Bit touchy round here of late. Can't comment on the no pain/having fun incongruity anymore? How about haircuts? Is Ciccone the new 'C' word? I'm certainly not ringing the Club demanding to know why they're out enjoying themselves after a heavy loss, but it's no different to any other comment along the lines of 'they don't care, they get paid either way.'

At any rate, I've added more than you in this thread.

P.S. The PM's also allowed to go out and have fun.

Not spying when it's publicly posted Synners.

Are you really drawing the line on what's childish? Jeez

Yep, can't let the result of a silly game of footy spoil a good night out!

More interested in where Murph's hands are headed in that pic.

If only he was that bold getting into confined spaces on the field...

Malthouse walked into a club that had been blighted by poor everything - poor management, poor leadership, poor coaching, poor recruiting and poor player development. That's all been discussed ad nauseum. I suspect he wanted to make changes to the list last year, but his hands were tired by appaling list management that saw all our fringe dwellers still contracted, and not much room in the cap. So he did the only thing he could do, which is be positive, pump up the list. Perhaps he wasn't aware quite the dire situation the list was in, but he certainly is now.

This view you have from the outside, do you have anything to back any of it up at all?
Because the comments from all involved paint the exact opposite. :?

Nope, that's why I said it was a view from the outside. Just my observations and deductions from the outside. Not putting any of that forward as fact, merely opinion.

Mick, thanks for the apology, but it is not worth shit on a stick if it isn't carried through by the players and by the MC having the balls to drop lazy self indulgent players regardless of who they are.
It is way past time that some of these "Y" generation softcocks were told to drink a cup of concrete and harden the @#$%&! up, they also need to be reminded that a senior game is earned not just given, this is where you and the MC come in, dump some of the prima donnas and play a few of the guys in the seconds, who knows what will happen when they are given a chance and it couldn't be any worse than the spiritless crap that was dished up on Friday night, you need to find a way to get inside these guys heads so they can develop the self belief required to play consistent football, there is ability in this side but that is not enough, these guys are mentally brittle, this needs to be fixed ASAP or the so called honourable losses will continue to occur and will start turning into the shit that was displayed on Friday night.

There is not one side in the competition that would feel beaten at any stage by Carlton, all the opposition coaches have to say is keep at them they are mentally soft and will fold and it is true.

There is your problem, fix that and the rest of the process will take care of itself.

Time for everyone to take responsibility and Man the @#$%&! up.

Good post Ziggy, pretty much the way I see it, too. The fact that his hands were tied pre season re trading and list enhancement is so overlooked around here. I trust MM to leave the place in a lot better way than when he walked in, there's no short term fix here.

Really. So when we offered Cloke a bucket load of money, where was that coming from? :?
I'd suggest we put all our eggs in one basket and it didnt come off.
The fact Mick was off flogging his book instead of assessing the list doesn't equate to having your hands tied. It equates to prioritising your book sales.

The reality is we offered Travis Cloke a shitload of money. Thats been verified by all parties involved.
Sorry but that doesn't equate to salary cap constraints. A poor excuse IMO.

Cloke was a free agent BV, not giving up players or draft picks dealt us in the game, as for the salary cap management of it all, who knows what the club had in mind.

BV, you hate the guy with a passion, you just can't separate emotion from logic when you discuss this guy, so I seriously discount any opinion you have of him for that reason. All too personal for my liking. I still enjoy your "on-field" opinions, though.
