Yup. We can't get ahead of ourselves. Post positively, but don't go overboard and get all arrogant. Arrogant posting and just expecting us to win and they players will read it and just expect to win too and then lose and then we will post negatively and the players will read that too and the lose all confidence and will keep on losing and then we will end up with the wooden spoon but at least we will get a good draft pick and access to the best young talent in the land, giving us a chance to move back up the ladder and hopefully play finals soon. Beards.

Agree, just think back to last year and the Gold Coast.

+ last year's Port game. We were ordinary against GWS & Melb last year too (even though we won those games). We should never have lost to St Kilda twice last year either. Our players have a proven track record of getting ahead of themselves.

The good news is that MM strikes me as a coach who will jump all over any sign of complacency. He won't want to lose his first game against his protege Neeld either....

IN : 4 ?
OUT : 1 OBVIOUS

BELL INCLUDED, NAMED AGAIN, WHO FOR???

WHAT DOES HE NEED TOO PROVE IN THE SECONDS TO MM TO GET A GAME, WORK ON HIS DEFENSIVE SKILLS, OR KEEP RUNNING ALL GAME. CRAP!!! PLAYS 1 GAME, BACK TO THE SECONDS B...S..T

WE GOT SOME VERY EXPERIENCED PLAYERS AND 1 OTHER RUNNING PLAYER WHO HAVE DEFENSIVE DEFICENCIES. THEY DONT GET DROPPED. OR MAYBE MM HAS GOT SOMETHING UP HIS SLEEVE FOR YOUNG BELL FOR LATER ON THE SEASON.

ANYWAY HOPE IT ALL GOES WELL FOR THE GUY, EVENTUALLY HE WILL BE A AUTOMATIC PICK

Settle down

Last years game was different. End of year, injury ravaged team sick of the year and the coach

This time we are near full strength and have Malthouse as coach. Players playing for their spot in the team

And besides have you seen Melbournes team??

Look I am as worried as anyone about complacency. I was there too during the Ratten years !

But seriously, we will win in a canter this Sunday. 80 pts minimum!

But if we move back up the ladder we'll get a worse draft pick.

HBF for HBF. Gibbs out + Cachia in.
All players on the list with form that justifies playing for CFC can expect to play and show what they can bring to the table. Bell and Watson have had a shot. Cachia gets a go.

It would be great to see Cachia get a run and I assume he will as it would seem pretty pointless to promote him from the rookie list and not play him.

I wonder if Mick will be tempted to give Watto a shot in the next few weeks, maybe resting Jamo vs say GWS...seeing as Patton won't be there. Watto really looks to be one of those types who'll never tear it up in the VFL, so maybe worth a shot. Better than playing him against the Filth, where he's played about 50% of his "career".

MM has clearly shown that he wants players to be able to play multiple positions. It is why Laidler is in the 2's. Watson, Mitchell and McCarthy will never get a run (assuming the current players stay healthy) until they can play other positions. Plus Watson hates body contact, which is very clear for anybody who watches him play. His biggest asset in defence, his size, he will not use.

This is what worries me, they outdo us in Beard density, length, and pure facial numbers. it may give them an edge on the scoreboard.

Nonetheless I'm tipping us to win by 62

Blues by 55 points. I think it's going to be a destruction of Melbourne.

Hope Waite kicks a few and gets through uninjured.
