At a guess;
Lucas, Bootsma, Scotland, Curnow, Casboult, White.
I will say Scotland is the half due to his age.

If I'm forced to, I'll go with:
White although he has showed a bit from time to time.
Garlett although I love him when he's 'on'.
Robbo although I think he imbues the type of spirit we need in our players. I think he's peaked a couple of seasons ago.
Curnow, although he has elite endurance and is shutting down some pretty good players
Bootsma, who worries me because he shows a bit and was one of a few who could actually mark the footy over his head against Sydney.

And Kreuzer because he's only half the player we hoped he'd be.

Casboult's a keeper.

It may well be a couple of our older players.

Guy on ABC radio today, I think it was Parkin, said that he heard Mick speak to a coterie group this week.

Mick said that 25% of the team picked to play the Swans were not good enough to be in the next Carlton
premiership team. This is 25% of our best 22 and watching the 2's today ...

Me thinks that there might be some serious list changes at Carlton end the end of the season.

(Is this worth a whole thread ... I dunno. Couldn't think where else to put it. Feel free to comment or ignore).

I think this should be a thread on its own...but it could become a witch hunt given the multitude of differing opinions on this board.

I would start by looking at the players with deficiencies filling holes; they lack skill, stamina, awareness, speed....discipline, team ethic.....

Secondly, I would be looking at the window MM is referring to...and I believe the premiership he believes he can deliver is during his tenure in 2014 and 2015.

Due to their age, wear and tear, Scotland might not be around in 2014, maybe Judd will be gone in 2015, as I believe McLean and Simpson might too.

If we look at player deficiencies then the ones with the most deficiencies from the Swans game would be...

Lucas, Casboult, White, Curnow, Cachia....all lack something....loving what Curnow and Cachia are giving this team though....for now.

Replace Levi with Armfield and you'd be pretty spot on, maybe Cachia also. I can't see why some are so negative re Levi, he's a contested marking beast 12 games into his career. His kicking for goal should improve as he gets more games and confidence.

Casboult's a keeper.

Hope he doesn't go the same way as Bosnich

Anyone who has Josh Bootsma in that list doesn't get it. It being football...or much at all - take your pick.

Hmm, how's this trusting going?

Has he inherited garbage? Or have we just blown a whole lot of money for no good reason?

Not that I thought Ratts was awesome, but at this point the appointment of Mick appears a symbolic act to appease the masses which is having no discernible benefit.

Not saying we change tack now, but we really need to get rid of the imbeciles behind the scenes who know nothing about football who make decisions.

To get us back to the best we need top people running the show off field, don't expect overnight miracles (I mean they believed Mick could deliver a premiership) and work hard to make every aspect of the club great rather than believe we will just have success because we are Carlton.

I'm willing to stick with Mick if he is determined to see this through and both he and the club see this as something which will take time rather than just worrying about the next 2 years.

Too tired to fully post all my thoughts on the trusted one, but we haven't been this bad since pagan coached us. So many issues to deal with, awful times

I posted in another thread, all signs post to a full rebuild. Or at the very least, major, major renovations.

If MM is not intending to stay for a significant period to see it through, what next?

We need massive changes on and off field including the board. By most measures we are just average at the moment.

Time to overhaul, top to bottom.

Some good points AC.

I did say at the time last year that the decision to remove Ratten was as much about memberships as it was Admin thinking he couldn't coach.

The fact is if you go through a proper process to appoint a coach you then sell the new coach to the members.

As an admin you need to bring the masses along with you; unfortunately they've gone the old Carlton way of getting the chequebook out.

We may be in a similar position with an untried coach but we will never @#$%&! know. Could have saved a lot of money too, some of which could have been pumped into recruiting/development.

The club too often just throws all its eggs in one basket!

Awful coach, awful team selection, one less member next year (after 26 consecutive years)
