Geez I'd hate it if we sold the farm for Boyd and he turned out to be another Watts, Hansen, Gumbleton, Thorpe, Fraser, Kosczitske, Kreuzer etc. Or even someone like Patton who can't get on the park.
Just saying there is a fair bit of risk involved.

Patton was doing fine until his knee buckled...that can happen to anyone, Boyd included

After missing a big chunk of the start of last year because something else was busted as well.

Do you remember our game against GWS up there in the NAB Cup ?
Patton OWNED our defence.

I reckon the GWS are just shaking the trees to see what can be extracted from the pick, devalued by clubs (one mans trash...) or precarious (relationship issues)....so they can strike for what they really nee in a different way.

As if they don't want Patton, Cameron, Buddy and Boyd in their team.
They can trade the weakest one the following year.

We aren't going to sell the farm.
We'd probably offer Warnock, our No. 1 pick and Laidler/ Duigan...or both.
They are after experienced mature bodies to bolster their chances of a win and avoid these embarassing thrashings.

Buddy might ask them to give Hawks the No 1 pick in order for him to go there...that's my guess....if they are willing to let go the No 1 pick.

He was mammoth.

I can see the importance of a power forward.
Missed Fevola's presence and ability not his IQ.

It is always good to have some one to kick to who is likely to mark and kick the goal.

..the problem i have with the "ok to trade gibbs, we get daisy and it's offset".. .... ..different players, but more importantly we want to add to our quality, not just offset for an older more expensive outside runner.. .... ..gibbs can play midfield and flanks, daisy more a flanker, less so a mid.. ..where we really need to add in quality.. ..get daisy if not too expensive, but he should be added to what our core quality mids are.. ..not come in to balance what we ship off, otherwise its a dumb use of FA..

Exactly, you can’t expect to just change over one player that’s in your best five with one that might take over his spot in the best.
Gibbs has increased his output this year and his intensity has also lifted dramatically.
He is becoming a lot more valuable and penetrating as his comfort grows in his new position and he hurts teams with his versatility, so why would you contemplate trading him for someone with less ability and a question mark on his longevity.

So Buddy is going to get 12 million dollars from GWS and then he is going to say, oh by the way can you give Hawthorn the number 1 pick so I feel better.

Are you for real?

No way I would trade Gibbs. We lack real class and he has it. I also believe that he is really starting to show his worth.

Right again " Psych "....................despite his shortcomings,Gibbs has class, and we have few players with class.

If you don't ask you don't get.

I'm sure Buddy will feel a bit of loyalty and lots of love for the Hawks right up till he gets to Sydney and into the GWS outfit for the first time. In other words till the deal is done.

What the deal is anyones guess. I was guessing.

He's won a flag with them.
They've been good to him.
He has his best mates there.
He knows GWS are on the up with plenty of talent
When Buddy and Roughy are gone, along with Hodge, Sewell...a few others Hawks even with Boyd aren't going to be as strong as they are now.

Juddy came to Carlton.
We lost Kennedy.
Judd did the right thing by his club...WCE. ..till the deal was done.

We didn't have to lose Kennedy....Judd could've said it Carlton or GAGF just as Luke Ball did with on route to Collingwood.

Everyone knows that...didn't you?

The lack of class on our list is why I ebb and flow with Yarran. Has as much raw talent as anyone on our list.

Can MM and Wiley get the best out of him? If they can he could be hugely influential.

Ben Cunnington? Not seen a lot of him but does not appear to have established him self at Roos. Is the right age and experience.
