If we play like we have the last few weeks we will get smashed.

I am thinking that is what will happen and north to win by about 7-8 goals.

I think we will end up finishing about 12th.

This game must be coached to perfection. Although we won last week, that side will struggle against the Kanga's.

I'd actually bring in Hampson for this one, possibly for Carrots or one of Cachia/Curnow....

How could you conceive dropping Cachia after Saturday? A bit screwy, no?

Fortunately Nth have 4 Friday games this year, so they won't be whipped into their usual "Let's reclaim what's rightfully ours" frenzy of previous years.

They have a dominant ruck, big bodied mids, multiple key forwards, 'small' defenders that are too big for our guys, but agile enough to compete with them at ground level, and one of the best intercept marks in the comp in Scott Thompson who will have a picnic if we blast it in long.....

...yet they've won less games than us!

Though he is not listed as such Carrots looks to be still carrying an injury. If he is not 100% I would seriously consider omitting him for Graham.

Despite his 3 goals I would also replace Jeffy with Menzel.

Have to leave Hendo forward even though the backline is clearly diminished I think what he brings to the forward line more than compensates.

What about despite being in ALL Aus form for the first half of the year and leading our goal kicking by a fair way ?

Up to Round 10 Jeff was at the top of his game but his last month has been crap - I didn't mind the goals drying up but he was not applying any of the forward pressure he was at the start of the year.

..Goldy is about avg, their big mids have no defensive side to their games.. ..they have a few big fwds, but haven't been able to get much chemistry going this year and none of them are in good form this year.. ..we should be able to handle them, but we're only a fraction more reliable than they are so it's anybodies guess..

Just a horses for courses idea. One of Curnow, Cachia needs to be out for this game or be released to be a playmaker. Both just play percentage footy, Cachia played it very well against the saints.

I feel we need an all out attack side with a bit of extra height in defense, and I believe Hampson could legitimately be that player for us. He has the attributes to make one of their tall forwards less of a target than they have been in the past.

Just for the record:

Hampson has a knee................................................Won't play for 6-8 weeks.
Laidler has had the screw removed from his knee..........Looks like 4-6 weeks.
Ellard is also out for another 4 weeks.
McCarthy, O'Keeffe, Collins are also all injured for protracted periods of time.

Waite, Bootsma, Robinson and possibly Bell are the only injured that have any chance of being ready to go.

Will be interesting to see who the injured outs will be for North.
Why exactly would anyone be fearful of Daw anyway? Because he had one good game in the VFL?

Bell is out for at least 2 more.
Who knows with Waite!

Bell's been out for three weeks already.
Betts was also out for 3 weeks this year and Simpson for 4 weeks last year with the same injury.
I doubt he'd be risked as he's not an essential at this stage.

Waite? Bone bruising is painful rather than debilitating.
Nothing a jab every half an hour may not take care of. It is Waite though so...................1 - 2 weeks?

Murphy hasn't been himself since he was smashed by the freight train called Hodge.
Did we bring him back from the panel beaters too early?

North Melbourne and its supporters have a real chip on their shoulder about our club. Can't remember such feral behaviour ever from their lot than last year's match against them.

FLOUR.

Hendo needs to start back. Last year's game shows that we can't match these cauliflower in a shoot out. They own the corridor well, and have too many decent forward options to not kick a winning score.

No change for mine.

Mick has alluded to changes with 'fresh' player(s) to come in.

I'm tipping Menzel or Graham in for Betts, Armfield, Yarran or Curnow.

In regards to Hendo we can leave him forward. Watson on Petrie for mine, Jamo on Tarrant and McInnes on Black. Watson/Jamo might swap.

Betts showed some spark when he came on (but has been off the boil) & Curnow owned Montagna so will likely get another job this week.

I'd like to see:
McInnes - Jamison - Simpson
Walker - Watson - Scotland
Tuohy - Carrazzo - Yarran
Garlett - Henderson - Gibbs
Betts - Waite - Rowe

Kreuzer - Judd - Murphy

Raffle the sub between Graham, Menzel or Army with Cachia, Lucas, McLean on the bench.

Well that would settle that then.

Now, where's my box.

So with no change and Hendo down back, how do you see us lining up in the forward half?

Can't see us with any real potency to be honest.
