Worse than '93?

it's not even worse than round 4 last year.

I thought we could win and we were the better side, but didn't put them away.

It happens. North do it every second week.

Come on....In '93, we were beaten by the better side on the day...

Tonight we dominated the opposition...but tickled and teased them...rather than going for the jugular when it was staring us in the face !!!!

And then, as soon as they landed a glancing jab on our chin, we folded and let them trample all over us and rub our face in the MCG dirt !!!! At 3/4 time, many of us who have followed this lot knew the ending ! It was just a matter of how

If we can't acknowledge this, then we are kidding ourselves.

As much as it pains me to say this....Shame Carlton, Shame !

As a club, we need to stand up and say STOP...we must stand for something bigger and better !!!!

If you can't see improvement in game plan, structure and intensity which has led to 5 narrow losses you are blind. Just quietly the coach doesn't have a young Judd and fev at his disposal

They still can't stamp themselves on the competition

What do you mean improvement in game plan? You mean reverting to a Ratten game style?

Big $$$ were spent to get us results.

It's a defensive gameplan which is why we are conceding less per game. Ratten had no concept of defense

I have promised the kids no more live Carlton games for me. Way too bad for my health to get that angry. It's not worth a stroke or an aneurysm.

Mars free bars promotion all makes perfect sense now. They knew they wouldn't have to cough up the free chocolates.

Probably just feel sorry for us and give them out anyway

I've never been so angry after a match.

Lucas should hang his head in shame. Not fit to wear the jumper. And no I'm not just referring to the shot on goal, he was the weak link all night.

Got my tip right because I have developed a forecasting model for this team, goes something like this:

- Win 3 in a row against subpar opposition
- Get our tyres pumped up by the media and supporters
- Have a chance to achieve something good such as, win 7 in a row, smash a rival or defeat one of the top sides in the competition
- Fail miserably each and every time we get this opportunity, getting belted or snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
- Rinse and repeat

The game was a carbon copy of the Bombers win against Freo at Subi.

Are Freo shit?

Look, i felt trowing the TV out the window but I think we were the better side and lost, that happens.

Would you rather be the better side and lose or play badly and lose?. I know winning is better, but you can't always get the result you want.

I hope Mick Malthouse is earning his dollars still right now.

As much as the umpires [REDACTED] us over by not reviewing the Garlett goal, we times that by 100 by not putting them away.

If an Essendon* supporter (or associated rubbish) gives me grief Tuesday morning at work (and I know that's coming) I'm going to ask them point blank about Garlett's goal, but eventually they'll wear me down to the fact we choked, and we did, Malthouse has had 6 months to mentally toughen this team and we're still garbage.

Absolute garbage.

Time to stand up and beat rubbish like Essendon*.

It's a defensive gameplan which is why we are conceding less per game. Ratten had no concept of defense

In 2011 when Ratten wasn't decimated by injuries the team on average conceded 79 points per game. Under Malthouse so far Carlton are conceding 85 points per game. Obviously a smaller sample and other factors at play, but it is garbage to suggest Ratten had no concept of defence.

I am no fan of Ratten but assess WHY the club spent all the money to get MM...it was to get results.

If the club needed a rebuild why would they spend mega bucks getting MM?

Its not a sprint guys.

Glad is wasn't a shootout.

We still are not tough enough when it counts. They wore our punches then smashed us when we were done banging our head against a brickwall. Old tactic performed well.

Going to be a tough few months.

Malthouse: "Nobody was in charge. We didn't really put them away in the second quarter."

Malthouse: "Players were playing off their opponents due to fatigue. The key indicators were in our favour, but they fell away."

Malthouse: "No, I don't think Essendon*'s changes were the turning point. We gave the ball back to them. It wasn't good enough."

Malthouse: "I want to see who can stand up. They've all shown that they can, but they're not running out the full 100 minutes."

Just massive disappointment mixed with great passion for our club that we all want to be successful. Been a long and sad 12 years Mrs Cazz.

They are a virus.. and dont hold their ground.
they cause the other players to go into a panic...!!!... cos you cannot rely on them to hold up their end...

have i mentioned that????

there are some of them in the side.. and we have a bunch of guys in the ressies we cant even use ... cos theyre not capa ble of playing the modern game.....

i reckon flicking ten is a minimum... not sure how many can be flicked in a single year and find replacements.. but what we see is ridiculous

I've identified 2. Lucas and Robbo gone.
