Post-match song was a worryingly half-arsed affair. Maybe they forgot the words - understandable.

Relieved to win, We were very poor for three quarters - on top, but giving away so many gilt-edged chances. Thankfully St Kilda are a truly woeful rabble of unskilled midgets, but a half-decent side would have beaten us. But we just needed a win, scrappy or otherwise. Hopefully we can rediscover something from tonight, because for all our moaning, our team is better than this.

Conclusion: Milne is a c***

Actually thought Watson worked his way into the game.....not brilliant, but important if Hendo is to play fwd.

Suck shit therapist

+1. He has LOTS to work on but......he never missed a target and is a very composed kick, unlike a lot of our guys. Work on he defensive skills, and do some intensive sprint work with him and he can make it - seriously.

And I thought Sugar was one of our best tonight. I counted four goal assists to Sugar. Another with some shortcomings, but plenty to work with.

Ducks for cover..........

Maybe your 2nd paragraph explains your opening comment? Why celebrate an ordinary win like it was a gf?

middle of the road effort tonight

still rely too much on Judd

good to see Henderson play forward for the entire game (now leave him there)

too many one paced midfielders, unfortunately won't change in the short term as we need to turn over list

our endeavour for most of this year has been good, can't fault effort

just not enough quality at the bottom end of our 22

Murphy needs to lift if we are going to beat North next week

Not sure what to think but it's a win.

Positives:

Hendo fwd w Rowe
Cachias best game
Judd
Simpson
Yarran worked harder, not enough but harder

Fair point, but the sing-along is as more about camaraderie and team spirit and the importance of victory than the quality of the performance. Not giving a toss about the song suggests they're resigned to the season being over or are just unhappy. I hope they were just tired and relieved.

Considering how heart breaking our last month has been I thought it was a terrific effort.

Still need to find another key forward...a combination of a smart lead up type like Henderson and a 198cm+ like Petrie/JK who you can bomb to when you have no other option.

Henderson has the smarts on the lead but not the size in a wrestle with the best defenders.

Ditto Kane Lucas.

A got my wish with Hendo forward.
I'm a believer in playing Waite and Kruezer in the forward line together with 3 Amigos/ Armfield defensive forward.
Kick a bigger score and you win.

We do win our fair share in the middle but havent had much to kick to.

Really rapt for Rowe. His first half was first rate. I still have doubts about Rowe against the good teams.

Great to get a win....solid effort ...workman like....grinded out a 6 goal win.

I'd take that anyday of the week.

Lets see what this team can make of their season...8 games to go.

The issue is how much are their flaws going to hurt the team into the future Vs what they offer

It's more about if they can improve & overcome those flaws.

..a scrappy win, but the sort we needed..

..i think Watto is never going to be a last line defender, i have no idea what his running capacity is like but he needs to really get the miles in his legs, but i thought he worked his way into the game as he got used to the tempo.. ..much like last season, i think he improves the more senior games he plays.. ..won't 'come on' in the ressies.. ..does get a fair amount of the ball [16 possies], and did his fair share of the 1%s as well..

..i think krooz is an interesting case, i can understand how ppl watch him and want/expect more.. ..and then you look at how we went and he's clearly had the better of this opponent, and was actually an influential player.. ..i think he's motoring up, i think that when we play a little more freely he can be used more.. ..[he also seems to get robbed of a mark or two every game, sheesh]..

..very pleased with Hendo's game.. ..is a big part of our KPF future, will need another alongside.. ..i think Hendo and Waite are mobile and work enough that we can still play a rowe/bolt type as the backup ruck.. ..i think rowe is the better fwd, but bolt the better ruck type..

..i think we're carrying a few which aren't quite right/fit enough..

In Lucas' case, can a flawed kicking action be repaired, especially kicking under pressure.

In Watson's case, is his agility going to improve? He is best suited to playing as a loose man where he reads the play quite well, but get him on the lead and he struggles.
