Was it deliberate?
Was Goodes hurt?

I'll take any advantage we can get: MCG, Thomson out, Tippet gone, Petrenko flu

Vince will probably come back & murder us

Find it hard to blame Ratts for Lucas' development. Ratts really liked Lucas but Lucas' development went off the rails with injury and then just plain bad form. Couldnt kick a drop punt for a season. He is giving it a nudge this year but still on the edge of our best team. Looks a little lost at times and seems confused as to what he is meant to be doing out there. Perhaps clearer instructions will help there. Needs to go harder too.
Collins hasn't had a good run of games also due to injury and bad form.

I am sure everyone agreed Ratts had had enough time to get results and it was time to move him on but some of the reasons people give to put him through the ringer seem a little off to me.

Joseph is the obvious out.
Ellard BOG in the 2's and kicked 4 goals. Deserves a game, but not many deserve to be dropped. If eddie isn't ready yet I would just go with ellard for Joseph as the only change.

If Eddie comes up he is an automatic inclusion, so then the question is do we drop another for ellard.

Can't believe anyone would want to drop Lucas. The last 3 weeks we've been lamenting the lack of development and wasted draft picks and why can't we be like Geelong and such. We have a highly talented first round draft pick play his best month of footy for the club, make some big improvements, and show signs of confidence growing, and we want to drop him? The mind honestly boggles at some people's thinking

No way I would drop simmo either, he's been a great player for a long time, have some faith, he'll come good. His effort and desperation at the contest can't be questioned and that gets him over the line in my books.

I loved what white did and would leave him in. Really think he's going to be a player after not being overly convinced early on.

The only one I would consider dropping would be curnow but it would be pretty rough. He did well last night, and was tough in the contests. All depends just how well ellard played. Hard to tell without watching the game.

I'd leave the talls as they are

As per Mick's horses for courses policy - it might be worthwhile bringing in Bell to fulfil a role of a big bodied midfielder to negate, Dangerfield, Thompson, Sloane etc at centre bounces, as Adelaide have killed us in there the past couple of times.

Is there any doubts on Murphy playing? Got that corky and they're normally worse after the game and players sometimes miss the next week.

Bell not fit enough for AFL... he struggled today with puff.

Worst coach since Ian Stewart...... don t worry about defending that guy.
Terrible.. terrible coach..!!!!. and over 5 seasons of his cluelesness....
Noone went forward to any great heights under that Ratts... nobody!!!..... the human glass ceiling
You really dont want that guy in charge of your players and team....its why he is finished as an AFL head coach...

Please... enough of revising history... it makes me feel ill to know some people actually think he was a goodd coach and unlucky.
If his name was Knights he would be getting totally slagged off after a season...

Exactly Agro.

The Crows are a team that creams us in the middle with their big bodied midfielders, just as the Hawks and Swans have been doing. We need to have some strength and weight to throw in the midfield, especially in finals footy. Bell has plenty of time to learn his trade in the 2's

Horses for courses for me is Bell in the midfield ...even if he is still learning.

We have to win the ruck and hopefully to advantage.
Warnock can beat Jacobs, sand so does Hammer. Rowe & Casboult would struggle IMO.

Sorry mate.. noone else hired him as an AFL and wont.. but we ept him for over 5 years...
So lets not pretend right??... nothing worse than pretending Ratten is a desirable coach.. and Sticks is a desirable president...
They wouldnt have those possies for any other well run club.

I find it hard enough to get rid of the bitter taste of him being allowed to be custodian of our team for over 5 years... by another guy who gave him a contract and remains unaccountable in the payout!!!!...

So please dont bring him up like some kind of Carlton martyr.. its sooo wrong!!!!...

hes a good ex player... who got had mates running the club ....and got lucky... !!!!
Thats it!!!

Gotta move on Synners. Can't change the past or fix it. It's the future that counts.

Last year when we played Adelaide, Carrots was gone & we lost Murph just before half time. Having Carrots available to cover a mid will be a massive advantage compared to last year.

Ellard's form in the 2s is too hard to ignore. He is a tackling machine and bobs up for handy goals too. He is a player that MM would love. Can really see him cementing a spot this year. Issue is, I can't see who misses out to let Ellard in. Curnow was pretty good against WCE.

Joseph for Betts. Ellard for someone. We have to try settle the side.

Waite, Kruze & (hopefully) Laidler to come back and we can finally field our BEST 22.

I agree about Ellard and I think he could replace Curnow. I love his attitude and sticking to his job but his disposals are not great. He often kicks blindly bobbing it up. Also, probably more crucially he lollipops handballs to a head not midfrift so often players are slowed down as they reach for it increasing the chance of being tackled.
