..great game, more team orientated play and it's what we make us much better.. ..awesome protection for yazz running into goal..

....in regards to Knockers, for a guy playing 1st ruck, he only managed a few extra hitouts compared to hampson.. ..had less disposals, marks, 1%s.. ..basically, he had a decent game nothing special however.. ..i dont think he's a straight up superior tap ruck.. ..he's better at negating the opposite ruckman in he taps, but he rarely dominates hitouts and doest have a high hitout to advanatge ration..so i think he's extra height seduces ppl.. ..but he doesnt use his height anywhere near enough.. ..he does have a month to put his case fwd..

We were watching different games.

I reckon hes faster than Garlett and Yarran even

I think there's was talk in Yarran's 2nd year when asked who was the fastest Amigo (Betts Garlett Yarran) and there was reference to Army in that conversation.

I reckon Army is the fastest but Garlett goes good too...we are talking leg speed with no Bettsy like hand eye speed tricks.

Tuohy showed a bit of speed last night...I don't think he's like the 4 I mentioned but last night looked like his balance and running were on song...the West Coast couldn't catch Tuohy either.

Kane Lucas - Tentative start (seems to take a ...... nah I won't say it) but I think did OK as the match progressed

I have noticed that Lucas is a bit of a ball watcher and last night was no exception.
He needs to learn to put pressure on the man and go for the ball when its his turn.

I am in no doubt now that we must persevere with this kid because he's showing signs of improvement every week.

I love the speed he has to run out of defense or creating space.

He'll be a beauty by the end of the year at this rate...IMO

Loved the team efforts of Garlett, Armfield, White, Juddy and a few others.

On the other hand there are a few who still don't commit their bodies to physical contact for the team. This has to change soon or they must be moved on, no matter what their surname is.
A premiership team needs 22 players committing body and mind for the team.

Thought Murph was excellent in response to building pressure.

Rowe looks willing an able to create a presence up forward.

Can Warnock stay on the park ?

So.........maybe Gibbs is actually a classy HBF who drifts fwd occasionally to score, rather a mid fielder ?

Starting to look that way for mine. Not such a bad thing, but just means we need to get some more mids.

I'd be interested to hear what club29 has to say about this

Very wrong Gibbsy will be elite by seasons end. Every bit as good if not better than Murph. His tackling tonight was fantastic.

Agreed his tackling really stood out to me tonight. At vital times when none of our boys could stick a tackle Bryce nailed some very difficult, hard tackles. One 20m out definitely saved a goal and we kicked one at the other end from the turnover

Gibbs knows how to hurt. I like that. Shows he's got a bit of footballer (I mean c$@t) in him.

I was watching his body positioning last night and dead set he's a master of positioning and geez he hurt a few with his bumps last night...did all right towards Varcoe too last week.

Why didn't WCE score a goal in the last?
We hurt them.
We wore them down.
The umps couldn't help them get over the line.

Loved the selfless efforts from Jeffy, Army, Brock, Touhey, Robbo, Juddy. Thought Lachie Henderson was outstanding, all class and so exciting to see Yarran break free and kick straight!

Likewise, I remained a slave to one TV..

On another note , I was mentioning before the game that I thought Ellard should have replaced Brock at selection..how wrong was I... Pfffffft ..goes to show I know sweet FA...

Brock has found his mojo again was fantastic tonight after a good game against the cats.

Very smart player who spreads well, which offsets his lack of pace.

If he continues like this he will be in our leadership group next year.

Also, no one else will agree but I think this year Jamo is back to his 2011 best.

Jamo has been fantastic this year, I agree. Got more support once he spoiled last night then the other weeks.

Nah, I agree on both fronts.

Woosha is about the only thing I like about West Coast, but that interview was rubbish. Came across as a bad sport. Probably just frustrated at dropping a 3rd home game more than anything, but it was an ordinary effort from him.

What did he say?

Our turnovers cost us
We let Yarran & co get goal side
We kicked 7.23, if it had been 20.10 we'd win
We made too many mistakes
We didn't take our opportunities

Finey just bagged him on SEN for it

I for one couldn't agree more n he's been sensational thus far.

fingers cruised the 2011 laidler returns to help give a chop out from time to time.

Those 50/50 marks against Kennedy surely said we were lucky we didn't trade Jammo.

Kennedy is strong as an Ox and Jammo just was able to hold his feet and nudge Josh wherever he liked.

Jammo is in AA form...just don't like some of the kicks out of congestion he does...other than that...he's in AA form.

Yes HTP, you are in fact the only one who thinks this!

In my defence, 'good' game meant less shit than his three previous games.

Yeah nah yeah, reckon he's turned the corner (not just because of the goal). It's just a vibe I have.

I also like Woosha but i wonder: its it him that tells his players to cheat for free kicks at every opportunity or do they have a specialist coach for that?

Woosha always bent the rules as a player but I reckon he would have been mortified if any of his opponents had used the sorts of weak as piss tactics his players use to get free kicks

Or you could argue that Selwood junior is just copying his brother Joel, and Hams is just a one-off flower who taught himself.

The most impressive aspect of last nights win IMHO was our ability to shut them down completely in the last qtr. I kept expecting them to come at us and for us to just hold on or lose and in the end we won comfortably. Can't remembered the last time we were able to do that at a place like subiaco....

I use to like Woosha, but having seen his form last night...he's a sook...SOOK!!

Have a look at his thick SOOK head.

Last night we went back to a simple one on one shut down game. Worked very well and its a good way to work on defensive game but wont happen every week. It's took mentally and physically taxing.

What I like is we are now more and more competitive week in week out. I never feel like we will get run over.

The attitude of the playing group has been fantastic and they are slowly reaping the rewards. Even last night I thought there were times when we were hesitant and reactive as we what we are trying to do isn't yet instinctive.

We now have a run of games we SHOULD win. This will keep building on the confidence and team cohesion. Given that we should have Ellard, Waite, Betts, Menzel, Kruezer, Laidler, Buckley, Casboult pushing for spots over the next few months we are in a good position.
