We won but again, far from convincing. Too many turnovers, cheap goals conceded, our regulation fade out in the last quarter. We also seem to blindly bomb the ball to nowhere a lot and give it straight back to our opponents, this happened at least 10 times today.

From what I see we are miles away from being a top 4 side, top 8 at best. Not necessarily a bad thing, a decent base for Mick to build from, but gee I think we're kidding ourselves if we expect to be challenging this season.

In any case, good to see Simmo get back to some form, his best game for the year. Judd was immense, Murph solid, Walker great again, Tuohy was good at the back. Yarran all class again in the last with the steadier and Jeffy with 4 goals continuing his good form.

Im with everyone on Hampson, he has to go, we can't persist with him much longer. 206 on the other hand was immense, great to see him in good form, he's our number 1 ruck defnitiely.

Im happy we got the win and we should be 3-3 next week so our season is back on track, but gee would it hurt for us to run out a game comfortably for a change?

Would have by 12 goals if we had one of those. Looks like Megs will see a bit more of hammer.

We fought back late in red time, it was the first 20min of the last quarter we weren't switched on.

We always struggle to beat Adelaide, today we did it comfortably, to me that's a huge step forward as a playing group.

Next is 3 wins in a row, then 4, then 5.

We are getting better by the week and will only improve as we get our tall forwards contributing more.

Brock McLean was our best player for 4 quarters.

Ken doll played his usual dangerous key post briliiant game

That guy.... needs to go the Magoos and learn to ruck...a career as a CHF is not beckoning......
His only chance is to learn to ruck and play elsewhere.

as for Rowe.

Yes, I'll take the four points, there were some good things and some not so good things. 61 inside 50s deserves more than 8 marks inside 50, can only get better surely. As much as I like him, Hammer did have a shocker. Seemed to be in a different place for mine, or not fit. Rowe was down compared to recent form.

Too many poor decisions that resulted in rebounding over our heads. Crows are good at getting free 20-35m in front of the ball and then getting the ball on a lead. Happened too often.

Brock, Walks, Jeffy, Juddy, Gibbs (when on), Lucas, Warnock (but ineffective around the ground), Yarran a bit, Den, Jamo, Carrots all good.

Also Robbo

Totally agree. Also, Rowe not much chop at all. Both of them are dumb and lazy footballers.... no leading into space. Bring back Casboult and give Mitchell a go
Laziest midfield in the comp

Don't understand the Malthouse gameplan?

Enlighten me TBB.
Let me guess, they're told to bring the ball to the ground at all costs.....Now I get it....so when I saw Hampson lead up a couple of times tonight and he had a metre distance on his opponent and 10cm reach difference, he dropped it deliberately so that Garlett, Betts or Yarran who were 25 metres away could swoop on it in under a second

You just told us there was no leading to space.

Hampson dropped those pretty obvious. He struggled tonight.

Malthouse game plan revolves around coming along the boundary and then bringing it back in to the hotspot, 15-20m from goal. Hampson and Rowe are there to mark the ball if possible, but bring it to ground...you got the rest with Garlett, Betts and Yarran crumbing.

We'll start slow for you. Understanding coaches and game plans has never been a strength for you.

If you understand that we'll explain the rest for you.

Rowe has played 4 games, deserves the same opportunity Hampson has been given for a number of years.

Only saw about half the game, but I agree. Worst game I've ever seen from Hammer. Needs a run at VFL level. Casboult only needs another reasonable performance to return.

Yeah, not sure whether it was simple midfield laziness. Or poor defensive set up. Not sure why we didn't leave some players in defensive 50 once we got 5 goals up. Bombing into a crowded forward 50, then watching the ball rebound over your head into an open 50 is dumb footy. Especially since Adelaide struggle to kick goals any other way.

Lucas is a sub average early pick... him n watson... OMG!!!!...
Someone ... i think kouta called Nat Fyffe a turnover king???
Does the guy watch the games??.... Fyffe is a star!!!... Lucas is a problem !!!
There is a 50/50 chance each time Lucas touches the ball or is in the play that something bad is going to happen.... you can go back as far as the Kreuzer knee re-co...
How do we draft a player that early who cannot kick???

I can't believe how negative the comments are after beating a side thar was top 4 last year
If we make the 8 phenomenal effort with this list
Rowe exceptional for a 5 game chf. He gets to heaps of contests and brings the ball down for the little guys.
We are in this season now up to eyeballs

The only negative aside from Hampson

@CarltonFC: Malthouse: "We're still having our lapses, which is disappointing." #IAMCARLTON

I have to agree, Lucas has a limited football brain. May not make it but synbad talk to us about how malthouse is turning Garlett yarran arm field and thoHY and warnock into footballers

It was sheer laziness.!!!...its Ratten hangover...
Anyway... next week if we win ... i think Malthouse has already equalled the 'Ratten streak'.. is it 3 in a row.. or does he need to get 4 to already equal it???
2 ugly wins... but were working through some of our issues...
Im not concerned with our tall set up .. up forward...we just have to work around it instead of getting fixated by it

Anyway... 2 useless talls forwards is not the answer ofcourse... cos not only are u not getting the marks but you cost yourself in the run dept.. and run is where its at these days!!
