At least NicNat isn't playing

Warnock dominated the duckers in the centre square during the 2011 Semi Final.

Big chance for him.

One week at a time etc, but Rd 6 vs Melbourne is shaping up as battle of the winless.....unless we can eek one out against the Crows (I can't see us getting too close to WCE).

Anyway, this week....

Ellard might be rushed in after 1 VFL game and a month on the sidelines. Depends how his GPS figures look, but I think MM would like him in. At least we know he will tackle like he means it. His goal sense is a bit underrated too. He might get a run-with role and Carrazzo goes back into defence.

If Ellard needs another week in the VFL to get his match fitness up, then Curnow is the next cab off the rank of foot soldiers to be assessed by MM under game day pressure.

Warnock in for Kreuzer is a no brainer, but Hammer vs Casboult is a tough call for the MC. Casboult's confidence looks shot to me, and Hammer's reach can make defenders nervous, so I think Hammer will get the nod (even though I have some misgivings about Warnock & Hammer in the same side), unless rain is forecast.

In: Warnock, Bootsma, Ellard/Curnow
Out: Kreuzer (inj), Davies, AJ

Walker Jamo Bootsma
Carrazzo Hendo Scotland
Lucas Judd Tuohy
Armfield Rowe Gibbs
Yarran Hammer Garlett

Warnock Robbo Murphy

Inter: Brock, Ellard/Curnow, Simmo
Sub: Bucks

And pray for the best.

I'd bring in Ellard for Joseph, but think 12 changes in 4 weeks is a bit drastic.

There are fewer blood-sucking parasites there than running around in orange or lime green on the weekends, mate.

Drop Simpson.

Really?

Simmo has a lot more credits in the bank than that.

Nah. He's awful at the minute.

I could name a dozen players that have been awful for a long time and have still been getting games. Simpson deserves another chance.

Agreed. Maybe we need to try him in a different role, he's out of form and opposition know how important he is to the side and make a point of keeping him under wraps. Extra man in defence perhaps, try and get him free? Don't like him as an accountable defender and wasteful up forward, kinda limits the options when he's not firing in the midfield.

That was back in the day when Ratts was coach. We don't trot out that excuse because it isn't something we have never done before and there were others worthy of being dropped under Ratts but weren't. He is playing poorly - a run in the 2nds might do him some good.

The Malceski beard is flowered on so many levels as he thought it would bring him luck as it did Malceski - Simmo also said if his form suffered he would shave it - that time is upon him.

Bring in Laids and '1 to 2 weeks'. Also Robbie of course.
leave Simmo in. He'll come good.

Need to get structure rights and cut our losses on some players.

B: Collins Jamison Laidler
HB: Walker White Scotland

C: Gibbs Tuohy Yarran
Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy

HF: Garlett Henderson Robinson
F: Betts Casboult Rowe

Int: Bell Carrazzo McLean Ellard

White at CHB releasing Hendo fwd. Laidler as third man up and assisting.
Davies stays if Laidler doesn't come in. Was solid last night and did his role well.
Collins tried as small defender. He will put his head over ball and does create run. I see Temay filling that role when ready.
Jamo on Kennedy, White on Darling. McCarthy on Kennedy would be interesting?
IMO Walker is a gun defender who can pinch hit forward when needed.
Yarran needs to play up ground and work hard as a creative midfielder. It's time to step up. Too many skills not to. I believe Betts may play this week.
Tuohy on the ball with Bell, McLean and Ellard doing hard grunt work and increasing tackle pressure. Lucas is improving but needs to work on defensive side. It is poor.
Without Waite, Casboult comes in. No other real option. May enjoy space of subiaco. The other option is too play McCarthy or Watson at CHB and have White up forward. At least he leads to right spots and Rowe can be big man in square.
Simpson out for me. Been great but struggling since breaking jaw. Needs to go and get confidence back if he can.
If Gibbs injured Buckley stays. Only question on Buckley is engine. Seems to play mainly as small fwd and we have heaps of them. Can he develop into a mid, because he has the skills.
If tagging use Ellard. Carrazzo is a ball magnet and needs to play offensively and be creative.
Lots of midfield rotations to keep pressure up and create run. Some real size around ball which we ate lacking.
With space of Subiaco we also have forwards who can lead to right spaces.
Better kicking side.

Long shot? Cachia to come in as a tagger.

Over the next few weeks we will hopefully look at adding Waite, Graham, Temay, Menzel, McCarthy, Bootsma, OKeefe, Dale to that side.
