This week is a test in itself - sides have been processing GWS by huge margins this year. We must process by a huge margin...75+ at least. I'll be disappointed with anything less.

Must focus on the process.

I'd sooner win by 60 against the best GWS can offer than by 100 against their worst.

In the meantime keep adhering to the process.

MM won't go with less taggers.

Menzel should have full game.
Watson been solid in VFL and could release Hendo or play 3rd tall as well as White hasn't done enough to remain.
Casboult been impressive in ruck in VFL and should be more damaging fwd than an additional ruck.

Cachia & Curnow stiff but cachia let moloney run riot at times and no need for so many defensive mids this week.

4 changes for a winning team is prob not gonna happen but Collins might even deserve a chance off the HB/BP because Tuohy, seems to be losing his opponent to often at stoppages.

And walks needs to rebound next week after his disappointing effort on bewick. Attacked too much and was caught out too often

These are MM thoughts via his Monday email to members.

Noticeable performers on Saturday night include Jarrad Waite performing well on the forward line, Chris Judd continuing to win the football and put pressure on the opposition, Zach Tuohy's game on Dayne Zorco was exceptional, Dennis Armfield defensively was very good and Jaryd Cachia had a terrific game for us.

MM must have been at a different game to you Hibbo. I think I was at the same game as MM.

Moloney got away from Cachia for 15 mins in the 2nd quarter but otherwise was pretty ineffective and well held. 17 poss was his 2nd lowest of his 9 games with 5 glangers included. Zorco has been a real spark for the Lions this year and Zach had his number. Just 8 poss and no goals to Zorco.

Regards Cazzesman

I wouldn't mind seeing ....

Casboult for Warnock to give him a rest.
Scotto for Boots to give him a rest.
Carrots for Murphy to give him a rest
Menzel for Curnow as the sub.

You might run the risk if we get an early injury otherwise sub Carrots around the 15 min mark of the 3rd all going well and get Menzel on.

Regards Cazzesman

Caz do you mean Boots for Scotto because Boots sat on the bench for most of Saturdays game so he is not short of a rest

Tuohy's steadily establishing himself as a regular.
The more belief he gets the better he's going to be.

Last warmup before shit gets serious.

The greatest fear is an easy game giving us the FIGJAM mentality before Essendon*.

Bombers have Sydney we have GWS. Surely that has to be of benefit to us.

Let those people fit play and those not, not.

But FFS win.

On Jaryd Cachia and calls for him being dropped...

He's played four games of AFL football. Actually, he's played 3 games as in one he came on as a sub in the 4th quarter, and came on as a sub in the 1st quarter in another.

In that time he has averaged 21 disposals (50% contested and 71% efficiency), 4 marks, 8 tackles, 4 clearances, 4 inside 50s and 2 one percenters... per game... as a tagger.

For a guy who has played 3 games of professional grade football, they are outstanding.

Kade Simpson in his first 3 games had... I believe... duck eggs.

Cachia is a work horse on the field, an aggressive tackler, and someone who can hurt his opponent the other way.

Taggers will not win their battle always, all day, with opposition good midfielders (which Moloney is). But how they respond can be crucial, and Cachia responded by completely nullifying Moloney in the second half.

Instead of cutting him, we should be getting around him. The guy is fantastic.

And we only just pipped 'em in the NAB Cup game.

Well said Tekno. I met him a couple of years ago at a family day. Came across as a likeable lad. Hope he continues to progress. I like his attitude.

I'm a massive fan of Cachia.

He looks very assured for someone who has only played 4 games.

Is he eligible for a NRS Award :?:

Can't remember the last time anyone was nominated from our club

My in-law was involved with him at St Kevins and spoke really highly of him and watches him each week (even though he's a North supporter) to see how he goes.

Interestingly, he also captained Chris Judd in his junior days.
