Not sure how we lost this game. Yet another close loss this season. They're going to torpedo our season, unless we can do something dramatic the next 2 weeks. And yet another close loss to Essendon*. 9 out of 10 of the close games against the drug cheats we seem to lose.

Pros:
Waite was brilliant.
Hendo and Murph excellent.
Best game for the year from Casboult. Loved seeing him mark the ball. I reckon he's a better ruckman than Kreuz as well. Actually gets off the ground.
Great jobs from Curnow and Cachia.
I thought Gibbs was good.
Thought Lucas was pretty good too, even though he missed a sitter.

Cons:
Poor output from the rest of the forwardline. Small forwards were poor. Eddie clearly short of a gallop.
Way too often we butchered the ball going into 50. Either kicking to forwards outnumbered. Or handballing to someone at 50 metre arc under pressure.
Not sure why Robbo didn't go to Fletcher. He doesn't like body contact, and we allowed him to match up on Betts. :banghead:
Kreuz is a great inside midfielder. But not much of a ruckman. Ryder had a huge influence late in the game at clearances.

Vigorous co-sign.

I'm not into Lucas bashing, but he might be the replacement

I would have thought the reason they are 'classic' completely dissolves whatever point you were trying to make in the first place.

Classic - Yes, we see this shit over and over and over and over again

Not according to the coaches. Got votes against both Brisbane and GWS. Can't remember before that.

Mitch is one player who has gone backwards under Mick, he played much better under Ratts.

The way he is going his days are numbered. Curnow and Cachia offer hardness, and can tag, follow team instructions etc.

I thought Kreuzer was immense inside the contests tonight. Essendon* would have won a lot more clean ball without him throwing himself around. And people would trade that for a handful of better tap-outs? :donk:

I thought he was great at ground level as well. Problem he's supposed to be a ruckman first and foremost. Ryder's influence late in the game with tap outs was significant. I thought we looked more likely to get a clearance when Casboult was rucking.

Reckon it's been due to change in anti Kamikaze rules rather than the change in coach. But regardless. He persists in Bombing the ball, not sure if Its due to team strategy or panick.

I think Kreuze ran out of puff which is concerning.

Maybe a Casboult/Warnock combo?

No one should be untouchable in this side.

Why did Robinson get AFLCA votes this year if he's gone backwards?

Just another of our non-key tall forwards who struggled to get near it tonight.

Think Yazz can take some there blame with that kick (fine off the boot) but where's the effort to compete when the game's in the balance? Immediately I thought that's 2 games this year you've cost us in the clutch now, Yazz.

I agree. Won us the game against West Coast. But has cost us 2 games. Fantastic talent, but needs to get stronger, tougher, braver.

I love TC after Carlisle and Hurley were spanked by Waite and Jamison for three quarters of the game.

Rucks nullified each other.

Round up the Usual Suspects! :banghead:

Still think Murphy is soft and his disposal by foot is unreliable. Poor ball drop.

Juddy heart of a lion but he cannot do what he has done and his disposal by foot is unreliable -running into an open goal and missing case in point.

Was Murphy soft when he body lined that ball against Dangerfield last year?

Poor kick with his goal against Port?

Easy game if you're being belted by taggers like Copeland since day one and tried to play on with it.

SOFT!

Judd's groin injuries have hurt the depth of his kicking.

Don't think we're not cut because we respond to the overreactions and don't want ten players delisted. :screwy:

No one is as 'usual' as you, I'm surprised you didn't supply a :garthp:. When the sky really does fall, someone with their last dying gasp will give you the biggest put-down you have ever had in your life and it will stick like buggery. I just hope I'm there to see it happen.

I still cannot quite work out how we actually managed to lose that game of footy. :? :?
