A lot of blame seems to be directed at the youngsters, Bootsma, Lucas, Casboult - I think more heat should be directed at Simmo, Laids, Carrots and Murph. These are the guys we need to play well. Expecting Bootsma to hold his ground and to do well is a big call. Maybe more support from our leaders will take some pressure of the youngsters.

Murphy?
Maybe if he spent more time in the middle instead of the half forward flank, he'd be half a chance....

I think Hampson will be named, but I don't think he plays. Make Warnock an emergency and bring him in. I would drop Casboult, but keep Rowe in the team. If necessary use Rowe as a bit of a decoy and keep Walker forward.

..if Knockers comes in, then in regards to pure ruck dominance [cats rucks are sub-par currently], the mids won't have an 'easier' opportunity for clearance work dominance.. ..however, if the cats run away with our taps, then i reckon with the tap work class of Knockers and Krooz, we'll know for sure that the clearance issues lie with the mids, and not a mids/ruck situation..

..thinking if this does happen, Knockers plays as 1st ruck and Krooz deep fwd, Rowe to have a more CHF running role..?.. ..is he fit enough to play an all game roaming CHF role..?.. ..Krooz can't run too much and expect to ruck as well.. ..i'm not entirely happy with this fwd set-up, Walker must play a FF leading target all game,, otherwise it's all up to Garlett and Yarran again, with extra pressure on the mids to run fwd of the play to get scoring opportunities, cos not a huge confidence in tall fwds kicking big scores..

No cohesion or understanding between Kreuzer and the mids.
Kreuzer keeps going one way and they have no idea time and time again.

You're not going to drop Casboult for Warnock. Great from a ruck point of view BUT think of what that does to our forward structure. We'd have Rowe and a ruckman. Kreuzer certainly no forward and plays well as a first ruck only, and Warnock resting in the key forward spot would be just terrible. Hampson maybe but not Warnock. Unless you picked Watson as well and moved Henderson forward with Rowe then there's no way I'd do a straight swap of Warnock for Casboult.

..mids are still getting used to new midfield set-ups, the ruckwork of krooz has been reliable enough, but there's little mids supoort for eachother in the stoppages.. ..krooz has to get the tap, and then put on a block..

Armfield. Rowe. Scotland
Laidler. Jamo. Yarran.
Lucas. Carrots. Bell.
Simmo. Henderson. Robbo
Garlett. Hammer. Walks
Kreuzer. Judd. Murphy
McLean. Gibbs. Buckley
Sub: Tuohy

Rowe looks good back and strong enough to have a dip on Pods.
Our big Fwds are scoring so give Henderson another crack.
Play Buckley whilst Betts is out.
Play simmo fwd, last a yard of pace I reckon and is greeting burnt weekly in the foot races/chases, let him create off HF. I'd try HB but he seems to run off his men too much.

I would have the same changes, Scotland will be a big in.
Talking to someone involved with the NB i expect Buckley to play.
Going to be tough, we dont play Etihad well. Hopefully Geelong have used up all of their luck and drop one.

If word on Ellard is true I will be very happy. Is tackling machine and puts his body on the line every time. Gives his all and will flourish under Mick. Pops up for a few handy goals too and is a pretty good clearance winner too.

If it was up to Mick, then he'll be in.

Sees Ellard as an important cog in the machine.

So do I.

Rowe seems like the type to hold down CHB while releasing Henderson forward.
Casboult and Rowe are too inexperienced to hold down the 2 forward KP's alone for now.
Henderson and Jamison can support one at either end.

Don't think there'll be too much in the way of changes this week.

Bell or McLean might be out for Curnow.
Boots or Laids for Scotland.
Rowe or Casboult for Hampson/206.

BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T PLAY ALL 3 RUCKMAN AGAIN!

I reckon Casboult should be dropped for Hampson, to get a bit of confidence in the 2s, Scotto to come on for Boots for the same reason.

Other than that it's game on

PS When does Waite come back??

I think, (and really hope), MM leaves Hendo and Jamo as our defensive book-ends. A settled back-line seems to be a common factor in a lot premiership teams and in my opinion those two are a good start. Let them learn to work together.

Two tall forwards from Waite, Hammer, Cas & Rowe ... quality might be problem there but let's give the younger ones time.

This isn't a bad call at all redback. We know Mick has been throwing Rowe back during the NAB. Wonder if he tries it soon with the right matchup
