Because they can't keep up, or because they don't think he hurts them enough to bother?

Will be good to see how Yazz, Jeffy, Eddie and Waitey go together in the same forward line. Hope they retain Menzel as well and give him a taste of the big stage.

Just imagine this forward line up and firing:

Betts Waite Garlett
Yarran Hendo Menzel

Add to that the pace of Armfield, and the class of Judd, Kreuz and Murph resting up there, and that's some serious x factor in that forward line!

It's just good to be 6th and on the up mid season instead of frustrated and on the downward spiral.

Carrazzo is unlikely to come up and if he does, will more likely be eased back via the VFL.

If he's right I think he will play. Pretty sure he returned in Rd12 last year against West Coast without a run in the 2s (& played very well that night).

If he's fit he's in.

Who has been minding Carrazzo's spot?
Curnow. Run with tagger except Carrots has a few more skills with the ball.
Curnow has played his 2 best games I've seen in a row.
His work and results last week were first rate bar a couple clangers...which everyone else did too.

I really want to keep Menzel in and play Betts Garlett and Yazz in the midfield at times, with Judd, Murphy and Robinson up forward with Waite and Hendo.
Therefore need a tall down back so Bootsma stays and White covers Hendo at CHB.

I reckon we can run rings around them. Nothing has changed in that area in 2012 -13.
The BIG debate is whether Warnock replaces Casboult. I've changed my mind so many times.
Automatically I go for Warnock for Bellchambers and Ryder, but Casboults ruckwork last weekend was great....Kreuzer too. Only Casboult marks.

Bootsma to replace Hendo down back? Lol

Hendo won't spend any time forward this week

White goes to CHF replacing Hendo which means we need another tall down back...and Bootsma is the only other tall who can spoil and run....then there's Watson I suppose.

I don't mind if Hendo is back or forward. He plays where we need him.
If our midfield smashes there's then I would want Hendo fwd where the ball is heading.

True. Had plenty of time on my hands so did the ladder predictor.....have us finishing 8th, one game ahead of 9thmond, with Bummers 5th, setting up a blockbuster Elim final. This assumes that we win none of the "hard" games (e.g. Bummers, Coll, Hawks etc) and all of our "easy" games - big assumptions I know but interesting.

I did have us finishing two clear of 9thmond until last nite though

West Coast were pants. Don't underestimate how crap they were.

Think it's worth pointing out White's ridiculously good record on Michael Hurley in recent times.

Beaten him comfortably twice at AFL level, and gave him a bit of a towelling in the VFL a couple of years ago also.

Usually plays a half before having a career threatening injury..........................................................and then makes it back for the next week.

Not saying he's soft but, well, yes he's SOFT.

That's probably why White kills him, he ain't.

White can handle Hurley, Henderson on Ryder and Jamison could easily match up on Crameri and run off him.

Let's not go tall because its Essendon*. On the MCG we need to use the space and our run and carry.

Dominate the middle get the ball to ground and let our smalls run away from them. Waite and Casboult supported by the three amigos and Armfield will have a field day.

Dominate the middle

I don't think that will happen. If we win I think they will still have more centre clearances. We need to pressure the man like never before and score from their turnovers. Hope they kick badly and score from the kick ins. We need to slow them down kinda like what the wet did to them but without the wet. If they win the centre clearances easily with little pressure they will be inside 50 in a blink and scoring.

Can see them lining up something like this :-

A.Winehouse R. Prior L. Armstrong
C. Sheen M. Renton W.S. Burroughs
T. Leary P.Doherty K. Cobain
W. Houston M. Jackson E. Presley
K. Richards (c) B. Hicks H S Thompson

E.Clapton S.Earle J.Hendrix

Very talented so we shouldn’t underestimate them but reckon if we attack through Richards man we should score.

The team that shits themselves first will lose.

Play to our strengths and we should torch them - kicking a set shot for goal at crucial times would help too.

..obviously you'd rotate the smaller fwds thru midfield [middle and wings], as well as bench to slot in a back-up ruck.. ..but 3 talls at either end can make or break a team these days.. ..can be done, and done well but requires strong work ethic all across the ground, disciplined play, and both good marking and finishing skill..

Bombers are currently favourites with bookies.

That's a good start.
