LOL at those saying it's shoulder to shoulder. It clearly isn't if he has a broken jaw....unless....

The jaw bones connected to the...shoulder bone....

It appeared on last nights replay that it was primarily shoulder on shoulder with Eddies head then hitting the shitkilder players Jaw and snapping it in 43 places.

Yes, so the MRP will say that Eddie caught him high (they don't care whether it's Eddie's head or shoulder) and broke his jaw. Hasn't a leg to stand on.

I agree with you on the finding im just over the rule... and more importantly i think he wouldn't have done what he did if some of the others showed some physical presence. in a stupid illogical self defeating kind of way, what he did was good for the team.

The rules aren't too bad in my opinion, but the penalties are screwed. e.g. Wellingham...for an act like that, there should be no reduction for good behaviour or a guilty plea.

It's a fair decision. He didn't need to do it.

Needs to take his medicine on this and realise he's let the team down.

Challenge it and either get off or get 5? Not worth the risk in my opinion.

How can everyone not see that it's shoulder to jaw? Take the eye-patch off and give it to Tommi. Ed has done the wrong thing - it's late, he's jumped off the ground, it's high and it's intentional. Is it worthy of that long? Probably - the kid has a broken jaw. Take the 3 weeks.

I agree, obviously it was his shoulder that hit his jaw. It couldn't have been anything else. Only issue I have is the original penalty of 5 weeks before the good record & early plea comes in to it. Seems way to excessive to me.

The penalty of 5 only highlights how ridiculous Wellingham was to not go straight to the Tribunal and get possibly two months.

Isolated, 3 weeks in the end is fair for Betts.

One thing is for sure Lucas will never break a jaw....,

Three weeks is what I feared for Eddie.... Too bad

You really are bordering on pathological if you have to hijack this thread to stick the knife into Lucas again. :garthp: :garthp:

Regards Cazzesman

did you have anything to do with his recruitment in the draft? You're acting very defensive.
This is a forum and Eddie used a hip and shoulder unfortunately it was high.

Lucas hates physicality and I know he wouldn't get into trouble laying any physical pressure on the opposition. He others to sledge.

I don't mind what Eddie did but he must cop the punishment for injuring the head.......

It's the rule.

But you are very defensive about Lucas seems like when they considered him you were nodding.
But don't take it out on me....

5 weeks you're having a laugh, it's late: because it's a shepherd.
22% of a season as the penalty for a late shepherd.
Remember the Eagles/Pies NAB Cup game Nick Maxwell's bump on Patrick McGinnity and his broken jaw. Maxwell Cleared on appeal after five minutes.
Reckon the Drug cheats at Tullamarine won't even get a week.

 It saddens me even more how far our supporters accept the bullshit we get from the AFL. This club has gone down a long, long way.

The Club can confirm that Eddie Betts will accept his three-match ban for rough conduct.

The only dumb thing to do here would have been to challenge it .

Every flower thinks they are victimised by the MRP.

If it had been Eddie on the end of that bump and a broken jaw we'd want the guy rubbed out for 5 weeks minimum.

Changed my mind now that I've read the Tribunals reasoning...had his feet off the ground...shits me but I like that judgement from that perspective...it was always charging if your feet left the ground.

What I can't stand is to see Sylvia (the woman basher with plenty of tribunal appearances and bad record and probably carry over points) gets the same as Betts, 3 weeks, for deliberately going for the head and knocking out his opponent.

See something wrong with the penalties...maybe Betts is correct and sylvias is too lenient.

What did Wellingham get for Simmo? That'll do.
