Lesson from Hawks.....I heard Clarkson say that against Sydney they started to use Roughead at the centre square bounces as a midfielder to combat the power of Kennedy, they needed a big body to help out the others.

Maybe Krooz can do the same type of role if needed against Watson if Warnock plays.

Watson the key to this game, expect Essendon* to target whoever lines up on him.

We can see it coming Wogee.
Let's see what Malthouse brings to the table.
FFS Murph was pushed and shoved in a couple of instances by GWS, what a joke.

So Judd, Carrots and Betts come back in. Who will be the unlucky ones dropped. I would really like to see Bell given some games in a row. Same with Menzel. I guess some tough decisions will need to be made. The MC has not had a good record ... I hope they get it right this time.

Carrots would have to be doubtful to come straight back I'd reckon

Tough isn't it?

Judd and Betts will be straight in and most likely for Bell and Menzel.

Carrazzo is unlikely to come up and if he does, will more likely be eased back via the VFL. There's no shame in that but the week on the track will determine which way we go.

Warnock though makes for the biggest dilemma that the MC have this week. This is just about a 50/50 call for mine.

Can't see Lucas making his way straight in either whether he did have a hammy or not.

Shut them down and its all over.

I'd put Armfield on Hibberd. He really is a key for them...in form and uses the ball well

It's Armfield they should be worried about!

That's my theory. Hibberd etc will have enough on their hands with Yarran, Betts, Garlett, Armfield, Murphy and maybe Lucas & Menzel.

Let them worry about us, not the other way around.

Haven't we won 6 of 7.

Snippet from Malcolm Blight today:

MALCOLM Blight suggests that it is best to ignore the AFL premiership table until June - and, as a pointer for the real race in September, watch for a team that starts a five-game winning streak in the mid-season.

Can we be that team?

If we can beat Essendon*, we will gain a lot of belief.

Hopefully enough to have a serious crack at Hawthorn.

A very exciting month ahead.

I am bloody nervous. A defining moment is beckoning.

Hmm ... yea ... but who did we beat .. and what sides should we have beaten (i.e. St Kilda). Everyone is starting to beat Port. Everyone beats StKilda ... Everyone beats GWS ... Everyone should beat Brisbane. A serious top 8 contender should also beat Richmond.

I am also only too happy to lay the blame at the feet of MM (the so called super coach) ... lol. If we get through the next 4 games and win 3 of them ... I will start writing positive things about the MC. My guess is we will only win 1. Then our record won't look so good.

I hope the MC gets it right ... I hope MM gets it right. I want Carlton to start succeeding big time. We have waited too long ... I don't care that other sides have waited longer ... We, the mighty Blues have waited too long.

I can't stand Essendon* ... I can't stand losing to Essendon*. We MUST win this game ...

I live in hope.

In regards to Walker think Kommer was trying to forward tag one of Sydney's backs (Malceski maybe), but didn't do much of a job. I also heard this morning that McVeigh played mainly off half back and he also got a heap of it.

Would like to see us put a lot of time into Zaharakis. Can tear a game apart if left unchecked.

Hibberd is having an excellent year, but thankfully will have to be more accountable due to the damage our small forwards can do.

Really this mob has been ordinary since Anzac Day. 2-3, which includes stumbling over the line against GWS, and losing to Brisbane at home. If we think we can go 2-2 in the next 4 this simply has to be one of them.

Even with taking into account who we've played recently I am looking forward to the next month with cautious optimism. We've been in every game this year, and have many guys in career best form. It's just a matter of it all clicking at once and what better time than this Friday night.

Excellent post. I agree with this, their last month has been poor to middling including a good start against the Cats and then they just lay down. If we put 4 quarters together we will get them. We are yet to do that this year but it will come.

yes he is our best but thats all he does
That is his prime role though and he does it well.

He's one of those players when in the side we like him in but when he's out we don't want him back in (if one can understand that..lol). Me, as good a ruckman as he is I think we get more value out of Kreuzer rucking most of the day with some relief from Casboult, who can play forward, take a few marks around the ground while smashing up opposition bodies.

Shoulder problem for Ben Howlett. Expected to play against Carlton as is Heppell and Hurley. Dempsey an outside chance

Good - lets smash them with their good players in.
