the 6/5 split does not apply for 2006 due to the unavailability of the MCG due to reconstruction works following the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Maybe all the "Collo's a prick, I'm setting fire to my membership" cries were a tad premature.

With only one game at Footy Park I only get to see one Carlton game live for about the 15th straight year. We usually play at least two over here but that pisses me off. Im sure it keeps you guys happy who get to see the Blues play every week but it pisses me off.

Anyone gots tickets+accomidation+extra travel costs for me to come see a few home games this year.

Pretty sure the Blues have had two games in Adelaide for the last two seasons at least...

After that, under the current arrangements, the6/5 split applies. Although I don't know why we wouldn't be playing more matches at the Dome, but that's just me.

Sticks, thanks for the clarification. I don't think that this was clear last year when they made the deal. For me the more games at the G the better. I can walk there from home. ;)

Taking my bias out of it I still think that long term we would be better at the G. We have the opportunity for bigger crowds. Hence, more exposure. Hence, more supporters and revenue. To me TD is a boutique stadium which OO was.

I don't think anyone (other than MCB perhaps) said anything like that. In my opinion, blame rests with the AFL. So CFC were to get 2 out of their allotted 5 home MCG games in the first four weeks of the season? In other words, our first two home games. Please... I can understand one less MCG home game (all the MCG clubs should share the pain), but two is unacceptable. The AFL hide behind the cover of the Commonwealth Games, but they will do anything they can to promote their own stadium at the expense of Melbourne's premier stadium.

.

"The split will be 6-4-1 in 2004 and then 6-5 from then on, oh except in 2006, and except in .... and don't forget ...."

Typical, honestly typical

woo hoo! (been a couple of years since we've had a Sydney game!)

hope it's at SCG quite frankly - bars are easier to get to!

Rich

looking foward to it already. the SCG is a great place to watch the game. much better atmosphere than Stadium Australia. and yes the pubs, after round 22 i'd say we will need a few of those.

the Bat and Ball (?) is a good start

Draw is now released - the following is the comment about our draw on afl.com:

Quote:
CARLTON:
Football: You would have hoped last year's wooden spooners would receive a good draw and Blues' fans can breathe a sigh of relief that this is the case. The Blues play just two of last year's finalists twice while they have avoided the maximum six interstate trips by only being allocated one trip to Adelaide. However the Blues again copped two trips to Perth and for the fourth straight season the Blues begin with an away game - against Melbourne at Telstra Dome.
Commercial: The cash-strapped Blues have fared well here also with home games against each of the club's three greatest rivals; Collingwood, Essendon* and Richmond while they again have a Friday night home game against Hawthorn, a match which drew a huge crowd for the Blues in 2005.

It will be nice to get to a point where we're not described as cash-strapped in every article. Might take a few more years unfortunately.

I know I've called it early but my vote is for a TC squad trip to Sydney to watch us in Rd 22. Gezman & Deano have made the trip down to Vic, I reckon it's our turn to head up there for the game. And the SCG is a great ground, & we won't have to worry about September..

Finally a game in Sydney. But why round 22. They must really hate us up here. At least if it was early in the season I could approach the game with some optimism.

How far in advance can you book tickets?

Geelong have got our horror stretch from 2005

11 Friday 9-Jun Essendon* Telstra Dome home 7:40pm
12 Saturday 17-Jun Fremantle Subiaco away 2:10pm
13 Sunday 2-Jul Adelaide AAMI Stadium away 12:40pm
14 Saturday 8-Jul Carlton Telstra Dome away 2:10pm
