..apparently GWS were sniffing around Knockers last year, and could be interested again this year.. ..what do they have that we want?, and could be a plausible trade for big Knocks..

..you may, but do you have suitable suitors to make it a worthwhile trade.. ..also consider if Krooz is 1st ruck, there's an option to play Hampson on the field still, as FP/Ruck.. ..but no real option to play Knockers, he's very much a 1st ruck in his own right..

..i think with the way MM likes his team to play, and the way Krooz goes about his game,, that not only would Krooz be the first ruck to be picked, he'd be in the top 3 players picked for the team overall.. ..MM is a huge Krooz fan.. ..this being the case, it's hard to see Knockers be anything more than ruck depth for us, unless he lifts his game overall to a whole 'nother level.. ..with Krooz now fully fit and jumping again, Knockers' percieved tapwork superiority isn't as clearcut as it once was..

..of course, if Rowe and especially Levi improve significantly this season, we may go hard and look to trade BOTH Hammer and Knockers.. ..and get another raw ruck type via the draft to look to the future with, and see if we can make up some ground list-wise via offloading both rucks..

Your points are valid BKB, I just reckon that 206 has more value as genuine centre sq ruckman with Kruizer playing a roaming ruck rover type role..

..i can see how ppl can be seduced by the idea of Krooz playing as RR.. ..it's the same with how many of us thought he could be a KPF as well.. ..but the fact is, his strength [much like Cox], is his ability to punish his opposite ruck around the ground.. ..but vs another mid/KPD,, he's just a very good ruck..

..lookit, the best ruck combo going around is Cox/NicNat.. ..and they've toyed with the ruck and ruck as rr at center stoppages.. ..and it was always Cox as ruck, and nicnat as rr.. ..NicNat works as a rr cos he has lightning reflexes and plays with intense bursts of speed/power.. ..this makes him comparable to a mid around the stoppages..

..i can understand the want to get Knockers on the team, i agree that he's too good to be a ressies player.. ..but especially with krooz fit, his tapwork isnt THAT much better to push Krooz out, when you consider Krooz's own tapwork combined with his around the ground work..

..in all honesty, we traded in Knockers, when we had Krooz, Hammer and Jacobs.. ..as per usual, years of subpar rucks [with all due respect to barnaby's heart], made us go all out for rucks.. ..Knockers was hardly that much more developed than krooz [after he'd played his 1st season with us], so chasing knockers as hard as we did was a bit of overkill in my opinion and systematic of our drafting/trading policy.. ..ignore list weaknesses until we're forced to address them, and then go all out cos we're so desperate.. ..e.g inside mid weakness = 1st pick for McLean a month prior to trade..

You'd only do it with above average compo for him, That's why Id rather trade Hampson, would get you the same average return (trade wise) but is less likely to hurt you ie unlikely make a significant difference to this or any other team. Jacobs scenario is still fresh..

..not entirely sure i understand this concept.. ..if Knockers is better as a ruck than Hampson, and he ought to be worth more on the trade table, but we fear we won't get true worth.. ..then how would we get true worth for Hampson, to bridge the trade net gap between Knockers and Hampson.. ..going by your logic regarding Knockers trade worth, we'll get hardly anything of worth for Hampson..

So some of you compare us to where we were three years ago etc.

Its a different world ... you sleep... when you wake up youll weep !!!

i find it amusing that some of you think just cos our results were ok a couple of years ago... it automatically means we should be doing better today.

Where the @#$%&! has our planning been?
Whos pushing through for Judd.Carrazzo. Scotland. Simpson. Waite etc?

Which picks from the last three drafts are pushing through?
Yes we lost Kennedy.. Russell.. Austin.. Harlteltt. Grigg... Lucas and Watson arent performing.

How do you blokes think this list was going to move forward????

Eh???
We cant even find a worthy captain... we dont have leadership going on... our idea of leadership was to vote Murph captain???
Hate to say this but hes a bust captain.. so what next??... how do we move the captaincy to someone else now???(assuming there is someone)...

Someone's nose is either gunna get out of joint.. or we wont have a viable captain...

Thats what we have been doing for the last 5 seasons..... nothing much...
Pick after pick on hbfer types.....peripherals i like to call em....

And you guys think this is an easy task??...
Last year Carrazzo got injured and we couldnt play footy..... Think about it ... Carrazzo injured the house comes down...!!!
thats what we have achieved.... that and ONE ELIMINATIONAL finals win ...

our window.... one elim finals win...
ooooooooooOOOOoooOOOooooo AaaaaaAAaaaaaAAAAAAAAAaaaaa

This is a bigger task than some of you people think.....

Lets start wth some leadership .... we havent had that in over a decade.... Ratten developed ZIP!!!....
No clue Ratten... no clue club....

So you better get behind this guy instead of crying about some early games lost... we were on the sids already... !!!

no leadership
an out of balance list
an aging midfield... and replaced by rookies.. Bell Curnow Ellard... Oh wow!!!!

and a club that acieved nothing in a time vacuum where clubs were all restructuring.. unfortunately for us.. alot of clubs restructured better....

Still doesn't explain why Malthouse only wanted to go to club that didnt need a rebuild (chose carlton), a list on the cusp (chose carlton), no trading, happy with the list and if the stars align it could well be flag time !

doesnt matter... he gets paid well.... and he will improve the planning and the structures.

but the bottom line is we wasted yearssssssssssssss

Judds an old man in fooballing terms...

ask yourself this.

Right now... Judd or Kennedy..???.. Forget about Judd or kennedy plus masten

5 years with the wonder coach ratts eh???

we gave Brett 'Norwood' Ratten a six year and six game contract to coach this great club and allowed him in chaarge for over 5 years... We did that!!!.... Brett Ratten...rubber stamped by Stephen 'Sticks' Kernahan... another guy all other clubs wished he was president of their club.
That would take the shine away from any new ball.....

You keep bringing up Ratts 5 years with a  like its a win for you everytime we discuss something. No matter what we are talking about :screwy:

It has nothing to do with this. I was just pointing out the master coach who has 3 flags and truckloads of prelims (even though you are all about premierships........until recently) to his name saw the list different to your post above. Your man Old "stars align" Malthouse had us well in contention. So much so he didnt want to change the list that had all the holes you pointed out in it.
Sounds like you are hedging your bets again.

That would have to be the dumbest most stupid thing I have ever heard anyone say when it comes to sport

Its all about winning you idiot Mathouse - i think his problem and what he should have said was

"This is not about Carlton this is about me "
