Because we pissed away upward of $2 million dollars to the coaching department. Wasting money without addressing the real issues.
Another year in a holding pattern. Another year of stifled development.

Not the first time the custodians of this club have wasted money here which in turn meant cutting corners there......

They're killing the club and were supposed to hand over the cash and shut the hell up... No questions...

Terrible decisions.

BV, there's a big influx of cash coming the footy departments way in 2014. Mick won't be hamstrung.

Its not about money Doc.
Its about people and attitude. We hope to match the capabilities of others. We're followers who set boundaries by our own ineptitude. When did Carlton last aspire to be a leader and show the initiative to achieve it?

If you want to implement some entrepreneurial ideas into a football club, you need a little cash to do it. I'm all for their being a 'bubble' around the footy department, but Carlton made the mistake of thinking a bubble belonged on the club as a whole. It's only now that some layers have been peeled back and some decent thinking and engagement is happening. There was no cash to do anything in 2013...I have high hopes there'll be plenty in 2014.

The increase in money for the FD you mention - is this to do with more pokies money coming our way, or more to do with the coaching payouts moving off the books?

Sums up what it's felt like barracking for Carlton for the last 5-6 years.
We're the new Richmond.

one of two things will happen over the next couple of years I think

either Mick will shake the whole club up in a big way, or, he'll walk away in disgust and we'll continue the path to being Melbourne

he won't hang around with pretenders

shit coaches
shit board
shit recruiting
shit player development
shit captains
do all those things and your going to be average

MM is not a shit coach.
Unlike Pagan, Malthouse may be old fashioned to some degree but he does adjust.
Ratten simply wasn't a very good coach
as I said Sep and Oct this year will be fascinating

First thing you would do is replace the board Then go from there.
Have faith MM will try things. He is already. Playing Murphy more up forward and Cachia in the guts is one example
But the board should have gone years ago

Name names Harks! I don't think anyone is a 'pretend supporter'...they just have differing views of how the club operates.

Do some of you guys read your own posts?

Does it really make one feel better to recite the same old, ad nauseum?
Please tell me how that make one feel better and how it serves a purpose? I'm keen to know but not as keen to become part of the whine.

Say it once, say it twice but to cover the same ground over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.............can you see where I'm going?
Boring isn't it?

Who exactly are you calling a 'shit pretend supporter' though? Pretty damning statement leveled at anyone I would have thought.

Since we're so shit from top to bottom why exclude the supporters?

Maybe we're just thinking a little too much of ourselves to go on rubbishing everyone and everything, bar ourselves.

Maybe we're just part of the whole and deserve what we've got. Maybe.

The supporters are the only great asset this club has apart from the history.

Do you base our shit supporting on anything in particular?

Everything else has been discussed and reasons why given.

After 10 rounds last year we were 6-4, and thats what we are looking at this year, though we seem to be doing things in reverse. Lost our first 3 this year and improved since, but still nothing special.

What this year shows is our problems last year begun a fair while prior to the wholesale injuries we experienced. I actually think the main thing which has pulled us from our 2011 level to what we are now is the decline of Judd. Malthouse is trying to make a game plan which isn't based on individuals.

Which supporters?

Why are we different to Collingwood supporters or Essendon* supporters?

Did we come from a different mould or just born into some superiority right?

might not be better than Essendon* or collingwood... but still the best asset the cllub has.
take the supporters we have away and whats left for the club....???

Take the board away.. or the coach away... or the match committee away.... or the president...

wed still continue on ....

you see???.. the best asset this club has is its supporters... not the guys running the club currently...

yes??? no???

its just another way for these guys to see the plain truth...

we can do without them.. they cant do without us....
