With you. Expecting an 8 goal hiding, minimum. Murphy to have 14 touches with 0 tackles.

I think supporters are entitled to be a bit sceptical about our form. We have been rebuilding for some time now and I am not really interested in being in a pack of 8-10 teams fighting for the final 4 spots in the 8. It is about time this group of players stamped themselves as a bonofide top 4 team, in the next 5 weeks they have the opportunity to put the football world on notice. This group of players is ripe, we have had a pretty easy lead up to this group of games in terms of the opposition we played. We play two strong teams get a rest and then play another two strong teams after that rest.
The time for excuses has well and truly ended, we have an opportunity to make a statement and it is time to deliver.

Agree. Reasonably confident, reckon our small forwards will get them.

As the pioneer of "don't get sucked in" by the Bombers, I'll admit it.

I'm sucked in.

I'm actually considering staying home.

Is this what I've become? A shadow of the cocky ranga I once was?

Shameful.

What's the build up on radio and in the media for this game?

I'm in Phuket at the moment but can't wait until 4.30pm Friday local time to watch this game....

Haven't we won 6 of 7.

Cazzesman

last week hardly counts
so does the Melbourne game
West Coast and Adelaide are just going this year
Brisbane are ordinary and port Adelaide are over the Hinkley honeymoon period
St Kilda are shit this year
So really the last 7 weeks have been piss easy and we should have won all of them

Saying we have won 6 out of 7 implying everything is going so well is a distortion of the truth.

We have a good chance against Essendon* with the expected ins.
Like last year the bombers have peaked
we haven't played Freo, Sydney,North or Hawthorn yet

Those games and how the team competes will collectively give us the measuring stick on where the playing group is at
And as we all know when we come up against quality opposition who are well structured we go from front runners to pretenders very quickly.
I do believe there has been some gains this year but I aint jumping on the bandwagon just yet

Looking at the draw there are know easy games left this year.
the real season starts now.

just on Essendon*.
under pressure their execution is crap.
they do not play composed footy and what we must do is get in their face and pressure.
swans do this better than anyone...getting hands in the way.
the less pressure the more like witches hats ... the more pressure the more they play uncomposed footy.

its time to ramp the pressure up on these guys.. and that will mean chris judd working hard both ways as well

I am quietly confident, based on the fact we have beaten them pretty regularly over the past few years and the paying personnel hasn't changed that much.

It all hinges on pressure. They pushed us around last year. I think we need to make a statement early and put a few down with strong tackles.
Then we have to kick straight.

If it's dry, we should get up by using space and pace.

Our smalls are better than theirs and we have more of them.

I am worried about their rucks. Much better tha nours and Ryder always seems to save a bit for us.

ahhhhh....phuket...cocktail in hand...beach view...carlton win.
doesn't get much better.
Even if we lose, you'll hardly care. (ok..you will..)

no coverage in the Sun, haven't read the Age yet.
a bit of ribbing from Tim Watson on SEN this morning.
The hypothetical to Andy Maher was..
"say sticks sends an email to mc.kay about us rorting the salary cap by hundreds of thousands of dollars..and you accidently get that email.
what would you do?"
A. Maher replied..I'd blow the story. After all, they've almost ruined my club with this crap before..and I wouldn't let them do it again. Tim W. says...no you wouldn't..you're lying.

ha hah ha. that's telling isn't it.
Can't wait to hear what hypothetical Andy gives to Tim next week.

anyway...have fun..stay safe. :gift:

synners, the same can be said for us.
mebbe if we apply the pressure first, we'll be ok. if they come out more switched on, and apply it to us..
then 'uh-oh.'

That drawn game in 2011 nearly killed me and a 1 point game would do the same.

We have to beat Essendon* - there are no maybe's - season defining moment.

Without a win this week, we'll be lambs to the slaughter against Hawthorn

I'm just wondering how a former school teacher types 'know' instead of 'no'

anyway, media build up to this game is very low key, must be because of the drugs
