Unfortunately, I think he's papers are stamped.
I can't understand it by the way. Silly decision and totally incomprehensible.

Upstart QLD cricketer: There's no "I" in team
Trevor Barsby (captain): There's 3 in "I'm the !@#$%& captain"

Despite the criticism, (after the event of course), I would think Yarran would be a good candidate for a sub in team
that already has form for running out of steam against the better teams. If anyone has the pace to break a game open
in the last quarter he would. He has to have the right attitude though.

It's ok for a team to have "outside" players - quick and talented but perhaps not so hard at it. Maybe though Mick's looked
and our mix and has thought that we're a bit outside heavy, (if you know what I mean). I'm not saying these guys are
soft, but guys like Yarran, Lucas, Gibbs and Garlett are not exactly crash and bash types.

Last season I was dissappointed Ratts went in so small against Hawks. And Gunston & Roughy ran riot. Mick is doing the same tonight.

I'd understand if it was at the G but not Etihad. Obviously going for speed but it hasn't worked against hawks for years.

Hawks will hav Buddy, Roughy, Gunston & Hale all fwd at times. Boots is going to have to step up, Walks will have to play taller and Hendo won't be able to swing fwd.

Unless

Kreuzer goes back and mans a Hale or possibly Roughy
Or
White is a late inclusion

I think as a team there would be a total number of metres per quarter we need to run to give us the best chance of winning. Having Betts Garlett and Yaz all in the team limits that because all 3 are only capable of playing minimal minutes as onballers. Even then they although proven to be decent impact clearance players are far from run hard both way type onballers. If we can find onballers that can play small forward for at least one of those positions we would be better off than having 3 small forwards that maybe can help onball IMO.

Maybe the toss... but if we win the game it'll be the greatest victory since Round 3 against the Wobbles.

Hope so Rexy - must admit after bye and winning 9 straight I reckon they are due for a loss - need a fast start - Need our best game of year - surely they will be fired up after loss to Essendon* - after losing the last 9 times and winning 2 games against them out of the last 16 -surely

Good point. Betts and Yarran have both had interrupted seasons too which wouldn't have helped their endurance either.

Word from Hawthorn supporters is that Sam Mitchell may not play due to the death of his mother in law last night. As big as an out that is for the Hawks, it's still very sad if true and I send my condolences to him and his family.

About this time of year Tom would be able to tell Laids if any clubs are showing interest. He'd also have a clearer idea as to what Carlton had planned. Jeremy is out of contract at seasons' end and it must feel like de ja vu for him. Like Geelong - we'd have told him that he's a required player - but if we're smart we'll only table a one year deal to Laids. But rather than the possibility of losing Jeremy for nothing - if he chose to enter the draft we might managed to improve our position and obtain another pick in the national draft...like Geelong did when they traded Laidler to us.

So it was Laidler and pick 41 for picks 36 and 53. The Cats picked up George Horlin-Smith and Jordan Schroder. We used 41 (ended up being 42) on Luke Mitchell.

So in keeping with the thread title - Carlton by 17 points.

I'm so relaxed about this game, it's staggering.

Hawks by 42pts

I reckon there'd be a list of clubs interested in Mr. Laidler, least of all:

- Gold Coast
- GWS
- Melbourne
- Western Bulldogs
- Richmond
- Adelaide
- Port Adelaide
- Brisbane

Streuth, he might have pick of the litter.
