Is that why Lynch might be rested? or is it because he's been shithouse since the Carlton game.

The weather will determine who is selected. So there must be uncertainty about the weather hence only an 8 page thread???

Really think we can stretch them on a dry track on the ground and in the air despite Buckley hoping the players to "spike" in form for this game.

Reid's hammies wont enjoy a heavy track, then again his height and marking prowess will be useless if he plays. So, will it rain?
Not knowing doesn't give me any grounds to have an opinion on whether Reid plays or not.

Bell....and his big body will be handy.

Murphy might come in.

Carrazzo?

GOTTA WIN.....rain, hail or shine....rain in Melb couldn't as heavy as it was in Sydney on Friday.
Sydney storms are like Tropical cyclones.

GOTTA win.

It will be a fairly wet track, if not raining during the game (according to the forecast)

But fair point, won't be anywhere as bad as last week.

In: Carrazzo, McInness, Bell
Out: Betts, Bootsma, ? (Maybe Curnow/or Cachia)

Onya Bluey...wet track at the G is OK...reminds me of '79 against the Pies...if only.

I doubt running players with stamina like Curnow will be dropped, and Cachia seems to have cemented his spot and done more than Bettsy lately.

Love to see McInnes come in for Bootsma for a start....or if MM sees a lot more than I do in Bootsma at this stage, White.

Really would like to hear Carrazzo is fit and firing because his leadership is something we can do with. I don't expect to see him in though...but then again maybe the MC said just 1 game for him in the NBs

Wouldn't drop Bootsma, was the only player last week (apart from Hendo) who looked like taking a mark in those conditions.

Would keep him and use him across half forward as the third tall option.

Boots did his hamstring, out two weeks.

Three weeks for a broken jaw?
Our players miss three weeks just for a bad hair cut.

This.
I haven't seen a lot of Northern games lately, but most posters seem confident that McInnes is ready to step back up to the big time.
So he seems the logical choice

Yep I am generally a fan of Curnow and Cachia. They always put in massive efforts.
But there's been a theory going round lately that our midfield might be erring too far on the side of lock-down / tagging.
I think there might be a bit of sense in that.
The Pies midfield is still pretty decent, and we need to match them.

So if Carrazzo comes in (generally a lockdown player),
is a midfield with Carrots/Curnow/Cachia and no Murphy going to have enough attacking flair to beat the pies?

If that's the team then Judd, Gibbs and Eddie need to really muck in and make the most of their time in the middle.

So it's possibly:

In: Carrazzo Graham McInnes Murphy?

Out: Bootsma (inj) maybe White? Curnow? Garlett? Scotland?

If Carrots, Graham & Murphy play I believe that will make a massive difference to our ball winning ability which has struggled.

Still cant see us dropping Jeff. Post Essendon* game he was AA small forward, only been 2 games since.

IMO it's been a bigger issue than our forward line.

Our defence is very good and our forward line has options but we really do lack depth in ball winning ability and ball use inside 50.

IMO one tagger may be okay but I would back the others in. Let Curnow follow Pendles and then back the rest in to WIN the ball and the game.

I would back Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Robinson, McLean, Armfield, Yarran, Betts, Carrazzo, Graham, Lucas, Cachia, Scotland playing as a group against most oppositions.

If Murphy plays, I reckon he'd play mostly forward (don't think they'll bring him in though)
If Murphy doesn't play, MM may throw Carrots forward, given the Cachia, Curnow, Armfield scenario. Either in a attacking role or defensive forward on Heath...

Have checked weather forecast - says chance of showers. Given that, I reckon it won't be that slippery. Light rain doesn't generally create too many problems at the G. Last week in Sydney was ridiculous. Don't think it will be like that.

I got Section M row L on the 50 metre line last night, 7 tickets. Some may not think that's decent but it's better than Q, especially for the kids :)

I cant for the life of me work out how they sell these tickets. A bit of luck it seems, the earlier you buy the tickets the worse they are.
Take some poncho's.

lovely!
even if we lose, we'll still look smart.
