Also, Nick Graham just tweeted he is playing VFL this week. Unfortunately, that means Cachia can't play anymore either as he was Graham's replacement. Better hope Carrots makes a miraculous recovery.

:banghead: why wouldn't you hold Graham back one more week, play Cachia again, then upgrade him after the bye, instead of Bell .

"Tom Bell was best afield for the Blues with 25 disposals and seven clearances." - last week.
Had 15 possessions, 2 goals against port, had 16 possessions against Brisbane 4 tackles.
Weighs 96 kilos, and is 187 cms tall and can run like the wind and bursts through packs.

No probs.keep him on the rookie list. It doesn't really worry me either way.

All we know is that you know best Cimma 79..You know best after all. I will go to you in future for all knowledge on team selections as you are such a wise sage and we have an oversupply of 96 kilo/187 running tackling players with intent.

But back onto Bell - "The Bull" - the rookie...ha.

“He’s a strong boy, he loves the contest and he’s got a big tank. He always finishes in the top three or four in our time trials around the park. He loves the contest.” – Carlton Assistant Coach John Barker.

STATS THAT MATTER
Averaged eight contested possessions for the year (last year); was accredited with six clearances in the round 19 match against the eventual premiers Sydney.

Another one I like is Menzel. He should be in for consideration too.

Either way - Carlton are not a real contender. They are up against one of the 4 contenders for the flag this week and the next contest. Will be a tough ask. Listening to Kieran Jack on OTC you realise what real intent to win is all about. Team ethos through and through. What a team those Swannies are, and then the Hawks and Cats are just as disciplined. Should be a good grand final this year.

I'm not laughing at Bells ability just his eligibility.

Chambers was robbed. Can vividly remember him getting a leg injury (ended up being a broken leg) in the dying minutes of the game, but as the ball was in his vicinity, in Hawthorn's 50, and opposite side to the interchange bench, stayed on the ground, and forced a couple of stoppages that were vital in us hanging on.

I don't care what anyone says, deserved better did Callum.

Pagan made him put on 9 kilos and it didn't agree with his frame. He really struggled with his body from that time on. Callum was no world beater, but he could have been useful if we managed him better.

Seen his record against us? I'd prefer him to play.

The old friday night blockbuster against hawthorn which should be at the g not the had
Havent beaten them in aeons - not likely to this time either
similar pattern as past years - hawthorn go out to big lead early - then we dominate possessions and kick points and are impotent in attack in the part of the match we have ascendancy - we get belted out of the middle and are intimidated - mitchell has a birthday - blues come from a long way back in the last when hawks coast - hawks by 26 points

Can someone please help me out here? Can someone please point me in the direction of a senior game in 2013 where Bell has undeniably been worth his spot in the 22?

I ask this because I can't find one. It's not 2012 anymore. The 2013 version is slow, lumbering and off the pace.

Yes I would love the AFL to give an explanation as to why we play our home games against Melbourne and Adelaide at the G, yet we play our home game against Hawthorn/Geelong at Etihad - EVERY YEAR.

Will Yarran be dropped? What's this petulance on Friday night? I didn't see anything but maybe others did.

From what I've heard/read (because I'm not bothering to watch replay):
- he didn't warm up once during the game (i.e. run boundary line, stretch etc as subs usually do)
- sulked on the bench for 3 quarters
- came on the ground and did 2 good things in the first 30 seconds, but then did SFA for the rest
- didn't chase or attack the ball
- when Lachie kicked it to him he let Winderlich mark it infront of him (who then kicked it to Melksham for the winner), as he wanted it to fall out the back so he could run down the wing

In others words he throw a hissy for 3 qtrs and then put in a pathetic 4th qtr.

If that's true, and if we're to state that this soft cock approach for players is no longer acceptable, then has to go back to the VFL and earn his place back.

I'm sure Menzel would love the opportunity to be back in the team.

If Yarran wants to sook then Mick should really give him something to sook about and send him back to the twos. Grow up mate.

Would be inclined drop White this week after poor showings against the Bummers and Lions. Not sure who replaces him.

We played Hawthorn at the G last year instead of Etihad for the first time in years and we still got flogged.
