I think he is too....

But really... we played him on the wing against Stanton in that horrid loss last year on the G.

How [REDACTED] up was that anyway???

Here I was thinking TC would be in good spirits after a gritty win. How I wrong I was.

For mine, I couldn't help but compare it to last year. It was almost a mirror image. We absolutely obliterated them in the contested ball. They made countless skill errors and dropped marks. A star goes down with a serious injury. One sides season looks over, the other is looking up.

McLean BOG for mine. Ran hard all day, won the 50/50s and always looked dangerous. He might be the slowest player in the league, but disrespect him at your peril.

Walker was probably next. He's a new man, taking what Yarran used to offer down back and added an elite tank and a bit of grit. The result is some seriously good numbers at high efficiency. Feels like only yesterday he was Ratts' whipping boy for his use off halfback. Accountability is still an issue though, but good signs ahead.

I'd also give a mention to the likes of Jamison, Warnock, Tuohy, Garlett and Curnow (when he doesn't have the ball). All played great team orientated roles.

I just can't believe the negativity in this thread. As others have said, we're 3-2 when many expected 0-5. We're locked in at 9th, one win behind Collingwood, Freo and Richmond. Our next 5 are very, very winnable.

It's not the time to be slashing wrists!

I reckon Crows are a confidence side.
If you give them drugs they feel invincible... but if u suddenly tell them they cant have anymore cos its tricky this year.. the players will go into their shells.
The solution???... sugar tablets...

The defense looked shaky again when Gibbs went off. He was quite clever in the first half working the angles and using his hard defensive running. Hope his hammy is not too bad.

Still a few players not quite there. Hopefully Malthouse can iron that out.

The Crows have a super lazy midfield. Dangerfield, Sloan and Thompson were terrible with their defensive running and made life easy for out attacking players.

Kreuzers best work is a roaming footballer.

Not in the ruck... just that in the ruck he can roam
You create a position for K... and that is let his smarts .. defensive efforts... work ethic .. and God given footballers talents to be used.

He isnt the best ruckman at the club but he is on e of the very best footballers.
Kreuzer is not a forward, never will be. Already sc rewed around with trying one ruckman up forward. It' rarely works. Best results will come from Waite and Casboult. We looked lot better up forward last year when those two were playing together (Gold Coast disaster not withstanding, even then they combined for 2.10...eek). Straightened us up going forward.

Couldn't agree more, he can start forward or even back if needed at the bounces, then go roam. Use him where they need him.otherwse he knows where to go. The Roamer- exactly

you could tell Kruezer that he is the forward line but not nominate a position ... just tell him that he is in the forward line ... don't worry, he will find himself in the play and blow up his opponent trying to keep up with him ... he knows his footy.

tonight ... not impressed ... people have stop mentioning that they were top 4 lasy year because they are nowhere near that now.

Walker and Mclean very very good. tuohy impressive. gartlett too much for them to handle.

Warnock's game has been over rated.

Rowe had some goal assists but we need to persist until better comes along.

Some over the top criticism of Lucas ... it was he, Walker, Tuohy and Gibbs that got us "running" early on. I doubt Malthouse is going to drop him.

Fingers crossed that Mitchell has a good one in the two's because he is edging closer.

Doubt he'll be dropped aswell & don't think he should either.

He does make some perplexing decisions with the ball at times though. :?

I cant recall too many wins against the Crows in recent years. A 5 goal win is a good result.
A good team effort, although like many i was getting a bit worried in that last quarter.
McLean and Walker were our best again.
A good crowd on a balmy night, I was sitting near the Crows cheer squad. What a bunch of sooks.
Winning is certainly better than losing.

Good win and very happy we fought them off in the last.
Disappointed that tex walker and Eddie betts both had more marks than Rowe and hammer. Was worried at the start when their walker seemed to make leading and marking look so easy and wonder why the crows were kicking it low to a lead and we keep bombing it high....
Certainly would have taken a 5 goal win at the start. Not sure we would have won without the walker injury though...

Pros:

Great start to the game.
Reasonable win.
I think we started the year with players like Duigan, Davies, Joseph and Bootsma (who I'm a fan of) in our defence. Sure looking a lot better with Walker, Scotland, Gibbs and Simmo down back. Good decision makers and ball users. Still want to see more of Gibbs in midfield. But it's been a brilliant decision to send Simmo back. Has regained his confidence and form.
Warnock, Judd, Carrazzo and Robbo. Robbo is just brilliant at the centre clearances.
McLean, Garlett and Yarran up forward.

Cons:

Only a reasonable win. Let them in with a sniff in the last quarter. Got lazy.
Tall forwards. Rowe starts well, but seems to run out of puff. Of the 72 goals we've kicked so far this year, we've only got 4 from Rowe. And 2 each from Kreuzer and Hampson. And 0 from Casboult. Hammer has been particularly disappointing. Henderson kicked 1 in the 5-10 minutes he spent forward.
