I'm a massive fan of Cachia.

He looks very assured for someone who has only played 4 games.

Is he eligible for a NRS Award :?:

Can't remember the last time anyone was nominated from our club

Sadly he is too old, would be nice to get a nomination this year.
When was our last nomination? Garlett?

Chris Yarran - Rd 1, 2010
and
Jeff Garlett - Rd 19, 2010

I'm sure the dearth of NRS nominations in the last three seasons will be attributed to our horrible recruiting record of late by the resident Talking Carlton grumpies.

That would probably be a fair correlation

Players like Tuohy would have been nominated if they weren't too "old" I reckon.

Some of us only say what you are thinking.........

But who can be nominated from what we have been selecting anyway.?

Hard to believe we had to give Hughes time and then when he was sacked as a dud we can't talk about old news.

But the damage is done........

I'm inclined to want to get our best 22 on the field as often as possible so they can have a chance to play as a unit and get that instinctive rhythm that comes with having played good football together.

Betts, Yarran and Carrazzo are in our best 22, and need to come in, so the bottom three drop off (obviously Betts is in next week, so this week we only need to drop two).
Our bottom five are probably Curnow, Bootsma, White, Bell and Cachia - you'd expect the selectors to view roles and probable match-ups against their replacements and make the (probably harsh) call.

We use the game as an opportunity to play genuine opposition, work on our systems and get 4 points.

Then, regardless of the opposition, we do the same next week.

On what grounds have we failed?

You haven't seen the contest yet but are putting a minimum win amount based on what?
GWS's best performance of the year or for their worst?

Strange.

Less than 50.

$6.00 for blues by less than 60 looks ok.

Sydney beat these guys by only five straight kicks just a few weeks ago.
I hope GWS come out full of fire and give us a contest rather than for us to play with witches hats.

It will be interesting to see how we approach this game.
I have little doubt that Cachia, Kreuzer and Bell will spill blood but just hope we don't get ahead of ourselves, to which we have done in previous years.
Must build towards the following two weeks and a lazy effort by any of our guys will only create doubts.

Yarran for Lucas
Hammer for Warnock

Be good to give Menzel a full run in order to eearn ourselves an NRS nomination!

I think we should play for NRS nominations for the rest of the year.

Yarran for Lucas
Casboult for Warnock
Menzel for Mclean (from concussion) or Judd/Scotland if rested due to old age.

That should just about do it. Maybe a roughy if Jamo's shoulders are given a week off. Watto.
