We'll win this.

Collingwoods work rate was piss poor.

Yep. Got our work cut out for us on this trip.

Full strength side required. Don't have the luxury to even contemplate resting players.

You would hope there is now ZERO chance of any complacency.

Surely Graham gets his chance this week? Menzel as well?

Their win over Collingwood has got to be good for us. Hopefully they'll be feeling a little less hungry next week.

No reason we shouldn't take them seriously now

The players should avoid the Gold Coast theme parks this time around.

Focus on the task at hand.

Malthouse admitted after the game last night that they have been looking at resting McInnes, so I won't be surprised if he doesn't make this interstate trip. I guess his replacement is a choice between Bootsma, Laidler and White. I would say that White is the likely choice, but I wouldn't mind seeing Laidler getting a go. I'm sure that Jamo would enjoy having him back there. We might be too slow in defence though with Watson & Laidler playing together.

I think we need to change things up in the midfield a bit. What do we do about Carrots? He doesn't look right to me. Do we back him in or do we rest him? Or does he need another run in the VFL? Armfield looked a bit flat last night too. How is Cachia feeling? Brock? Scotland? How did Murph pull up? I reckon 2 of those guys will come out for Robbo (assuming he avoids suspension from today's VFL game) & Graham. It depends who is the most sore, but on form I think Carrots & Armfield might be the two.

I'm assuming Waite needs another week.....

In: White, Robbo, Graham
Out: McInnes, Carrots, Armfield

Tuohy Jamo White
Walker Watson Simmo
Curnow Judd Lucas
Garlett Hendo Murphy
Betts Rowe Robbo

Kreuzer Gibbs Cachia

Inter: Brock, Scotland, Yarran
Sub: Graham

You might be right, and normally I'd agree with that, but on form I think I would go Curnow on him. Carrots doesn't look right to me and Ablett would really work him over. It might be good for Cachia's education to have some time on him too, so rotate the two of them? Mix that up with having Judd and Murphy going head to head with him for periods - try to hurt him the other way at times.

Carrots started like the players we know. He simply ran out of legs. He'll be fine in another 2 weeks, once he gets the work into him again.
He stays as far as I'm concerned. Integral part of our midfield and I think Mick knows that now.

I'm a big fan of Carrots, so whatever gets him back near his best. I thought he might benefit from a rest, but it's true that some players don't. He might not benefit from a rest, we might need to keep running him - whether it be in the AFL or VFL. Does his form warrant continued AFL selecion? 18 disposals and 8 tackles is a pass mark for most players, so it's possible my expectations of him are too high. It's hard to predict changes without being inside the club and knowing how players are feeling and if they are following the coach's instructions (but it's fun to speculate!)...

Why do people think I'm dropping Kreuzer for form related issues? He's been rucking solo for weeks...

O'Meara is the other danger

He is the next Judd

GC will be scary in the next few years

Was thinking similar, but more along the lines of the difference between playing without fear compared to coping with expectation.

They've only two in a row once and that was back to back wins against Melbourne and WB.

Last year after beating us, they were thumped by 16 goals the following week.

Collingwoods work rate wad similar to the Port game at AAMI a month a go. Can get themselves up in front of 80k against the old enemy, but treated yesterday like a holiday.

Carrazzo is playing OK. Like most of our midfield rotation, he's doing defensive roles. His job on Swallow was successful and he kept Swallow to 20 possies.
At some stage hopefully Mick will realise you cant keep tagging all the opposition players and be a successful team.
Gibbs on Ziebell was a farce. Sorry but Ziebell hasnt been that good.

Hopefully against GC we'll tag Ablett with Carrazzo, O'Meara with Curnow and let the others actually run a proper midfield combination.
At the moment Murphy and Judd are our only midfielders with a mindset of winning the ball.
Not only does it limit our ball winning, it gives the opposition the upper hand in the midfield structure. If Cachia cant contribute with purely tagging, drop him and bring in Graham.
Put Simpson back to the attacking wing as he has rediscovered his form and confidence after having his jaw smashed last year. Some of his marks were ultra courageous Fridaty night. It will also release Scotland back to his defensive wing role.
We have to see if he can cut it still as he's struggling minding a man. Perform or make way for someone else time for Scotland.

My team, bring in Robbo and Graham. Forget the bullshit forward tag for Robinson and place him, Graham and Gibbs into an offensive midfield rotation.
I forward tag (Armfield), 2 midfield tags (Ablett, O'Meara) and actually go out to win the ball.

Lets be honest, if North had kicked half straight when they dominated the game, they would have beaten us easily.
We cant expect to win many games winning 290 possessions. Once again we won the contested possessions but got smashed at the uncontested. Release some of the tags.
