We need a minimum of 4 seasons if we do everything right to be up there again.

I can delist 15... and in 3 years we would lose aother 6 od crucial players to retirement..

thats half the list...

ridiculous from where we were .. to have a window open only enough for one eliminational finals win

we had a bunch of early picks ... stevo.. fev and chris judd..!!!

just goes to show .. if you have no clue youll get overun... and we have been swamped!!

yes things can turn very fast... but being serious contenders wont turn very fast

I'm surprised there has not been a person passionate and connected enough to challenge Sticks. Is the Pratt control that strong?? What exactly is that family giving us in real terms?

sticks pratts x 2 mathiesons..means theyre in an impregnable fortress for a challenge.

We have so many holes Synbad. Who is going to replace Jamo? Replace Waite? Backup ruckman?? Let alone the KPP that we dont have in CHF and FF. and agree with you.......we need 10 midfielders very soon. Who is our project NSW player?

Shits me that Jeanie "Philanthropy is fun" Pratt can buy memberships to fudge up our membership figures but wouldnt pour more money into the footy dept Barker/Capuano and some cheap coaches and turf out the recruiters .. relace them with the recruiters we need....where there would be a real difference made.
oh well.. she can do what she likes with the money left behind i suppose.....

Totally agree Synbad.

I think it was the right move to get a Malthouse to the club. He is the smartest football person we've had at the club for 10 years or so. There lies the problem, we didn't get the rebuild right many years ago because we lacked an overall vision and a plan. Instead we tried buying our way out of it.

My understanding is Mick is demanding some changes be made in terms of the football department and structure. He was frustrated when he got to the club that he could assemble his own
Support team be Aust of contracts and payouts involved.

The recruitment department has been buffed up.

He was spoken to Jude Bolton, Cameron Ling and Simin Black I regards to a coaching position at the club and that Simon Black is a big chance.

Sounds promising.

If there has been a premiership window around in the last few years , it is now a heap of shattered glass .

Definitely time for a clean out . Mick's done it all before and I reckon he's the best man to have in charge .

Ratten , Hughes etc. knew buggar all about building a list .
Hope MM , RW and the new bloke from Geelong can get things right .

The whole thing is much much worse than I first thought.

There is no tweak for a flag. The group which roughly begun 07-08 is cooked and will be dismantled.

We created a side originally based on Fev and Judd, the side peaked in 2011. If we still had Fev in 2011 who knows how far we could have gone?

Anyway the era (with the legacy of 1 finals win) is over they have failed, and there will be aggressive trading.

We should do whatever we can to get the number 1 pick. Daisy also would be excellent as we need all the class we can get (im guessing he will stay anyway).

Time to tank boys

Shut up shop for the year and get a nice low pick

I think its time for a total clear out from top to bottom.

If Sticks is a man who truly loves this club, then he needs to sit back, look at his results, and acknowledge that they aren't good enough. We seem to be listless.

If this was a company, the CEO would be toast as would most of the senior management. The shareholders would be demanding change as the price continues to head south.

I'm more than happy with what Mick is doing. He can only do what he can with the cattle provided. I don't think we have gone backwards. More that we simply haven't moved forward as other teams have.

My biggest despair is that this playing group doesn't seem to have a positive 'brand'. Sure we are 'flashy', "skilful' but also 'fragile', 'soft', 'downhill skiers'.

We don't grind teams. We aren't a 'never say die'. Get 18pts up against us and sides can coast. We don't appear 'tough'.

I dare say 'soft' but we aren't far from it physically and mentally. The lack of a physical chop out for Judd and Murphy is appalling. Watch the top sides. Anyone tagging a Selwood, a Mitchell, a Kennedy, will get bumped and smashed by every Cat, Hawk, Swan. We instead leave it all to Judd and Murphy.

If we as a club are truly honest with ourselves, then a total review is required.

Trade either Eddie, Garlett, Yas, Walker, gibbs, Warnock or Kreuzer for picks, Whichever has the most value. get rid of the dead wood and lesser types by a trade or delisting and start to use the bloody draft!!!! And target the 'types' of players that we need.

But the list is a symptom of our problems, not the sole cause. Fix the endemic issues first.
