Glad I'll be out this Friday night. If we win I watch the replay when I get home, if we lose I miss the kangaroos/Friday night/ch 7 wankfest

He's already hinted that it's on the way. :banghead:

So with no change and Hendo down back, how do you see us lining up in the forward half?

Can't see us with any real potency to be honest.

I'd play the extra tall back. Henderson on Petrie, Jamison on Tarrant, McInness on Black. Play Watto as third man up, and try and get all play through him off half back.

Nothing wrong with winning ugly, and I think for us to win this game its going to try and be one of those games we need to win say 8 goals to 6. Also gives SFA space for Thomas to move around in as well.

I say this not only because they don't particularly have a player who's particularly damaging off half back who's going to set up plays good enough to beat the flood, but also get into their heads. If we're two goals down at the last change, they will shit themselves.

Doc made a great point that Henderson nullifying Petrie is a better result for us than him struggling to 2-3 goals on Scott Thompson. Going to have a harder task on Thompson (and a team with a defender who can go third man up) than he did an undersized Gwilt.

North beat themselves more than any other in the competition, whether it be by giving up large leads, or not getting their mix right (have played the one extra tall too many times this year as well). Don't get sucked into a shoot out, and we'll win it.

To be fair Wallsy was also an expert at this when Ratt's was coach as well.

If he ever starts writing for the Australian Financial Review take your money out of the bank and stick it under the bed.

Certainly need a focused team to pull that off. Sounds achievable.

Yep, need a spare man dropping back in front of Petrie.

Will Tarrant even play?? Thought he went off with a knee against Bris.

Was this the game last year when Firritto wiped the ball on Duigan's back before lining up for goal?

If Waite is fit, what tall do we drop?

It won't be Hendo or Jamison.

Rowe kicked three, Watsons copped a bit if a whack on here but he spent most of his night on Hickey who I thought did SWA for the Saints.

McInnes was good even though a few we're kicked on him, continuity is something we'd all agree is good his development right now.

Semi-interesting dilemma.
It'll probably be Watson and Hendo will go back out of necessity, but I would really like to see how he goes up forward against the quality defenders of the Roos.

..Hendo can take care of the roo's thommo, he's outmarked better kpps down back.. ..he's over the injury niggles that hindered him last year and the year before.. ..plus, thommo much prefers those stay at home stationary wrestle type fwds, he won't like the work he'll need to do to mind Hendo, who will roam and multiple lead.. ....it's far more about our ball-use, and how we run and spread and deliver the ball inside 50.. ..hendo will organise our fwd-line, far better than anyone else we have.... ..yes he will save goals down back, but we're no chance of kicking a winning score with rowe and bolt our kpfs.. ..our smalls have been off the boil, and our mids arent kicking enough either..

..if we play with a shambles of a fwd line as we so often do we wont win.. ..hendo is cruicial for this..

I still say either Hendo or Walks..or swap them during the game.
Both excellent forward and back.

Kangaroos have +64 on the free kick count. We are -32. I expect this to make the difference in a close game. Just have a feeling!

Waite hasn't played CHB in 2+ years, so I can't see him coming in and playing in defence this week. That means Hendo back to defence. I think we'll see Hendo continued to be moved from end to end on a 'needs must' basis for the rest of this season. He's needed at CHB this week against Norf.

It'll be interesting to see what we do in the midfield. Do we continue to play Carrazzo, Cachia & Curnow in the same side? Or do we go head-to-head with Norf's midfield? I wouldn't be upset if one of those 3 make way for Graham (or Lucas stays in), and on form the one from that trio you'd drop is Carrazzo, but I tend to think we'll go the conservative route....

Assuming Murph, Robbo & Waite are OK-

Tuohy Jamo McInnes
Walker Hendo Simmo
Curnow Judd Cachia
Armfield Waite Murphy
Betts Rowe Yarran

Kreuzer Gibbs Carrazzo

Inter: Brock, Garlett, Scotland
Sub: Robbo

In - Robbo, Waite
Out - Lucas, Watson

Malthouse said yesterday something to the effect that because the VFL side had a Bye last week there should be some fresh blokes from the reserves to bring in. We know he can't be referring to Bell, Ellard, Hammer or Laidler - so who does that leave? Bootsma, Buckley, Casboult, Graham, Menzel, Warnock and White are probably the only ones in contention.

Ive got this crazy idea, seeing is we are crying out for 2 tall forwards, why don't we play both Hendo and Waite up forward, and keep Watson in (heaven forbid, Im no fan but we may as well see if he can improve and from Mick's letter to the members he will play).
