I doubt this stuff will bring any good to the Blues.
Some of us felt sick watching him unravel others liked it saying he was standing up for the club. I reckon we all have to agree to disagree on that one.
The lies with the Milne situation was funny at the time. Caught red handed. Lets hope he learnt from it.

He will make out team better in the long run no doubt. It will be different for everyone how much of the other stuff along the way they can take.

Mick isn't surrounded by the Eddie/Collingwood media love fest bubble anymore, with Eddie ringing his hands together with his "Mick is Mick, at the end of the day we're all mates" defence.

Unfortunately Carlton does not have that luxury and Mick is going to learn that pretty quickly.

Here is some advice to angry little BV

You seem to accept that Mick is maybe not a bad coach for us, albeit his time at CFC is not proven

So why don't you park your issues with him as a person and just focus on the football?

You might find your time here to be more pleasant (and in turn more pleasant for others) if you can do that

It's about the football after all - I think we all concur with that, right ??

It was funny on so many different levels. But our current coach was caught red handed telling fibs. Not sure how he thought he was going to get away with that one. Hopefully he thinks a bit more clearly these days...... although if last Friday nights dummy spit was anything to go by there has to be doubts.

Not only did he deny it, he was emphatic in his denial. Along the line of "lets get this straight right now, I didnt speak to him at all"
Even when it was blatantly obvious, he still tried to lie his way out of it.

I find incidents like the above unpalatable and they suggest a serious character flaw.
I find it hard to respect people who dont take responsibility for their actions.
If that makes me a negative poster, so be it.

I can understand your stance BV but really if you look at his time at Collingwood (West Coast as well) and the way the players played for him before and after this incident he is a master of galvanising the playing group. He does this over long periods of time during his coaching tenure. You see it as a character flaw but perhaps you need to just put it aside, players play for him and I see nothing to suggest that it won't happen at Carlton.
This what we all want.

Sums it up for me too Woof. I place great store on, (sadly), old fashioned qualities such as honour and integrity.

But !

Firstly we're paying this guy to coach and although I think he needs at least two seasons before judgement, I'm already happy with the signs I'm seeing.

As far as the lying is concerned, the vehemence of his, (false), denial wasn't great. Unless though you've been under that sort of sustained scrutiny,
(and I certainly haven't), I think it would hard to understand. Anyone put under enough pressure will start saying silly things just to try and relieve that
pressure.

Bloody hell, the dummy spits are good old fashion passion. Nothing more, nothing less. I like it and could care less what the media thinks about it. He appears to quickly have developed an 'us versus them' attitude which means he has embraced this group of players as his own.

I'm tired of the same old crap slowly oozing out of he mouths of these current coaches at pressers. They are robots with little passion and completely scripted....apart from Brad Scott.....flower me, does anyone know what he's on about most of the time?

Good on Mick for going for it. I hope there's lots more of it. It's all good fun.

Na ... MM believes in the big bomb to the forward line no matter what.

Your last two posts have really confirmed to us beyond reasonable doubt that you don't dislike MM.

Negative press being, Rohan Connolly writing two articles bagging Mick because he's butthurt from Friday night still?

I think it's starting to gel under Mick.

He's got us playing good defensive footy.

He's got the structures right.

And now he will try find the right players to fill the holes.

I'm pretty sure you can pencil a few more in going forward.

There's a lot of media people who don't like him OR his manner.
Robbo
Connolly
Eddie and anybody reliant on Eddie for their supper like Darcy(which is a few)
Huddo
KB
Finey

Then you can throw in the usual suspects like Lloyd, Watson etc who just don't like Carlton.
We've also got Wallsy who's still got the shits on because Ratts got the flick.

The challenge for our admin will be how they handle MM and the media. I doubt very much if MM will change the habits of a lifetime so the club is going to have to ensure he's protected.

What a load of shit.

Why don't you guys just stop sledging MM and second guessing as to who likes him and who doesn't and concentrate back on the footy. Theres half a season ahead of us.

If you dont think MM is a respected coach in the media you should just forget about footy because all you are is a sludgemeister.

We have enough flower opposition supporters having a go at our club, let alone umpires, so if you're a Carlton supporter then just start concentrating on that...ie Carlton playing footy or @#$%&! off.

There's a big exciting IF of us and that is IF we beat the Swans we have a great opportunity to win the next 9 in a row. That's a seriously big possibility. That's what we should be looking forward to not shitting ourselves about what opposition think of us....we are winning respect...bit by bit.

We were supposed to be slaughtered last week against Hawks and in fact we should've won. Everyone in the footy world saw us lose the opportunity because of shit umpiring and lost opportunities...only a couple...and we would've won....everyone knows that and that we're not that far...they are shitting about our resurgence.

We're a better team than last year. MM has done good things, now lets cross our fingers and hope for 9 in a row and hopefully 10 with an unlikely Swans win in Sydney: we're not that far off the pace. Then when we get our opportunity against Collingwood, Essendon* and Freo all in Melbourne we might win all those..and if theose teams lose 1-2 more than that which is likely (having to face Cats, Hawks and Swans, we may end up higher on the ladder.

For those writing us off....just remember we're at the half way with 10 games to go.

Come September and dry fast tracks are the norm we will still have the fastses team going around and our game plan and team would have been settled.

I believe something special is building and we have to win a flag whilst Juddy is still playing (and hopefully Scotto and Simmo). We will get some BIG recruits next year, but this year aint over.

In MM we have to trust. Now cross your fingers and start with some positive chants.....

Considering what BV's brought to this forum over the years regarding analysis of what's going on on and off the field perhaps you'd like to "park your issues with him as a person and just focus on the football.

Or maybe you'd like to discuss how "pure truth" and changing your user name from Blackwell to Virgin Blue to Sugarcane fit together.

As for being "angry"...

Dude - get a mirror! :donk:

Your nothing but a snipper still GWS. Good to see nothing's changed. You just sit back and take smart arse pot shots time and time again. Broken record mate.

Talk about history I haven't read a productive post from you for a loooong time because all you're good for is sitting back and making smart arse comments.

I feel sorry for you that you feel compelled to do this

I can't believe those bagging Mick Malthouse.

Ad those that do are just miserable and are obsessed with negativity and get off reading negative stories in the paper about the blues cause they haven't got much going on In their lives.
