Why the hell would we want to delist Casboult. :screwy:
That is just insanity.

Delist him and he will be snapped up in the draft imo

Last two weeks have given a real insight of where our list sits.

We have some really good players but we fall away badly after about player 25. If we get our best on the field we are right in it but we need more to be a legitimate top 4 side.

I expect us to make some significant changes at years end.

Some smart trading and drafting will see us in the mix in 2014.

You all talk about smart trading but you name no-one. Who would you trade in as a result of this smart trading?

Laidler has tweeted that he had a great chatch up with Tom Petroro. Not sure what to read into that.

Trade bait are Warnock, Hampson, Laidler, Lucas and Yarran potentially.

Realistically the first 3 are the most likely to go, and I think we could secure picks in the 30s for the ruckmen and a pick in the 40s for Laidler.

As much as Lucas annoys me we should persist at least until the end of 2014.

Yarran we are unlikely to get a good enough deal.

Sports management.. but silly for Laidler to be talking about it.

After last nights game our reliance on Simpson, Scotland, Judd was obvious.

They are finished in a year or 2, along with Carrazzo and Brock (who will get slower not faster).

There's your class midfield gone with Murphy, Gibbs and Yarran the remaining class.

We're in trouble post 2014 if we don't trade heavily this year to ensure our competitiveness let alone try and win us a flag next year whilst the abovementioned are on the list.

Waite's is also closer to retirement but might sneak an extra year after his contract is completed

IMO we haven't got very far in our rebilding since Black Friday 10 years ago.

For the first time I'm really not liking WH and those who supported him.

On our list we will be losing players to old age very fast now.. and we need them to be replaced even faster if were to make up ground....
But we were told we must be patient.... the last 5 seasons are a killer by a bunch of blokes around the club that have no idea to look into the future and plan and manage....

Makes it important to draft instead of trading away our first round pick.

Good post and called it two years ago to a couple of posters on TC. Our planning for the future has been abysmal and Sticks was shocked and got defensive when this was asked to him on GF day 2 years ago at Raheen at the pre GF brekky/lunch.

Talia for Jamison would be a huge win.
Picks 4 for Gibbs is win
Pick 14-15 for Pick 20 probably evens it out.

..pick 4 for Gibbs is not a win, is not even close to a win.. ..i know Gibbs is almost half way thru his career, but he's very durable and out of our players the most likely to play 300+.. ..his versatility is immense, and showed last night that he can play in the middle against touch nasty opposition..

..and he still hasn't reach his full potential, which he will now under MM>.

I'm leaning towards trading both Hammer and Warnock.

Pick up a journeyman for nothing as backup to Kreuzer and use Casboult in support.

..the thing with hampson is, he seems [looking from the ouside] that he's not on huge coin, and doesn't seem too disgruntled with the amount of ressies games.. ..i believe he could play 1st ruck, and from his individual point i can understand him not wanting to be a depth ruck/fwd type.. ..but from our team point of view he's very good back-up.. ..and if he's so-so ok with this, keep him.. ..unless the trade is very good, like what port were rumoured to offer us for him a few years ago..

..Knockers i think could attract some attention, and net us something good..

Trade for picks, draft rucks on the rookie list.

In general our strategy should be to hang onto our picks and target free agents.
