Our players should be sat down and watch the bulldogs earlier today... Their effort and desperation was outstanding.
I have not seen our team do that consistently for a very very long time. I'd go and watch during the Pagan era and sure we got whacked but there were times where the effort there was hell of a lot greater than that 10 minutes of Footy.

Gotta say a half decent team doesnt let that slip.

No leadership that quarter.......by anyone.

We better win this. Good teams don't give up 5 goal leads and lose only shit teams do. We will soon find out which one we are.

This is the pressure Brisbane applied last week on the ball carrier. Voss will just tell them how easily they beat us in the NAB final and to maintain the pressure.
MM has to come up with a structural change and stop Maloney at the clearances. Cachia hasn't got the tank yet. I'd go with Armfield or Curnow.

They kicked six straight. We missed a couple of easy ones. Bell's miss when he had Lucas in the square was a bad decision and the pushing abd shoving that followed it seems to have fired up the Lions players.

Waite seemed to be of the field a lot that quarter as well.

Judd has to get more of it. He's being pantsed by Black.

McLean has been good. Mitch and Lucas getting it.

It's a mental thing from here. If they can get space and kick straight it will be OK but the first few minutes of the quarter are crucial to set the tone.

Warnock gets the hit outs but some of them just go straight to the opposition.

Looking forward to seeing some guts and determination from this point.

People aren't blaming him. But the rot started when he tried to take all the glory.

A simple !@#$%& handball over the top.

He has some very good attributes but he needs to stop trying to be the !@#$%& hero.

You get more plaudits for being unselfish

he'll be better for the experience - both him and Cachia doing well given their lack of

Soft. Shepherding non existent. Tacking non existent. Geez when are we going to get out of this shit hole we are in. We are never comfortable with any type of lead, just give it up so easily.

I doubt even the players would be asking anyone to support that sort of effort.

It's not. 6 goals up 7mins in and now we're down. It says everything about our past 5 years.

This performance is going down the path of the many other results where we were favourites.

Maybe if I watch the Giro d'Italia I can see Cadel lose some more time.

Exactly.

Why kick it to Robbo who was only in a slightly better position and a terrible kick

Robo closer and better easier shot dont blame murph blame robo

Robbo is the worst kick in the team and Murph was 40m out. Didn't have the guts to take the shot.

U have no idea

Those watching are only commenting on what they are seeing and it was very soft. First 10 minutes critical.

Nah, I'm still expecting we'll win.
We're not pressing up the ground enough and leaving space for Garlett and Armfield to run into. More workrate and effort to congest the midfield and we'll be back to playing to our strengths.
To suggest we need to drop Murphy and Gibbs is blatant stupidity.

Are we getting so used to mediocrity we think that 2nd quarter was acceptable? I am just sitting here fuming about what our club has become.

Murphy can't kick 40m set shot... and he knows it

Missed those two easy ones in the semi against WCE in 2011 and imo cost us the game and a trip to the prelim. I was shouted down then but the reality is, he is a shit set shot for goals.

Bollocks.
What would J Brown have done at the other end? Taken responsibility.
If ever we needed a captains goal that was it.

We've totally lost the ability to smash teams. Might happen every
Now and then but not enough. Eg Port last week and shown here
blowing a 32 point lead.

It can only be hoped that the coaches have a positive solution to the intensity problem the second quarter showed does exist. What is clear that the players on the ground do not know how to or cannot fix a run-on by the opposing team.
Time will tell.

Yet again our softness shines through.
We re a middle of the road team at best.
We lack leadership.
Lions to win by 30 pts..

Giving up a 32 point lead against a lowly side is a sign of a team
Bereft of leadership and a team that is
Mentally soft
