarters we really tried but we simply are not good enough. we all now must realize we need to turn this list over to be competitive towards the top end and to play the style of accountable football that finals demands.

Got a real lesson tonight from a team that is in front of most of these above elements in my opinion.

Think tonight showed the difference between a good coach and one that has passed his use by date

Sydney- the age old debate coach v cattle. I personally (and its my opinion only) is that I think the accountable style of one on one Footy that MM is trying to play is more attuned to finals. Problem is that we probably don't have the list to put it in place as well as we all would like and finals are some way off.

I just want some bigger bodied boys who can make tackles stick and break them as well.... And who are prepared to run both ways. Too much running left to too few. That's not going to fix all of our issues right away but we look a long way off it so its going to be a lot of things to make us competitive again

Gibbs did a fantastic job on Mayne.
All those people bagging Lyon need to smarten up. 31 scoring shots. No Pav no Mcfarlin. No ibottson. All about discipline and structure. And small forwards who like body contact.
The days of blokes who can't kick are well and truly over.
You must be composed.

Okay, lets stick with the very average ones then and just splurge on midfielders, no matter how good bad or indifferent they are. :? :banghead:

Yep , hard running mids are where it's at.

People keep saying good mids are a dime a dozen that's just crap they may be more plentiful but you need more of them.

Tonight was always going to give us our best indication of where we are and it was a Very disappointing night.

Simply we aren't good enough. We don't win enough ball around the midfield and all over the ground and when we do our ball use is poor.

Too many players that are inconsistent and don't contribute over 4 quarters.

Big clean out at years end.

Of the few positives I could see.

Watson showed a little bit as a forward.
Gibbs was good in defence on Mayne.
Tuohy offensively a highlight. Thought Walters beat him though.

Season on the line in the last quarter and we just folded as though we weren't even on the field.

Absolutely shithouse we don't deserve to play finals, Malthouse is a failure in his first season forget about this year look to the future at the trade table but I don't know another team that would want our half triers on their list.

PATHETIC :donk:

One of the big reasons the midfield got smashed was because Warnock didn't play.

Kreuzer and Rowe against Sandilands and Clarke.

Dominated the midfield last week against a midget ruck....this week the ruck battle was decisive.

Kreuzer smashed GC last week....this week against two giants he struggled and then you had Rowe in there.

Kreuzer really struggles at centre bounces against the giant rucks.

think you can put a line thru Warnock. if he didn't play tonight, he's not playing again. Taller than everyone else in the team, but equally as soft.

It appears MM has, however the midfield wouldn't have beaten as badly had he been there. We've all seen Kreuzer struggle previously against Sandilands/Clarke.

Can't believe all you people saying Squibbs played a great game. He is one of the laziest, gutless, over-rated players ever to pull on a navy jumper. Doesn't run hard the other way, rarely puts his body on the line, and every time he should sacrifice his position or possession for the greater good he does the selfish thing. His inability to chase and pressure allowed them 2 coast to coast goals tonight. He should be our biggest trade bait at the end of the year.

Is this a football competition between 18 AFL clubs trying to win games and ultimately premierships or does it all revolve around how Carlton lose? Does the wind change on our most recent loss when trying to determine who to recruit?

I was more impressed with Freo than disappointed in us.
