Independent review is the obvious place to start.

It has to be truly independent though or you're going to end up with the ticks and everything is great result you mentioned.

who can do a truly independent review ?

how can it be truly independent when the board has its tentacles (influence) right through the business community ?

An independent review is required but you wont logistically get one.

I interested to know how many people are happy with where the club is at and ts status.. and how many people are alarmed enough to believe a FULL INDEPENDANT REVIEW is needed...

Dont worry about that for a second..
Yes or no???

Are we happy with the status quo the club finds finds itself in??

Id like to bellieve as Carlton people we can push the club into having one.

For the club to refuse this.. it means they do not want our membership!!!..

The alternative is to continue on the way were going...
If youre happy its fine... if you want to get to the causes of this... were going to need to upset the applecart!!!

So what is it??

Im not a member... and i wont buy my membership if we dont have one...

Am i a traitor???

We just need enough people to put the screws on these guys!!!... demand to know where were at!!!

Don't agree with the independent review angle. Not the right situation and takes too long.

Board needs to appoint the BEST CEO. Personally I would be throwing everything I had at Brian Cook.

Remember Pratt's comment about getting the BEST! We need winners.

Club needs a complete change of culture and it needs to come from someone who has had success at this.
There are deep seated Cultural issues that need a strong leader to sort out as well as having a clear vision.

Club needs to be clear in it's two key divisions:

Football & Administration.
GM of Football required (not McKay) and a COO.

Both answer directly to Cook.

Reserves need to be purely Carlton and train and play at Carlton.

Recruit & Development need the best.

Wells in Recruitment although we do have Williams who is new.
Development could easily be Wiley or Williams

Fitness is an issue. Cordy has been there long enough and hasnt been that impressive.
I would chase Burgess from PA with everything I have.

List Manager required.

List needs reviewing now. Major cuts to be made and trades for players under 22. Focus on free trade & draft. Players for picks.
Leadership qualities need to be rated higher.

INDEPENDENT Leading Psychological reviews need to be conducted on all possible draftees.

MM to appoint new coaching panel. Asst coaches from successful clubs such as Ling, Harley etc needed. Need to be Full Time.

Home games at MCG. Further development of Visy Park precinct.

Membership of 75 000 required within 3 years.

The composition of the board needs to be broken. They have an Elliott like smother of this club.

Fahour needs to challenge and win.

Those bagging Malthouse are clueless.

Mick knows exactly what it takes to win a premiership. The kind of players you need to win a premiership. The right culture you need....... THEY ARE NOT THAT EASY TO WIN

He has come from one of the best resourced clubs in history, what ever he wanted he got and thats why he had COllingwood play in 4 grand finals, 8 preliminary 6 in a row.

Those who thought Mick was going to walk in and steer the current group to a flag this year are delirious.

Season 2013 for Mick is working out if he has those ingredients to take this club to a flag...... He worked out pretty early in the piece he doesn't. We lack smart footballers, leaders, skilful players and a bit of mongrel. THATS NOT MICKS FAULT

Mick is a smart man. He will rebuild this list. Rebuild the culture. He will demand success and demand the resources that a club like ours should have. And I HAVE NO DOUBT THE CLUB WILL BE BETTER FOR IT

I for one am most happy to have Mick at our club no matter his age. He knows his stuff. He knows what it takes and HE WILL REBUILD THIS CLUB

YOU GOT TO HAVE FAITH IN MICK..... he will do it

Agree 100 %
Ratten had FIVE AND A HALF YEARS and what did he leave us with ?
I know people will say 'here we go, blaming Ratten again', but like it or not, its true.
Every action has a reaction. Last night was a culmination of years of poor recruiting, poor coaching and poor list management.
For people to day 'But Ratts had us playing well in 2011', speak to Cam Mooney, Paul Roos and Mick Malthouse to see how the opposition viewed our team back then.
Cant believe people going Mick after this. Did they expect him to turn poo into gold bullion ?
Not his fault the list is full of mentally fragile, undisciplined s0ft**k plodders...

Forget about Malthouse for the moment...

Do we need an independent review of all things Carlton or not???

This is a thread about turning the club around...

Im not interested in whether people think any review is humanly possible to make independent or not.Thats ust theorizing.

Im asking if its possible... does the club need to partake in one.. open itself up and have itself fully examined from top to bottom???

you're just theorizing and ignoring practicalities

what we all KNOW is that we need is new leadership

we need to crack the stranglehold of power

we need Fahour to challenge Kernahan to a loser leaves town match
