I got no issues with a player being beaten one on one in a contest. Nor do I have an issue with skill errors usually
as both can be rectified over time with practice and maturity, a stronger body, better coaching etc etc.
I got issues with an AFL footballer who is afraid of body contact. Not all players are equal
in the courage stakes but Lucas is devoid of any courage period. If he were a great kick or a great mark
or a great runner I might be able to overlook his softness a little but he has very little to contra his lack of courage.
I doubt very much he will miraculously grow a heart in the coming weeks.

I think Yarran has landed himself in some strife and wouldn't be surprised if Mick puts him up for trade at the end of the year. I doubt anyone who tells the senior coach to f a r k off you old t n u c when instructed to do something he didn't want to do is pathetic. It made me furious that someone like him could be so disrespectful to a senior figure in charge of the club

Do you think GWS would swap their number one draft pick for Yarran and Warnock

And how do you know that is what Yarran supposedly said to the coach?

Everyone will be offering up everything for that number 1 pick.

As for how I know what Yazz said....... I just know

If he was picked with Mitchell's slot he would be cut. He would only be kept because we wasted a high pick on him, and of course the biggest mistake of all would be to try and hide the mistake by pushing it out another 12 months.

I'd be happy to move him onto the rookie list, happens reasonably regularly these days

or Vietnam

maybe WWII

or the Great War

or faced Thommo

I'd be looking to trade for pick 1 in this years' draft - with a view of getting Boyd for the future.
We'd have to offer up quality for it - one of Yarran, Kreuzer + one of Warnock, Hammer, Armfield, Bell.
This would mean we have 2 picks inside the top dozen, including No1.
Discuss.

Lloyd was talking the other night about clubs trading with GWS for the 1st pick so they can get Boyd.

He opined that the clubs who really need him have little that GWS would want.

For example, Bulldogs would kill for Boyd but what would they be able to swap. St Kilda?

Us? Wangers suggestion might be a starting point for negotiation but I doubt they would entertain 2 rucks (and I reckon they'd want our first pick even if it was Yarran and Warnock).

The club with the obvious talent to swap is probably Essendon*, They could offer Bellchambers, Pears and Gumbleton. Problem is, they are already stacked with KPP. And they may all be unable to play for 2 years (that's me talking not Lloyd).

..if Boyd is gonna be as good as everyone claims, they may not want to trade him out.. ..he could become their marquee player, especially with there may be being some concerns regarding patton's knees..

..very few players i'd consider swapping #1 pick for.. ..hell, we didn't even swap it for Judd.. ..maybe they would for Buddy, but they can just BUY him in..

....all this talk about crowd numbers etc etc, dont mean shite to the club cos it's backed by the afl.. ..they took a longterm approach to their list management from day one, why panic and trade out stars/early picks now just 2 yrs in.. ..also, they've already got scully, ward and co. on big coin.. ..you dont want too many stars on big coin, cos when your future stars get older its all that much harder talking them up towards paycut sacrifices to stay together for success..

Lucas isn't going anywhere. If MM was going to trade him, I don't reckon he's have played every game this year he's been available for. You've been reading too much of Synbad's poison.
I reckon Simmo would get us nothing as a trade. And he's a great servnt of the cluib and will play out his days here.
Warnock I agree with. Collinbgwood will be interested in him or HAmpson
Scotland will never be delisted. He'll go in his own time.
Curnow is currently one of our best run with players so I imagine he'll be around for a while.
The rest I pretty much agree with.

Last night on fox, the guys on the couch highlighted a passage of play during the 3rd quarter that
cost us a goal.IF you get a chance, please watch it again but be sure to have a bucket on hand as your very likely to get sick watching it. Its the goal at about 8.30 remaining on the clock (Walker looses a one on one in the square resulting in a goal).

If you look at the passage of play again, watch LUCAS. He drops the ball inside forward 50, which can happen to any player but
happened to Lucas because the heat was on and he had a quick look at what was approaching. But, more importantly, watch his effort when he falls to his knees trying to recover the ball unopposed and S**** himself thinking he is about to get front on contact. He ducks his head to an imaginary defender and doesn't get close to the ball. He got scared of the footsteps.
Than, his half heated effort to get up and chase is the icing on the cake. The ball rebounds and it results in a goal at the other end.

I said at the time it was a momentum killer.Lucas is a momentum killer. He was responsible for the same thing against the dons the week before. Most hanged him for the missed goal 5 meters in front against the dons, but a passage of play 3 minutes before that was the momentum killer.

I find it very hard to believe that a hard nosed coach like MM is going to put up with that type of horse shit for any longer than needs be.
I am certain MM didnt miss the incident in the 3rd term on Friday night.
I wouldn't be so sure with your assertion that that "Lucas isnt going anywhere".

I haven't watched the replay yet but I probably will.
I'll look out for that passage.
My guess is that MM has played him every week so far apart from when he was injured for a week or two. My assertion is based on that by and large.

Braddles and campo could use the ball. Lucas can't.
Soft outside players should be able to torch you with their disposal or they're of no use......

Lucas is very ordinary in every regard except running. But no point just running if you can't use it....

Wasted pick...

At the halfway point it's only a bit of speculation and guess work but...

Gone with papers already stamped

Joseph
Collins

Possibly or probably gone

Duigan
Watson
McCarthy
O'Keefe
Dale

May attempt to trade/might want to leave

Hampson
Warnock
Laidler

That's a potential 5-10 list changes, which is still a pretty substantial overhaul since we're not that crap.

Can't say I see him being on the list next year. Cheers Agro knew I forgot someone.

No surprises that I think he's in the "papers stamped" group.

We're probably holding him in case we need him for the finals - as with 3 finals under his belt Davies is probably one of our lists most seasoned finals campaigner.

Assuming GWS finish on the bottom of the ladder, still half a season to go so anything can happen.
