I am not overly disappointed in this loss. We lost Kreuz early which would have given us less flexability. It meant Hammer had to ruck more after coming back from an op. Rowe had to do more ruckwork which meant we probably couldn't alternate him and Hendo like last week. Walks is playing great, Touhy found a bit of form and we still weren't flogged. We outscored them in the second half. Our second quarter cost us. We'll get there.

Thought Murphy fought back well in the second half.

Hunt's 3 goals hurt badly, but thought he got a lot more credit for his work on Murphy then Carrazzo did on Selwood yet Murphy ended up with 27 touches, 14 of them contested and was our leading tackler with 6.

Yep, thought he was good.
Thought Carrots had his best game this year, as did Walks, Touhy and a few others.

Just a couple of busted flowers and mistakes.

No one was helping out Murphy when he was getting !@#$%& over by Taylor Hunt.
Conversely, why weren't we applying those same tactics to Selwood?
Soft team!

I can't believe Hampson has not come under scrutiny. 6 touches 1 kick and absolutely no idea how to play footy as a forward or ruck. Get rid of Joseph, Lucas and I think it's time Yarren went back. No intensity and plays like the game owes him something.

We are going to lose next week so don't mess about make a statement at selection. The year is as good as over when we are 0-4 after next week.

just putting it out there: one of the most disgracefully one sided umpiring performances I have seen in some time. 11-2 free kick count in the first quarter was just shocking.

Geelong are clearly the competition's protected species

We've only been in oblivion for approx. 13 years BB and really haven't rebuild 2 or 3 times like the really good teams do, so why wouldn't you. Be patient pal, I'm sure some more 1st round picks would do it for us.
Either that or new president, coach, recruiting team and development coaches would do the trick.
It's all good, sit back and just enjoy it.

team kept plugging away

inability to convert set shot when pressure came on in 3rd was disappointing. against best sides you have to convert all set shots

also still conceeding junk time goals. mark and goal to end 3rd was far too easy

Not a massive Hampson fan but the decision to play 2 weeks after the surgery just seemed :screwy: to me.

we need to talk about the r word..........rebuild. It pains me to say this but we simply don't have enough quality within our 22 (or our list). I'll name a few players:

Joseph
Davies
Armfield
Hampson
Simpson (finished)
Scotland (finished)
Lucas?
Jamison? (probably a bit harsh)

This is just based on who played tonight, but that is too many players to carry and can't see any being part of a premiership team. There isn't much coming through either.

The lack of steel or hardness in our team has been lacking for years. We can look mesmerising at times when we have the ball, but shockingly inept when we don't. The amount of space that Geelong had tonight was embarrassing. Soft goals, costly turnovers, missed marks, missed tackles and wrong positioning have been hallmarks of this side for too long now.

The great Carlton sides always had great defensive players and as we all know the first piece of the puzzle in winning a premiership is defence. It is time for Mick to set the wheels in motion. Allowing teams to score over 100 points three weeks in a row is simply not good enough and it needs to change quickly as Judd's presence won't be around for much longer. Unfortunately, I now don't think he will be part of a premiership team with Carlton. That is a pity.

Walker played a fantastic game tonight.

Maybe he should have been in the leadership group.

All I want is courage.
We have no conviction. Frightening thing about that is the players obviously don't play for each other.
If we go down fighting, then I can hold my head high eing a Carlton supporter but for the last decade, all I watch is a slow aneurysm.
