Whew! You guys type too fast. I knew there must have been something worthwhile in this thread. It was too hard to ignore for much longer.

So my view. We have contracted Pagan and so he should have a say in the mix of his assistant coaches. That said, the board should be ratifying all appointments. I actually believe that Pagan and a board member should together be interviewing the new candidates. That way you have the coaches input and the board's input at the same time. To me Peter Dean would be an excellent candidate.

Regarding Synbad, I seriously believe that you should run for the board mate. You have a lot of support within this forum and most of them would be members. We may not all agree with you 100% of the time, but we know that you have the CFC at heart and you are not afraid to rattle a few trees. We need radical change at the CFC. Some of it is already happening, but there is soooooo much more that we need to do to get our club back on top. Would you seriously consider it? You would have my vote.

Im too busy with TC to ever have time for the board......

Nah... i really believe what this club needs is some high powered business people who are supporters.
The type that eat meat pies and can sometimes get away to training...

But a board member must be capable of bring a few hundred thousand dollars to the club per annum in contacts alone as well as have an understanding that theyre not there for a CV alone..
I think too many of them see it as an opportunity to feel important and dont bring the fundamentals the club requires with them..

I cant bring what i really believe a board member SHOULD be able to bring to the club..

Im miles off....

Im just a supporter who loves the club and wants us back at the top where we belong again....

Unfotunately in the cut and thrust world of big buiness and thats what a club is ... being passionate is not enough.. but it does go some of the way in my opinion....

Yes. Good point, but surely not all of the current board brings in big money. Now where did that poll go?...

Was that the shortest poll in TC history?

What were the results? I wanted to read Synbad's reply before I voted. I'm sorry, but what was really wrong with the poll?

I guess I like to stick to football which I know a modicum about and leave the entertainment to the experts.....anyways i aint much chop at the ranting and raving ..couple of other gents have me covered in that area.....

What do you reckon! Do you seriously think that wouldn't have ended up in a litany of drivel?

Just move on and let the personal vendettas be. How many times does this have to be mentioned.

I think the Mods thought I was taking the piss. Well, I have been having some fun today. But the poll was serious. Synbad has some strong opinions and is clear in his mind about waht should be done, thus I reckon he should have an opptunity to have input at the highest level within the club.

Result were 6 for nil against.

Camel if you read my post suggesting that Synbad stand for the board I did use the word "seriously" a few times? There was no personal vendetta in anything that I posted.

We need people of Synbad's ilk on the board. I don't believe that all board members need to be business people that can bring in the dollars. Anyway, it is your choice. My suggestion to Synbad still stands and I believe that he would get a lot of support.

There is no problem at all with anything you have posted on this subject. The relevant people have been contacted via PM. Apologies if you felt I was having a go at you.

Let's move on now.

I remember in the first year of high school I had a fight with a kid at lunch time, so the next lunchtime the year co-ordinator made us walk around school with one hand tied together picking up rubbish. Five minutes before lunchtime the co-ordinator brought the whole year together and made an announcement of our punishment, after copping the abuse of our year for the whole of lunchtime, me and this kid were actually quite good friends.

And the moral of this story is....

Thats illegal.. you cant tie kids up anymore...

You have to be over 18 for bondage sessions....

You know what you got the warning for, don't you.

.

Well?????

Obviously youve been in deep discussions about it and know.. i dont REALLY know......

wanna share what you and camelboy know ??? :-D

Suggest you PM Camelboy for the reason. I do know, I got told off for baiting you, for which I admit that I was to an extent. So I will cop it on the chin and try to restrain myself from doing so in the future. But I reckon your warning had nothing to do with my poll though.

Synbad knows exactly why he was warned, it was explained clearly in my PM to him. And you also know exactly where you stand right now.

Now, if we have brains whatsoever, Burke should be the man we are adding to the coaching staff.

Why??????

Why should we be chasing Burke, or why did he quit?

The positives I can see for recruting Burke are he played the game with distincition and appeared to have the respect of his peers. In many ways his playing career is the perfect role model for our kids, and indeed many of our senior players.

Having said that I am not sure what ideas and techniques he could bring the club, but on the surface I reckon we could do a lot worse than sign up Burke.

Very happy to have Nathan on board if we could get him.

Why should that be a prerequisite?

Libba never won a Grand Final let alone ever got to one.

We should be bringing in guys who have the character we require, the knowledge and skills to pass on etc etc

Basically I want someone who brings something new to the table.
