It bloody stings, but I can't kill them when we did so much right. Hendo and Jamo owned their key forwards, we dominated long stretches of the game, and ultimately a lot of players lacked composure when it counted most.

Mick will have a lot of material to work with this week.

Levi might have established himself tonight, and some great contributions from others as well.

We can only hope some lessons have been learned and will be acted on. Don't think wholesale changes need to be made next week, reckon they will be keen to make amends.

I'm staggered that people can even attribute a semblance of our loss tonight to the Garlett decision, it was in the first quarter FFS!!!

Nothing to do with umpires, everything to do with our attitude, habits and mental strength.

We fell into their trap again. Every time they beat us we score under 80.

Stupid.

How was that not a free to Betts near the end? Staggering.

Jeffy robbed of a goal. Incompetent.

Not as costly as the misses from Lucas and Kruizer, and to a lesser degree Judd..

Can I just add that by and large I thought the umpires were fantastic tonight and had nothing to do with the outcome, we need to look at what we did to lose the game. Because it was a game lost by us, not won by them.

My gut feel at half time was that we needed to pre-empt them nullifying Waites dominance....and that should've been rolling the dice to try and win the game by moving Hendo in the forward line....

Ummm, we did lose to St Kilda guys, what do we expect really, we're just an ordinary middle of the road team unfortunately...

Um... that's the whole point. :? Don't let our priorities get blurred or we're doomed for another twelve (+) years. :sly:

We had chances to go six goals up in a low scoring game but failed to put away easy shots. That blunder from Lucas was not his only one ... didn't handball to Armfield when he had the chance and ran into Judd when the latter had the right of way.

Won't blame Henderson ... where was Yarran's urgency in this part of the play.

Not happy with Murphy and Gibbs ... and don't anyone quote me any bullshit stats ... where were the match winning acts / sacrifices.

Can't understand the criticism of Kruezer. Some of his taps on boundary throw ins were excellent but if players play flat footed around stoppages and not on the balls of their feet then we they are not going to get to his taps first and also not have the motion to break free.

If you told someone that Waite kicked 7 and we nullified Essendon*'s big names then they would have predicted a Carlton win by 10 goals.

This game highlighted our sloppiness ... 19 inside 50's to us and 6 for them in the first quarter ... with jack shit to show for it.

Curnow passing to Mclean in the pocket in the last quarter instead of shooting for goal (well balanced and within range) shows a missing instinct that is missing from our players. There is this misfire in their footballing instincts ... Robbo, Lucas ... watch Scotland ... he runs one way then stops and props.

If this loss gives us the hurt which in turn drives us to beat Hawthorn then this loss was worth it. I know we can beat Essendon* but I can't say that for Hawthorn.

Hendo played a blinder until his last kick. And Yarran is either fit to play the whole game or not fit for the 22.

Big K, for a #1 draft pick, just doesn't have enough outstanding about him.

Think Yazz can take some there blame with that kick (fine off the boot) but where's the effort to compete when the game's in the balance? Immediately I thought that's 2 games this year you've cost us in the clutch now, Yazz.

Kruezer needs to learn how to jump at the footy to mark & kick a goal. Needs to offer some big man qualities & those of one drafted as a #1 pick.

Then create a position for him as a roaming utility, concentrating on inside contests, why sacrifice a bonofide ruckman that you already have and who's played well.

Really?

We shouldn't have lost the game and I'm as upset as anyone, but that's a pretty shit overreaction

BULLSHIT TBB. Tell me the last time this side won a game when they needed to, when it counted, when it could have set something up for them and when it was against decent opposition. Sugarcoat it any way you like
Mentally weak (as piss)
Do not have the killer instinct
No onfield leadership to stem the tide
Ablett is light years ahead of Judd now
Hate being hunted (See StK, WB, NM etc etc f#$% etc). what have the Saints done since their inspirational win against us?
One way midfield

Beyond rational thought at the moment - the asterisk was the only thing I could come up with and covers all multitude of sins.

Reckon Menzel should now be played as often as possible, fitness permitting.
