Too easily scored against. If Malthouse hasn't UNLEASHED his defensive mechanism based gameplan yet because he thinks we are not ready then I can sort of understand. If he has UNLEASHED it and what we are seeing is it then I think the old bloke might have lost the plot.

Our players run out of puff after 10 minutes each quarter. Are we unfit for a reason? Building to smash the wins post round 5? Doubt it but its something to cling to.

Some body type just wouldn't get any improvements - just like Simpson, Lappin and Bower. They will be skinny for the rest of their lives.

Tackling is the issue. Has been for years. We cannot make them stick. The opposition continuously gets away and it costs us goals every single week.

Mick acknowledge we have a major issue with depth and its do obvious

We can't take a trick with injuries which makes it worse

We're feeling the effects of wasted first round picks on Watson, Lucas and Bootsma!!!
Put out the idea of trading Gibbs and Lucas at the end of the year and see if we get any worthwhile bites.
Target quality free agents and trade hard.
Davies and AJ are as good as gone at the end of the year!

The players are toothpicks... built for speed

Recruiting over the last six years or so didn't factor nonsense like tackling, shepherding, kicking, hand balling etc.

Actually excited the way the list is being sifted through, no more hiding under the term potential.

Played three good teams and have been in winning positions in all three. Not that far away.

Adhering to the defensive game plan a key.

Still sorting through list and capabilities.

Will be better w Waite, Betts, Kruezer, Laidler, Bell, Ellard in our best 22.

Desperately need a small defender.

Yep. And lapses in concentration are costing us. That's gone on for years at CFC. Plus we are carrying a few blokes who are either not up to it or who are not up to it yet.

Thought Murphy fought back well in the second half.

Hunt's 3 goals hurt badly, but thought he got a lot more credit for his work on Murphy then Carrazzo did on Selwood yet Murphy ended up with 27 touches, 14 of them contested and was our leading tackler with 6.

Murphy wasn't too bad. He got stung by Hunt and the Cats who made sure Hunt got plenty of attacking action. All part of their plan. Murphy wasn't tagging Hunt he was trying to lose him most of the night. THe other blues players needed to make sure their captain was looked after. They didn't. Murphy was a bit fumbly tonight. Hunt also played very well in the first half. He is a good player.

Gibbs was missing most of the first half but got back into it in the second half.

Plenty more highs and lows to come this season.

Lucas is shake head hopeless.
Opposition players are relishing running at him cos they know he cant tackle.
He tries but he is another non physical type we recruited.
Davies is just pants!!!
Yarran and Garlett seem to be lacking conditioning.
Garlett misses Betts
We dont spot players up we just kick aimlessly.
Simpson should be dropped

Was clearly hampered from the start. Couldn't move properly, but still contributed, particularly in the last quarter.
